I thought: Why not try to make a list of the (quality wise) best profiles on the wiki? Might motivate people to improve their work.

Well arguably, whether or not a profile is of good quality is less subjective than best-looking character.

I'm gonna say Kirby for 4-A just to kick off. It has the most stuff in it at least.
 
I wouldn't say that Lavos is the best one. A lot of things are just explained without properly linking abilities and some things aren't explained at all.
 
Also, some people are defining as "best profiles" just ones which contain the most abilities/categories, which IMO wouldn't necessarily qualify as a good profile (don't get me wrong, they can be good, but it shouldn't be a standard).

Also, Profiles which took the creator most effort/time to make =/= Best profiels.
 
Well yeah, but big profiles = lots of explanations and cover everything, which tends to be good. But like Lavos, it's not really good enough.
 
I'm talking mainly about the ones which just list most abilities, not the ones that are long because they explain them in detail. Besides, some characters' abilities are just explained by a Respect Blog in the Note section.
 
I'm also gonna wank myself and say Madotsuki, mostly I took the time and effort to render + resize every single tabber pictures she has and I want credit dammit.

There are some very objective criteria one can start with:

  • The profile has a rendered profile picture of fitting size.
  • All stats are filled out. Unknown stats are acceptable if "likely/possibly/at least" a stat is given as well, or an explanation to the unknown is given.
  • The profile does posses a summary of reasonable length.
  • Explanations of all stats are given (as far as it is not same stat than a weaker form or clear from other stat)
    • Feats can be checked by the reader through links or the feats section. For scaling (short) explanations on why they scale are given.
  • The feats and/or gallery sections are used to show some of the characters own feats
  • The Powers and Ability Section is filled out.
  • The Notable Attacks/Techniques section is used. All or almost all abilities in the power and abilities section are further explained in the Notable Attacks/Techniques, with the possible exception of self explainatory techniques. (liek superhuman strength. Air manipulation on the other hand would deserve an explanation as for canon uses)
  • The profile is appropriately categorized.
  • The formatting of the profile is correct.
After that there are some more, but not entirely, subjective things like how good justifications are or if explanations are too long/short. And only then it really comes down to taste, but at that point listening to the majority isn't bad.

Reinhard's profile isn't even that great IMO.

Some of his minions' profiles actually look better, like that of Bey.

Edit: Now that I checked, Rein's profile is better than I remember it being. Still, not the best In my opinion.
 
Will start looking through / counting the nominations once I have finished cooking.


In the meantime I nominate Medea Pideth Machina for Low 2-C. Quotes for her stats and most important technique are given in the feat section and all techniques are explained. (I should probably find and render a better pic for her, though)


I would nominate Vandalieu for 7-C, but I think we can all agree that it has too much explanation.
 
Actually even as it stands Black Panther's profile is pretty good, only complient would be that he has resistance to mind manipulation in his mini respect thread in his profile as a feat, but doesn't have it listed in his powers/abilites section, which I'll fix eventually.
 
Going out on a limb here but I think Yakou Madara for 4-A. Other than the use of grammar and way its structure looks and all, it has quite a bit of details and scans that explain each and everyone of his abilities.

Only downside I can see from a glance is the fact its all in Japanese (scan-wise).

For Tier 7, maybe someone like Gilgamesh (Fate Series), Lancer (Fate/stay night) or Archer (Fate/stay night). These guys also have scans and they're also written out to explain detail-ish enough for people to understand what each can do. Although I'm pretty sure Gil still has some stuff needed to be edited (something something about Ea and whatnot but everything else is pretty written out well enough). If I had to take Gil out becuz of that, it'd be a toss up between Cu and EMIYA for 7-B/7-A whatever.
