5th Strongest 7-A Bracket Round 1 (The Spirit vs Alakazam)

Anyone would think that Alakazam should be capable to create some type of psyquic shield... I guess he can't. By the way, what does this type of madness do so it do prevent Alakazam to attack it (even if not aware of doing it)?

All I know is that it's potent enough to make everything on earth "crazy". What "crazy" entrails. No idea. Best to ask a knowledgable member of care bears.

Her madness manipulation is thought-based and she was able to make everyone on Earth insane. If insane is too vague well I don't really know how else to explain it.

Welp, some times madness could turn beings violent, something that do not make a favor to an immobile book.

Yes, it does it in combat. The range is at least several kilometers. Although since the madness is done via mind manipulation she could also just get Alakazam to leave her alone while it's unable to think straight.

I guess I see the book winning most of the time now, but I would prefer to wait for Cal a pokemon specialist to confirm.

Madness Manipulation being a subset is true (With exception of certain types)

I highly doubt Alakazam resists up to planetary tho

Didn't see it being planetary lol.

Granted, driving Alakazam insane may backfire if it becomes kill-anything-that-moves insane.

We used to consider range and hax independent tho, so depends of how complexe its the madness hax and how deep its the resistence.

Good thing the Spirit can't move ovo

When it first drove a room full of people insane they all started fighting each other but ignored the Spirit and Nicholas, who she was using for her plan at the time.

So it turns the affected ones violent (that make me think it could be more Empathic Manipulation than Madness, but I don't known beyond that). Personally, I believe Alakazam can avoid madness/anger at least for a time, it also seems more versatile as the book hasn't much outside madness (or at least do not explain much aside that, like immortality and chaos manipulation).

Wait what's stopping Alakazam from one shotting?
Fair question. Want to point out that Alakazam misses one range key, so hard to tell whether it has the range for it.

Otherwise.... the possibly type 9 immortality? Though I don't know if that's useful.

Yeah, how that immortality works? Also, it is really necessary the key to close the book one it can be destroyed conventionally?

The way I see it, both think. Spirit blows up due to Alakazam's overwhelming power while Alakazam thinks it's getting over a bad breakup with a nice Gardevoir or something.

It probably shouldn't have that type 9. I gave her that based on how they needed to close the book to stop her and thus the means of killing her permanently likely don't exist in the corporeal world.

Xatu > Alakazam
Is this useful for the debate?

Anyway, so, if immortality type 9 doesn't work, is there anything that stop Alakazam from crushing Spirit? What other stuff the book have aside from madness that is useful in battle?

Well, I figured if you wanted to find the 5th strongest 7-A, you'd be better looking at Xatu over Alakazam

I doubt either have a serious chance of winning tbh, so ┬»\_(Òâä)_/┬» This won't go anywhere if a change the conetstants all the time.

Anyways, how do the votes stand?

I think 4 for the spirit (Emperor, Schnee, Arogant Schmuck and Zack) and 2 for the Pokémon (cal and Antoniofer)?

If any, maybe the pokemon may share the spot if they win (although its highly unlikely).

Guess I'll vote for Alakazam, it can resist the mental attacks and seems more versatil and can potentially one shot the book.
