Okay time for another battle of intelligence. I did this match when I realized that Dexter essentially has the Death Note but it mindwipes instead of kills.

Dexter the Boy Genius vs Kira.

They start in their hometowns and both are aware that someone's after them but they don't know who. The winner is whoever winds up dead or incapacitate or KO'd or whatever.

I'd hand it to Light. While Dexter is the more outlandish of the two and has access to more world-altering technology, this often works against him and Dexter is far from a social flower, whereas Light is pretty adept at manipulating those around him.

If it comes down to it, it would be easier for Light to discover Dexter's name than it would be for Dexter to discover Light's or even Light's position without just nuking everything around him. So I'd vote Light.
 
I think Light's intelligence is better suited for detective work, social interactions, and psychological evaluation.

Not to mention Light would be much colder and crueler so he has many more option available to him.
 
Couldn't Dexter just create a device to find out Light's name and then kill him? In fact, Dexter has shit like the Dream-o-tron 3000, which can do anything. Dexter also has a bunch of devices that can completely alter his name and appearance, amongst other things, so he could pretty easily develop some sort of false persona to fool Light.

Light is smart, but he's not building robots that can do anything. I vote Dex.
 
Do we even know Dexter's full name? We have never seen anywhere on the show that states his last name.

But eh, Light can most likely trick him anyways, so...

I don't really get you guys, Dexter can pretty much go into his lab and invent a machine saying 'what is Light Yagami's name' and win immediately.

Considering the fact that he's made mass mind control devices, devices that can do literally anything, and several reality-warping machines in minutes, I don't think I'd put something like this against him. He can pretty much do whatever he wants.
 
Okay, so I can say, "Any mage in D&D can create a know-your-name spell because they have made mindhax spells". Do you see the non-sequitur there? The two aren't related. And... no, he hasn't made devices that can do "literally anything". To say so is massive NLF. He hasn't made such a device, nor is one an easy jump from a previous thing he's made, nor would he know to do so. He just knows someone wants to kill him, which won't help him much unless he nukes the planet, which I suspect he won't do.

Light is better equipped for the scenario of finding out who and then killing them without a confrontation ever occurring. That is my opinion.

As for another thing, it's really, really easy for Dexter to make himself completely unlocatable. He could change his entire genetic appearance if he wanted to. Dexter could mindwipe entire cities. There's no way Light would ever find him. I'd argue that Dexter is a lot smarter than Light as well, based off the thing's he created.

Dexter is worse at social sciences, but his tech makeups for it.
 
show me the times Dexter's machine created the Tier 0 character if it can do literally anything because it says so

'Cat and mouse' doesn't matter much if Dexter can use his extremely numerous hax to make it so that he will never, ever, ever be caught.
