Alright, first I'd like to thank Mr. Bambu for telling me about this game, it was awesome and I loved it, gonna play it again. In this thread I'm going to explain the main bad guy of Okage: Shadow King's power, which is dubbed... The Power of "Classification". I want people to read the lines that I've taken directly from the game and help me see what ability or abilites this power would give him.

Note: The main character is immune to power of "classification" so he'll gain resistance to it.

Here we go!

The Power of "Classification".

Beiloune: "This small world was separated by me from the universe by the power of "classification". And you, too, were let live in this small world with the power of "classification". To play the roles that I gave. It was all for my dearest daughter Marlene, to enjoy her eternal life without any bordom... It was... What is classification to begin with? What are heros? Evil Kings? & Ghosts...? You never thought about it, have you? You cannot. You are classified as naive residents who don't think intelligently. However for some reason, over time, occasionally deviants appear. And one of them is now in front of me."

"In this world, no matter what happens, she won't die. In my world, she is absolutely protected."

"Ari! A deviant in my world!. It's all the fault of your kind of people!. If there no deviants like you, everything would go smoothly. I cannot let your kind of people live!. I will "classify" the remaining Evil Kings with maximum power & send them to you!.

Kisling: "He believes that if you, who are not under the power of "classification"."

"The world "classified" in Beiloune's mind has gone even further than "classification". The residents... ghosts as well as ourselves... If it's true, then we are all actors... Preformers playing out their roles. I'm playing out the role of a scholar, and maybe you are playing the role of an ordinary boy... Stan, you are playing the antagonist called the Evil King and Rosalyn, you are playing a righteous hero attempting to defeat him. It's an exciting yet very safe world full of adventure ready for a princess to play in. It should have been safe. If the history of Evil Kings and Heroes in this world is the history that he let his daughter play in... Then we cannot imagine, how long has he and his daughter have existed... If this world is indeed some tiny garden as Beiloune says, created by the power of "classification"... Then if we removed "classification" from his world, there may be an entire universe that well reveal itself."

"Now the hero, Ms Rosalyn, the former Evil Kings and myself are also deviants in this world".

Note: The other party members are only deviants because they have been close the the main protagonist Ari long enough to have some resistance but they have still been shown effected by "classification" unless Ari intervenes.

Epros: "Though defeated, I will not be denied, by a hero, a party of Evil Kings and a "not classified"."

He's referring to the main protagonist when saying "not classified" aka immune to classification.

Vampire Evil King: "Yes, it is I, I am an Evil King who is "classified" as evil and now... Compelled by the power of "classification" to be the supreme Evil King... and gather my power here".

"Correct, "the party that threatens the "classified" world headed by the fearful boy." Villagers are "classified" as "innocent and simple people, easily controlled by my power". That is their existence. They have no other function."

"Alas, there is no way to resist, regardless of weather one is aware of the truth. What I cannot resist I shall thus embrace! I will become as evil as I can be... and suck your blood to become the ultimate Evil."

Note: If it isn't clear, Vampire Evil Is saying that even if you know your under the power of "classification" you cannot resist it... Unless you are or hang out with a deviant... Which is exactly what the main protagonist is... What luck!.

"Cuz... You know, once "classification" of an Evil King is gone, I don't need to strain myself at all. See, my Evil King power is slipping away and soon I'll have "former" in front of my name."

Note: Even after Vampire Evil King lost his "classification" as an Evil King, he was instantly classed as "former" Evil King. Meaning he still couldn't break away from the power of classification even though his original classification was removed.

Beiloune: You, Shadow Evil King there. The reason why you cannot regain your total power despite defeating Vampire Evil King is... Simply because I intentionally reduced the total power of the Vampire Evil King... When I found out you were on the way here, I came up with something."

"If you want to go back to being the Evil King the only way is to make me obey... Unmake your maker, little shadow, the one who made you an Evil King."

Vampire Evil King: "Oh, I know, I can show. I can't go in with you, though. I wasn't invited."

Note: Beiloune created the Evil Kings through the power of "classification" he can give and take the powers away from beings he classifies, he even gives Stan all of his powers back and empowers himself as well meaning he can classify himself as well. He also makes the law, Vampire Evil King wasn't allowed to enter the World Library because he isn't "classified" to. This is also shown when even Non-Corporeal and Nonexistent beings could not pass through a barrier that they were not "classified" to pass through.

The World Library.

Man: "Oh, here comes the cause of Beiloune's anger to the world Library, the world core."

Note: The World Library is the central core of Beiloune's power of "classification". When he starts classifying things, the Library was created to house and record all his classifications. It's a pocket dimension that Beiloune can teleport to and back from. If it's destroyed, all his classification are gone. However even in the World Library, one is still effected by "classification", even one of the people Beiloune had in the library who was changing several of his classifications ran away, but not due to getting away but due to the fact that he was "classified" to leave at that specific time frame.

And that's everything. So what exactly is the Power of Classification classed as... Get it, I asked what the power "classification" would be "classed" as... I'll stop now. Anyway what powers would he get from this ability and what he's shown to do with it?.

I was thinking Fate Manipulation, Law Manipulation or Reality Warping?

I really want to say Law Manipulation because that seems to most logical to me. Reality warping is so a broad power with a vast range of applications so you could easily categorize the power of classification as some form of reality warping, although that may not exactly be the case. Not sure about Fate manip, but if that too is logical maybe it's Law + Fate manip? Some exclusive powers combine archetypal abilities as such.

I always forget how broad Reality Warping is, Law Manipulation and Fate Manipulation make more sense.

He does a lot of stuff with "classification" it's ridiculous.

Would Conceptual Manipulation work here?. He controls the concepts of good and evil and can manipulate it within people. Evil Kings are "Classified" "Evil" and Heroes are "Classified" "Good". He added this when he first started classifying the world.

If he wished their would be no evil or good in the world he can "classify" it that way, Removing it completely. Not sure if that fits concept manipulation though

Conceptual manipulation might work and I was even thinking about it when reading the description. Am not certain about that one.

It also gives me the impression of Plot Manipulation.

There's a good chance this is a hybrid ability, combining more than one power.

Actually scratch what I said. Conceptual Manipulation is the manipulation of the abstract concept themselves, not the ability to bind someone to a description (at least I think so). He probably won't get it.

Law manipulation+plot manipulation might work then.

I am fine Law Manipulation.

Conceptual Manipulation is possible if his classification can affect all of reality and it would Type 3 to me. It would similar to Ichibē Hyōsube and Yukari Yakumo's naming. This [art implies he can affect all of reality: Then if we removed "classification" from his world, there may be an entire universe that well reveal itself."

  • 3. Aristotelian Concept: Such concepts are abstract and govern all reality. These concepts shape everything, and changing them would either require the alteration of every object of the concept or, if manipulated directly, change all objects of the concept alongside the concept itself. These concepts, however, exist simultaneously with and are bound by the object of the concept. In this way, an abstract Aristotelian Concept can be destroyed by destroying all objects of the concept, restored by re-making an object of a previously existent concept, or changed by changing all objects of the concept across reality. This, however, does not qualify for this form of conceptual manipulation, and is rather treated as a byproduct of another action akin to a "domino effect". This type of conceptual manipulation can only be obtained if the abstract concept itself is changed directly, and not by indirect methods. For example, destroying humanity and thus "ending the concept of humanity" would not qualify, while directly "ending the concept of humanity" and thus destroying humanity would qualify.

Personally I find the passages hard to understand.

One option to classify the power would be as "concept addition". That is, the subpower of concept manipulation, that is the ability to add or remove something from a concept.

That would fit the evil king thing: He could add something to be an instance of the concept of an "evil king" and as long as it is an instance of that it would have to adhere to the properties all "evil kings" share.

However, the best solution, in my opinion, is to not forcibly try to squeeze it into some drawer. Just write "The ability to classify things" into the p&a section and write a throughout description of what was demonstrated with the ability into the notable A&T section.

Yeah, what you decribed as concept addition, I thought it was that. But wasn't sure if that sort of thing is considered conceptual manipulation here.

Concept addition was a thing in the past. They subpower was removed from concept manipulation in the big revision. Not sure if that had a reason.

I think it was fused to become Concept Alteratio- technically what the ability can do.

  • Concept Alteration: The ability to manipulate, alter, or change concepts. By using this ability, concepts themselves can be changed in a variety of ways. The concept can have have an object added to it, an object taken from it, or change the current principle of the concept. If a concept is changed, the world is altered in some way to fit this new conceptual definition, though the extent of this varies by the type of concept being manipulated.

I suppose, though I would argue that it doesn't belong there given that it isn't the concept that is altered.

A lot of things can synonymous abstract concepts in fictions. Not using the concept itself doesn't mean an ability doesn't give Conceptual Manipulation. We have numerous case in fiction that proves so like Rimuru Tempest, Arceus, Ichibē Hyōsube, Yukari Yakumo, The Player (Wizard101), Maxwell, etc. with the source materials rarely if ever using the words or abstract concepts. The characters only have Conceptual Manipulation because the abilities pass the Conceptual Manipulation's guideline Type

I think it good! Honestly, I think Conceptual Manipulation (Type 3) is legit enough to be added.

@Mr. Bambu Completely forget about that, I'll add it.

Also, I made Rosaly's page.

Rosalyn was unironically the first video game character I had a crush on tbh

The way Stan describes her is just ridiculous (boardface, saggy butt, think waste, think thighs and more). I swear he's talking about a completely different Rosalyn.

I mean

It's all for comedy

I get it

It makes me laugh every time these two get on screen together.

> Fodder like Rosalyn

I agree he should have an At least, but Rosalyn is one of the main protagonists that can fight Beiloune. Plus the 7-C+ feat is very early into the game.

Rosalyn is top tier given she's equal with Stan and Beiloune admitted they both got really strong.

I thought I gave them all At least Town Class+?.

Oh that. I'm still trying to find a good lifting feat.

Forget about Information Manipulation given he gave everyone a specific intelligence level, what they know is what he "classified" them to know and if he wanted to he could change it or take it away.

It's similar to Uxie Information Manipulation reasoning.
