Possible Soul hax immunity/resistance to Greeed and Eiji

After a certain thread *coughEijiVSIchigo*.

I, and a couple of other, have come to a conclusion that Greeed themselves lack soul. Now, let me explained why.

Starting from their creation, Core Medals are desire itself taking shape in a form of, well, medals. At first the Medals does nothing until combined with Cell Medals that we are able to get being like Uva (Kamen Rider). At first they are borderline mindless due to them already have all that they 'desire'. Only until that the First OOO stolen each Core Medals out their set out of them that they are able to even think in the first place.

Even the character that know their origin said that they are only walking desire.

Also, also, while Greeed are able to stay alive as long as their Core Medal is intact is true. It need to he the specific one, the head piece. Why? The head piece of the Core Medal contain the conscious. That's right, not soul, just the mind.

Here is some more proof. With Eiji obliterating Ankh(Lost) Cores and leave Ankh rather in tact during EP42 of OOO. Well, mostly intact since he can still reform.
 
All that is known about Greeed is that they're a collection of medals (objects) created by alchemy that developed a conscious and are walking desire. There would have to be some proof that the alchemy used to create them also gave them a soul or something like that to conclude they have one. There is no proof that conciousness = souls in OOO so that isn't a possible explanation. I would have to say, normal Greeeds don't have souls.

Now Eiji or Dr. Maki on the other hand are humans who became Greeeds aka they have a soul. I don't think they would get the resistance/immunity.
 
Perhaps, but he is still Greeed. So at least a part of his mind would still leave in his Core Medals, would it not? So while Soul hax him still work, they still need to destroy his Core Medal first.
 
A lowballing explanation is that, OOO Series doesn't have soul in its Cosmology(?) (I mean, I don't really remember it being mentioned at all when I watched it. But then again, I don't remember PuToTyra having Void Manipulation in my memory too. So I may miss some part)
 
It is a details that most people would overlook on his void hax since it only explained once while it's abilities have been shown multiple times.
 
it is assumed that most verse have a soul system , unless specificaly stated otherwise .

"Under normal circumstances, most characters are assumed to have a soul by default unless the original medium specifies otherwise. Those who do not possess are soul are usually considered to be immune to most applications of Soul Manipulation."
 
So, even if souls are not mentioned, they are assumed to have it, unless stated to not have it, or being somwthing that shouldn't have it?
 
The Greeeds basically is nothing but just a pile of metals, their body are made up by hundreds of Cell Medal and Core Medal and lack of any organic parts. Many of examples out there have show similar things to them, such as the Gems.
 
I mean, we have a statement from Uva that basically says they're just a little better than walking, sentient beings of desire. If we take the traditional definition of a soul (Every living being has one) then the Greeeds almost definitely doesn't count unless you think your literal anger has a soul I guess.
 
i honestly lean toward Eiji and Maki still have their souls due to used to be humans. Unsure about natural Greeeds
 
Being an object doesn't mean you don't have a soul .

A verse like bleach can soul hax object and states that even atoms have souls .

To grant soul hax immunity to greeeds , i think a clear statement of them lacking a soul is required.

Well it definitely isn't given how the definition of it is

"Abstract Existence is the ability to embody an abstraction, such as a concept, thought, or an information, and being immortal thanks to it. This power has a variety of uses, ranging from a high degree of control over the abstraction and its manifestations, the aforementioned immortality, or even being unaffected by abilities that can't target the abstraction."

And both the Abstract Types don't cover what a Greeed is. For Type 1, a Greeed isn't a pure abstraction like it's described and Type 2 doesn't work since Greeeds don't embody anything; the Greeeds ARE the thing.

As for the Universe thing, this is heavily HEAVILY dependent on the Verse so this doesn't really work for comparisons. The Universe in Fate Series has a soul, but what about Real-Life Universe? According all known lore about our real life, no it does not have a soul at all. It's a natural force that just happens.

Again, the Greeeds are more closer to Robots or Androids than they are living Organisms.

Idk ablut that one. Probably should get staff on this thread. I'm pretty darn sure objects don't have souls in real life hence why usually we don't give souls to robots ƒÿÉ
 
Object only have soul in Bleach because the entire Soul Socoety is made out of reiatsu/soul energy is it not?
 
no, even the living worlds objects have a soul . That is how the fullbringers use their abilities , by manipulating the souls presents in objects , materials or even atoms .
 
What are the conclusions here?
 
In my personal opinion, original Greeed lack soul due to their nature and how they created. (Walking sentient mass of medals and desire, Core Medal only contain their mind and not soul)

While someone that is half greed like Eiji get soul resistance due to even if his soul were to he destroy, his mind would still live on in the Core Medals
 
Objects don't automatically have souls, that's a verse specific thing. A verse needs to state that objects have souls in order for them to have a soul. Organic things having souls is fair game though.
 
Basically, Greeed like Uva (Kamen Rider) gain immunity to soul hax because he was born lacking soul due to Greeed onlu born with only desire as their being and they onlu have their mind storing inside their Core Medal.

While half-greeed like Eiji Hino gain an unconventional resistance to one due to him still being human but his mind will still be able to persist in Core Medal.
