So I recently watched Cry's playthrough of Asura's Wrath and now I'm watching Matt play and both Maria and Asura have 5-A keys and both need more fights so wynaut?

Vajra Asura (aka 5-A), Speed Equalized, fight happens in the classic DBZ wasteland and fight to the death. IIRC Ausra's Resurrection took multiple centuries which should be enough for a victory.

Asura

Maria

EYYY

How does Asura's Type 4 work

If it's any good this would be a stompo

Double checking what type 4 is... right, resurrection. I'm pretty sure that's just him climbing out of hell, which took minutes in hell but was actually centuries on earth.

Asura significantly outranges, so that's a factor here. Unfortunately he's most likely to charge in and attack fist-to-face, but he's pretty good at that.

He also has regen between mid-low and low-mid, but it's kinda inconsistent (but that's almost certainly PIS, so can we count it?). His resurrection takes at least 500 years to work at its fastest demonstrated feat, so it's not usable here. But he does have type 2 immortality, which means he can casually continue fighting with Maria's sword impaled through his chest.

I think he can take this just by being much more determined and not dying when he's slashed or stabbed. The range advantage also helps.

Maria is able to fight with her own swords impaled through her chest as well

Just putting that out there

It's not on her profile, though. Can we count that the same as Asura's type 2 immortality? In the first episode he was running around and fighting with multiple spears impaled through his chest, so he can continue functioning completely unaffected with multiple weapons impaled through him, or with similar levels of damage to what should be vital areas.

"Stamina: Superhuman (Can stab herself through the torso twice and continue fighting as if nothing happened)"

Huh. I've not seen it, but I've seen similar things from Dark Souls so I'll believe it. Probably should be added to their profiles, though, if everybody agrees that it's equivalent to type 2 immortality in a CRT.

But even if she doesn't have type 2 immortality, I acknowledge that Soulslike characters can take impalement well enough to contend with Asura's type 2 at least for the duration of the fight.

That still leaves Asura's regen and range advantages.

When exactly has Asura regenerated limbs...? I thought that the whole point of him having robot arms is because he couldnt regenerate them after they were destroyed?

Also isnt it severely out of character for Asura to range spam unless his opponents are doing the same?

Considering he losses both arms multiple times, he'd kinda need regen

He didnt regenerate them he just got new arms, even in the fight against Yasha he went the entire fight without having his arms because they were destroyed

Every time he's lost arms he grows them back later on. Offscreen sure, but the timeframe isn't that long. And it's not like anybody builds those arms, they're basically made out of mantra like the arms he generates in his transformations. In fact, given the cutscene at the end of the game, Asura's entire body seems to be made of mantra by this point... which is weird but that's the only explanation for why he just straight up disappears when the god of mantra was killed.

In fact, the only reason why he doesn't regrow them in certain parts of the game is almost certainly PIS, because the game runs off of rule of cool and seeing Asura fight without arms is badass.

If it takes long enough that it has to happen off-screen then it'll almost definitely be a severe detriment to Asura is he loses limbs mid-combat, like i mentioned in the Yasha fight

Yes thats what i was referring to, he didnt regenerate his arms he just made new ones with mantra
...Does it really matter at that point, though?

An arm's an arm.

Also he now casually out-ranges her not only with projectiles but in melee thanks to this.

As far as I'm concerned I vote Maria. Asura can amp himself but he's at an initial AP disadvantage so with amps they're likely even.

If Asura in-character leaves his range advantage to hell then Maria has practically every advantage- her weapons give her abusable range, she can amp up her speed, etc. Asura has the extra arms thing but really that isn't astounding when they can be cut off.
