Hamon isn't a biological power/trait, though. It's a breathing technique that channels sunlight energy. Aizawa wouldn't be able to nullify it.

Even then Joseph outskills to a significant degree and can grapple better with his clackers.
 
Yeah. Joseph mid-diffs this if hamon's nulled, low-diffs if he has hamon.
 
Aizawa opens with his quirk + Capturing weapon, I believe, and iirc, its metallic. Metal against a Hamon user is a humongous no no. Aizawa gets mindhaxed and his internal organs melted. Hand to hand is out for a similar reason.

Hamon isn't a physical attribute, it's a technique. That's like saying Aizawa can null the kamehameha.

Anyway Jonathan's hamon is very significant here, if he does an overdrive on Aizawa he's going down, regardless if he's blocking or not as the hamon will enter his body and cause it to fail in a variety of way.s.
