My brain seeing the title: I, GIORNO GIOVANNA, HAVE A DREAM

either way, "standard" as it pertains to a swarm is a bit vague, considering she doesnt really have a terrarium she brings along for combat. She does keep bugs around and alters their breeding cycles to make a lot very fast, but eh

What does he have against being swarmed by bugs from all sides, some of which being attached with the same stuff pepper spray is made out of
 
Soup.

To elaborate, creating (things that are essentially) fireballs out of hot soup, creating a whirlwind of soupy energy to blow the insects away, and creating a "lava grenade" that explodes with hot soup.

And if he can knock them away, he has Ancient Potion and Fog of Lost Souls to heal back up somewhat.

This is the kind of stuff she can use just in Central Park, though the swarm she keeps under her costume has a lot of stuff. Venomous, poisonous, some dipped in caspacin (pepper spray), etc. She's probably not going to immedately send out her personal swarm since that's used more as a concealed weapon, but she can get straight to summoning all the bugs in the area to mob Giovanni really hard. Once controlled millions of spiders at once to keep Crawler (Worm) incapped, and much later on says the issue with getting quintillions would be that it takes way too long as opposed to the number itself (though that was after her power was messed with, so eh). Bugs also survey the area and can act as a sort of low level clairvoyant power, giving her generally enhanced awareness of what's going on. Her voice can be projected, swarm clones of her can be made to confuse a foe, and bugs will often be sent to vulnerable areas. Her first thing she did was rot a man's dick off (but it's okay he has Regenerationn).

Taylor herself is also good in combat. The gun and matter destroying knife are out, but she still has a baton and pepper spray, alongside her concealed swarm. She was able to stall Mannequin (Worm) long enough to gunk up his mechanics with spider silk despite her significant physical inferiority, escaped Coil's plot to have her assassinated which involved fighting through Coil's mercenaries while still mostly blind and relying on her swarm sense to get stuff done.

The biggest thing Giovanni seems to have going for him is the steam aura, but there are a few ways she can get around that.

  • Having bugs drop things from trees, like nests and branches and such. Falling objects will hurt a 10-A dura
  • Just swarming anyways, since steam won't instakill bugs and bug corpses fill eye sockets, noses, lungs, etc just as well as living ones
  • Using bugs that can tolerate that better
  • Just beating him up herself, since she's physically stronger, faster than his normal speed, has a baton, is pretty good at fighting, and has her hidden swarm.
She did beat a dessication focused cape brought in pretty much just to make her powers not work well, though i don't; remember how. All in all I think I'll vote Taylor here.

She initially distracted them with decoys, then when the fight progressed she pulled the silk trick and wrapped them up

Either way Taylor for reasons above I guess

I just added a key for Giovanni having the Arsene Amulet since he had it for most of the most recent episode. It essentially just gives him power absorption, but should I just leave him as normal for this fight?
 
If you want, though absorbing her power may run into trouble in a few ways. Namely, the sensory overload it results in was enough to cause her to have a second trigger event, and absorbing power from something that sits in a pocket dimension usually cut off from interference may be hard.

May as well take the opportunity to note Taylor's unusually high pain tolerance, due to a past experience with pain manip messing with her perceptions a bit.

I don't think Giovanni really has any win condition here, Taylors bugs are way more verstile and could probably eat his soup
