Sounds like the match is decided at the start based on who absorbs who, then. I dunno how Good Unicron's jedi mind tricks are - Lavos' own mind related stuff is on the level of the CC which "crosses space and time to unify people's thoughts, memories and feelings, drawing on the combined sounds of the world merged into one".ZacharyGrossman273 said:

Sounds like about the same on level of Mind Tricks. Then this indeed gets resolved by Absorption vs Absorption at the start of the match.
As for Absorption, it's TD's signature hax.
Lavos' own scaling of 2-A is the same as I put in the other thread with Sonic.
Which admiteddly is pretty bs, too since a small extract of the anti-annihilation energy within the Frozen Flame could make fodder normal humans become 2-A. And said artifact originally was a fragment of Lavos from when the thing fell on the planet as a Spawn, having literally 0 absorbed energy unto itself (though to avoid inconsistency in the lower key, I assume it evolved along with the being as it became the DD and then TD).

It really depends on who absorbs who at the start and they do sound similar or close in a bunch of their aspects, ye.
I'm too lazy to vote on this one (and even more lazy to argue scaling any further, which granted, was the main reason I also forgot everything about SMT 2-A vs Digimon 2-A) but Inconclusive sounds justifiable to me.

Let's be honest Cal; Lavos is a pretty big wall to climb over. That wall of passives is pretty insane, and god help you if your power relies on magic and you have no resistance to absorption. You just gotta pit him against the right characters.
