You know what this wiki doesn't have? Seal Removal as an ability. Often you get stuff like unlocking one's potential (ex. Guru unlocking Krillin's, Gohan's, and Dende's powers and Old Kai bringing about Mystic Gohan) or seals being broken. In the latter case, you know the cliche plot where ancients seal an evil overlord away and said overlord vows to return, and then it actually happens? Yeah, that's what I meant.
In any case, some notable examples of Seal Removal are...
Natalie (Epic Battle Fantasy) (Purify is capable of removing Syphon, though she would have to eat garlic since Purify can't be used while she's Syphoned)
Ariadoa (The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious) (Ariadoa's title doesn't refer to the act of sealing stuff, but rather unlocking one's hidden potential. Also, no profile available)
Guru (Dragon Ball) (Has unlocked the powers of Krillin, Gohan, and Krillin)
Old Kai (Dragon Ball) (The ritual used to unleash Mystic Gohan; duh!)
Arle Nadja (Puyo Puyo) (She has Unlocking Magic, which is used to unlock stuff obviously)
While physical seals can be broken just by destroying the object of sealing (as in the case of Dr. Cortex's satellite crashing into the temple Aku Aku used to seal Uka Uka away, thus freeing Uka Uka), this logic doesn't apply to magical seals, which need to be removed. As such, these would be the types of seal removal:
Type 1 (Unlocking Potential): Unlike Statistics Amplification and Power Bestowal, this doesn't provide boosts to one's powers or provides any extra abilities, but rather unlocks one's hidden powers from within. Such is the case with Guru and Ariadoa.
Type 2 (Removal of Power Nullification): This removes Power Nullification, which makes it a formidable form of Seal Removal in a Vs Debate setting. An example of this would be Natalie removing Syphon with Purify.
Type 3 (Removal of Seals): This pretty much means you're removing the seal on someone who has been sealed away. This can be done physically (in this case it wouldn't count as a special ability) or magically. Arle's Unlocking Magic is an example of removing physical seals with magic.
So yeah, there's that. Hopefully this would help enlighten things on Seal Removal. I may have missed another type or two of Seal Removal, but if there's anything you'd like to contribute, please let me know.
For real, why don't we have that yet?
