I'm so glad I finally get to make this matchup. To celebrate the return of 7-B Esdeath, this is happening

Esdeath

Divine Gate Esdeath
I don't understand the feelings of the weak. The law of the world is survival of its fittest. It's how the weak are weeded out. It just means those people that died were too weak. It's only natural for the weak to perish.
~ Esdeath
Summary

Esdeath is the primary antagonist of Akame ga Kill!.

A high-ranking general of the Empire and leader of the Jaegers, she is the Empire's most powerful asset, even beyond Shikoutazer, not only because her powers are capable of attacking the very world, but also because of her blood-thirst and an absolute belief in "Survival of the Fittest", honed since her childhood. She is feared as "a born reaper" and "a natural disaster with a wicked consciousness", a claim backed up by her strength and combat skills that clearly give off the image of sadism and ruthlessness.

Powers and Stats
Tier: At least 7-B, likely higher | 6-C with 6-B Environmental Destruction

Name: Esdeath, "Empire's Strongest", "Ice Queen"

Origin: Akame ga Kill!

Gender: Female

Age: Early 20s

Classification: Human, Assassin, General, Teigu User, Leader of the Jaegers

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Proficient Assassin, Ice Manipulation, Time Stop, Weather Manipulation (Ice storm via Ice Storm Commander-in-Chief), Danmaku, Summoning via Ice Cavalry, Master Swordswoma, Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant, Extrasensory Perception (Can sense the presence of her adversaries if they carry a shred of murderous intent and has a strong 6th sense), Pseudo-Flight, Aura (Fear, bloodlust), Afterimage Creation, Resistance (to Empathic Manipulation and Willpower Manipulation [Unaffected by Scream], Mind Manipulation [Drank the entire chalice of Demon's Extract and resisted the Danger Beast's attempt to break her mind/ take control of her, while even of cup of the blood can destroy a human's psyche], Sound Manipulation [Unaffected by Heavy Pressure's Trump Card, Nasty Voice, describing it as a if a mere fly buzzing at her ear], Illusion Creation [Broke through The Spectator's Illusion Sight ability with brute force alone], Heat Manipulation [Her ice can resist being melted by Tyrant's fire-breath, and completely unaffected by Die Leaguer's Fire Orb], and Ice Manipulation [Grew up in a snowy region, and could cover herself in her own ice without any sign of discomfort])

Attack Potency: At least City level, likely higher Froze an entire river in a flashback shortly after obtaining her Teigu, when she was much weaker than her current state, treated Winged Incursio like a complete joke, who in his previous state, got stronger to the point of causing serious harm to Budo, consistently referred to as the Empire's strongest, witch would put her above the likes of base Shikoutazer, Third-Form Tatsumi, and far above Budo) | Island level (Stated by Najenda to be a greater threat than Shikoutazer. She effortlessly one-shotted Tyrant and was able to destroy Murasame) Country level Enviromental Destruction with Ice Storm Commander-In-Chief

Speed: At least Massively Hypersonic (Much faster than Akame who managed to evade lightning. Faster than Tatsumi, casually dodged a shot from Mine) | At least Massively Hypersonic (Should not be slower than before)

Lifting Strength: Class 50 (Casually lifts men larger than her and Tatsumi cannot escape her hold without Incursio) | Likely Class M (Far superior to Tatsumi in this state, who in his second form was capable of sending Shikoutazer flying with a punch)

Striking Strength: At least City level, likely higher (Casually deflected Tatsumi's attacks on multiple occasions | Island level (Effortlessly one-shotted Tyrant, traded strikes with Enoodzuno Akame)

Durability: At least City level, likely higher ( Took only slight damage from one of Second-Form Tatsumi's strikes, though it should be noted that Esdeath's feelings distracted her, far superior to all the members of Night Raid who can withstand Budo's attacks) | Island level (Able to take hits from Ennodzuno Akame)

Stamina: Extremely high, can fight against a whole army and continue to fight powerful Teigu like Susanoo even after using Mahapadma, much higher with Ice Storm Commander in Chief

Range: Extended melee range with her rapier, several kilometers with her Teigu.

Standard Equipment: Rapier, pet dragon.

Intelligence: Very high. Esdeath is an extremely skilled combatant renowned as the strongest soldier of the Empire, being a dangerously capable strategist and field commander who has led her forces to countless victories over the Revolutionary Army. Her skill is so great that Najenda believes only an army and ten Teigu users as skilled as Akame would stand a chance of defeating her if they all came at once. She prefers melee combat when not using her Teigu, easily taking on multiple foes in hand-to-hand combat at once and slicing through entire hordes of Danger Beasts with her rapier in a single movement. Her sadistic hobbies have given her a great understanding of human biology and is savvy enough to continually research and develop new abilities to use against her foes. However, for all her skill, Esdeath is still a bloodthirsty ****** who is more than willing to prolong a fight to savor it and her foe's suffering.

Weaknesses: Her trump card can be avoided by having a possible resistance to the cold (As Tatsumi's new Incursio showed in the manga, when his teigu evolved). Using Mahapadma drains Esdeath and she can only use it once a day, She requires a great deal of prep time to summon her Ice Cavalry in large numbers. Esdeath is a ****** to the core and will drag out a fight she's enjoying to savor it, which can distract her from her objective and keep her from finishing her foe off immediately.

Key: Base | With Ice Storm Commander in Chief active

Feats:

Physical Strength:

  • Kicked a man's face off
  • Kicked Wave across a room

Superhuman Speed and Agility:

Enhanced Durability:

  • Unaffected by the temperatures of her own ice

Enhanced Stamina:

  • Defeated nearly half of Night Raid without breaking a sweat
  • In a completely one sided battle, defeated Leone, Najenda, Susanoo and Tatsumi by herself
  • She has killed entire armies on her own

Enhanced Senses:

Immense Killing Aura:

Well Versed in Human Anatomy:

Skilled Hand-to-Hand Fighter:

  • Was capable of taking on both Base Incursio Tatsumi and Magatama Manifestation Susanoo at the same time with no trouble

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Esdeath is considered the strongest soldier in the Empire's army and one of the strongest in the series. She possesses a powerful Teigu called Demon God's Manifestation: Demon's Extract that allows her to manipulate ice and create ice from nothing. She uses it to create icicles, freeze people to death and more. She has been able to freeze an entire lake within moments with her ability.
  • Esdeath usually carries a long rapier that she wields with her into combat. She has shown herself to be quite adept with this weapon even without having to resort to her Teigu
  • She is shown to be a highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant as well, possessing great physical strength, such as when she sent Tatsumi crashing to the ground in one kick, or when she slammed Seryu through the ground in their first meeting. She was also able to slam Suzuka into a wall with relatively little effort.
  • She also has a strong sixth sense, being able to sense killing intent even at long distances. She was perfectly able to sense that someone was spying on her. Also, her sense of smell is strong as she conformed that it was Tatsumi after checking his scent when she reunited with him on top of Mt. Fake from one sniff.

  • Esdeath freezes a river
  • Esdeath kills multiple Danger Beasts
Teigu
Demon God's Manifestation: Demon's Extract: Esdeath's Teigu, is integrated within her body as it was the blood of a Danger Beast with the ability to control ice. She is able to use it for a variety of purposes like flash freezing foes to destroy them at the cellular level, firing icicles and boulders made of ice as projectiles, and even freezing time itself.

  • Weissschnabel: The user creates several icicles from thin air and fires them at the user's target with a simple hand gesture.
  • Unnamed Technique: Esdeath creates several rows of icicles similar to Weissschnabel, but the resulting icicles are greater in size, sharpness, and quantity.
  • Grauhor: Esdeath creates a giant horn of ice from thin air to pierce her target.
  • Hagelsprung: Esdeath creates an enormous boulder out of ice and launches it at her opponent to crush them under its weight.
  • Aura: According to Leone Esdeath has a diabolical aura, which is due to the countless massacres carried out. It's pressure is so great that she shows no apparent openings. It is also capable of greatly intimidating opponents and sensing their intent to kill.
  • Ice Armor: Esdeath can create ice around her body to act as makeshift armor to stop sudden attacks. This armor is durable enough to stop Akame's Murasame in its tracks.
  • Ice Entrapment: Esdeath can imprison foes in large ice structures to contain them without killing them if she so desires.
  • Levitation/Flight: By wrapping ice around parts of her body and making those pieces float, Esdeath can levitate in the air. While she is able to maneuver somewhat, she herself admits that it's far from true flight like Mastema's.
  • Ice Tree: With her hand on the ground, Esdeath summons a tree made of ice that fires dozens of ice projectiles from its limbs.
  • Ice Blender: An elongated, pointed poll of ice with many ice thorns sticking out of it. She sends this spinning at her opponents, blending them into a bloody mess.
  • Ice Spire: Touching the ground, Esdeath calls forth a giant spire of ice to pierce her foes, like in her fight with Akame.
  • Larger Ice Projectiles: Virtually the same as her regular projectiles, just larger.
  • Ice Limbs: When she lost an arm and two fingers, she has been shown to replace them with fingers and an arm made of ice that, as she said, works just as well as the original and does not hamper her ability to fight.
  • Ice Wall: Once again by touching the ground, she summons up a circular wall of ice to prevent her prey from escaping.
  • Full Body Ice Armor: Using ice to cover her entire body, she creates a large body armor that completely cuts her off from the outside, though noticeably slowing her down.

  • Weiss Schnabel
  • Esdeath fires icicles
  • Grauhor
  • Hagelsprung
  • Esdeath's Aura
  • Ice Armor
  • Ice Entrapment
  • Levitation/Flight
  • Ice Tree
  • Ice Blender
  • Ice Spire
  • Larger Ice Projectiles
  • Ice Limbs
  • Ice Wall
  • Full Body Ice Armor
Trump Cards

  • Ice Cavalry: Esdeath is able to create an army of golems out of ice that respond to her commands. They're able to simulate foot soldiers, cavalry, and giant Danger Beasts, allowing her to challenge an entire army with them alone. However, she requires a great deal of time to accumulate the necessary energy to generate them in such large numbers. In addition, they require her orders to function at maximum efficiency. Should she be distracted or preoccupied (i.e. by entering battle herself), their reaction speed will slow dramatically, great lowering their combat effectiveness. They are also capable of regenerating themselves from being blown to pieces.

  • Ice Storm Commander-In-Chief: Esdeath is able to focus her mighty power to create a powerful ice storm capable of covering an entire country with ice and snow. Although, she did it relying on the power that she puts into her Ice Cavalry, that took her a few days to create them (Which means that she should be capable of doing it by her own). From what she has said, it replenishes her powers constantly while the storm is active.

  • Mahapadma: Esdeath's ultimate trump card in which she freezes time and space in her vicinity, stopping all motion except for her own. During this time, she is free to attack her foes as she pleases and is also useful for intercepting attacks that she or an ally/objective cannot dodge on their own. However, using this ability drains her stamina more than she would like, and she can only use it once a day.

  • Activating Mahapadma
  • Time is completely froze
  • Stabbing Susanoo while time is stopped.
  • Time resumes...

The Didact

Halo Ur-Didact (Render)
We are Forerunners, guardians of all that exists!
~ Ur-Didact
Come then warrior, have your resolutio
~ The Didact confronting Master Chief
Summary

Shadow-of-Sundered-Star, more commonly known as "The Didact" or his Promethean name the Ur-Didact, was a Forerunner Promethean who held an extremely high status in the Forerunner society as supreme commander of the entire Forerunner military. He wholeheartedly believed in the Mantle of Responsibility the Forerunners held to protect life, and initially opposed the Halo Array as a sin beyond measure. He was also the lover and husband of the Librarian. He serves as the primary antagonist in Halo 4 and the Halo Escalatio comic series, as well as being a reoccurring character through the Forerunner novel series

Powers and Stats
Tier: At least Low 7-B, possibly 7-B

Name:
Shadow-of-Sundered-Star, Most known as "The Didact", Ur-Didact.

Origin: Halo

Gender: Male

Age: 112,812 by the time of Halo 4 (Born in 110,255 B.C.E.)

Classification: Forerunner-Promethean, Commander of the Forerunner military, husband of the Librarian

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Telepathy, Telekinesis, Technological Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Enhanced Senses, Information Analysis, Data Manipulation (Comparable to other Prometheans, who can create beings of pure information and transform living beings to data), Energy Manipulation (Capable of creating Shockwaves from his armor), Portal Creation, Homing Attack and Dimensional BFR (Able to create ruptures to Slipstream-Space. Superior to the Warden Eternal who can create, and throw a Slipspace rupture that tracks its target), Biological Manipulation (Comparable to other Forerunners who can modify the genetic structure of living beings, and even devolve them to a lesser state), Teleportation (Comparable to other Forerunner Warriors who were able to Teleport to other Forerunner Installations) Levitation/Restricted Flight, Reactive Evolution (Forerunners' Warrior armor could "evolve" during and after long fights), Summoning (Can summon hundreds of Promethean Knights, Soldiers, Crawlers and Watchers that follow his command) Projectile Reflection (Promethean Watchers can create Hardlight shields capable of deflecting projectiles), Immortality (Type 1 2, and 6, Master Chief stated that the Didact was only temporarily stopped after his supposed vaporization, WOG confirms that he is still alive), Regenerationn (At least High-Low, regenerated an eye, likely Low-Mid, comparable to other Prometheans who've regenerated from loosing body parts, possibly higher, even after having his body completely vaporized, Master Chief stated that he was just temporally stopped), Transmutation with the Composer (Turned the entire population of a city of 42 million into digital essence), Adaptation (Forerunner armor is able to adapt to various planets' ecosystem), Resistance to Extreme Temperatures, Radiation, Diseases, High Gravity, Pai, the Vacuum of Space, and Transmutation (Highly-resistant to the effects of the Composer).

Attack Potency: At least Small City level+ (Can survive the ouput of two Composers and damage enemies of this level of durability, very casually ionized a metal barrier), possibly City level (Broke the Hardlight shackles used by Cortana to restrain him, said shackles were connected the the Mantle's Approach's power grid that later generated a bubble around Master Chief that withstood the HAVOK nuke, Master Chief implied he could've destroyed the UNSC Infinity, but by what means is unknown) the Composer can also Ignore conventional durability

Speed: At least SuperHuman movement speed with at least Supersonic combat speed and Reactions, likely higher (His suit is far more sophisticated and powerful than Master Chief's, the Chief's suit by Forerunner Standards is considered a class 2 Combat Skin, whereas the Didact's is a class 18+. Should be faster than Kelly-087, the fastest Spartan)

Lifting Strength: At least Class 10+ (Far stronger than the likes of Atriox, and Warden Eternal, both of whom are much stronger than Master Chief, can lift and toss Spartans like toys), likely higher with Constraint Fields (Capable of restraining other Prometheans)

Striking Strength: At least Small City Class+, possibly City Class (Able to trade blows with other High Ranking Prometheans, who should be comparable to him),

Durability: At least Small City level+ (Can take hits from other ancient Prometheans with no problem. Completely unaffected by Promethean weapons), possibly City level (Vastly more powerful than the Warden Eternal, effortlessly tanked a burst from two Composers, and was confident he could survive five Composers at once)

Stamina: Nearly limitless (With their suits, Forerunners require no sleep and can fight on for days. Unaffected by having a knife driven several inches into his eye socket.)

Range: Tens of metres with constraint fields, Low Multiversal with Scanners (The Didact was able to conduct studies on a planetary system's traces of the photonic realm, the Glow), thousands of kilometres with his ship's weapons and the Composer, Galactic with Slipspace travel. At least 200 kilometers Area of Effect with The Composer

Standard Equipment: Forerunner Combat Skin, his flagship, the Mantle's Approach, and the Composer. Various Promethean Weapons.

Intelligence: Genius. He commanded the entire Forerunner military for several eons and controlled the Promethean Knights for the duration of his return in Halo 4. Each Promethean is also able to control million strong phalanxes of fighters such as Phaetons. Was still able to function even after been driven insane by The Gravemind, and locked inside a Cryptum for a hundred thousand years to dwell in his own madness.

Weaknesses: Is egotistical and will sometimes hold back against "Inferior lifeforms"; Anti-hacking system has limits and has been defeated by the likes of Cortana. The Composer is useless against machines, and beings similar to The Flood. His summoned Prometheans are far below his physical tier.

Didact scales to 30 megatons. While Esdeath is far superior to a 20 megaton feat done by......standing.

Nevermind. For some reason I thought Didact was baseline via powerscaling while Esdeath was 40+ MT.

Yeah. Also, the Didact doesn't use his more advanced abilities right away. So Esdeath could take him out before he tried to use them. But if the Didact does use either The Composer, throws a Slipspace Rupture, or Devolves her into a cavewoman, she's done.

I'm going to try not to decide who wins, just getting the ball rolling.

.....

How did I not know this was going to happen?

But yeah, Esdeath is too much of a ****** to use her time Stop immediately, although she does love to freeze her opponents.

Didact is too much of an arrogant arse to lead with his atomization stuff, granted that may change considering his opponent isn't a fodder.

Need to think this over but I'm kinda leaning towards the Didact, but I think I'll leave at inconclusive for now.

It should be noted that the Didact could possibly resist Mahapdama. As his armor is designed to adapt to extremely cold tempatures, likely going down to the tempatures Esdeath has been shown to freeze (Freezing Nitrogen/Oxygen into solid ice) That, and his armor has adaptation/reactive evolution to a degree, as in inferior to Incursio's reactive evolution.

How much time takes his armor to evolve and adapt in mid fight?

Also, what are the best hax he had adapt it against?

Forerunner armor is designed to adapt to the enviorments of extreme planets. With tempatures likely going down to the freezing point of air.

No hax in particular, but the Didact's armor can mainly adapt to energy attacks.

A realistic estimate for the armor to adapt to said conditions was like a few seconds iirc. Much of the stuff about the Didact is in the Forerunner novels, witch I really need to re-read.

I'm not even going to question him resisting Time Stop from that.

But just for the heck of it, how cold can these temperatures drop?

Esdeath freezes Nitrogen into solid ice, witch is -196C.

Forerunners regularly go to planets with extreme tempatures, a planet with tempatures this low is likely among them.

The Didact's hatred of Humanity is what lead him to aquire the Composer and turn millions of people into Prometheans with it. As Esdeath is Human, he is likely to activate it when he realizes he can't get near Esdeath with her ice attacks and such, he'd want to turn her into a Promethean

I know Didact has an AP disadvantage as well as a holding back tendency, but if he can no-sell Esdeath's trump card and has that much of a hax advantage, is that fair?

What Hax advantage?

He has exactly one Hax that actually means anything.

Gonna need to clear up about his hax then: Which ones are close-ranged, which ones long-ranged? Any contact-based hax/ thought-based hax?

Everything that isn't the composer doesn't have enough range

Composer itself IDK how it's used.

The Didact can devolve Esdeath into a cavewoman if he gets within that range, but he's unlikely to get that close. However, idk how Esdeath would counter a tracking/homing slipspace portal.

The Composer is activated remotely from his ship, witch is in orbit as per standard equipment

I hate to do it, but it's been bugging me for a while, Versus it's *which. You keep using the one for spooky old women.

So the composer is didacts win con, but he likely won't start off with it, right? So how long would it take Esdeath to kill him giant ice chuncks?

It won't take long for him to realize he's unable to get too close, so that would be when he'd fire the Composer.

Esdeath is a Human,a nd the Didact hates Humans. After some time, he wouldn't hesitate to add her to his Promethean army, aka Compose.

Esdeath my look human, but she's all Demon

Hmm, I guess The Didact FRA. The Composer seems pretty hard to counter.

So what weapons does Didact have in personal combat and what powers does he have on his own? Profile looks a bit messy

E becomes D's slave or corpse FRA

Graf Thorsdottir said:

He can manifest hardlight constructs, and energy to attack with.

Also, we ignored The Didact's teleportation. As he's superior to Fodder Prometheans capable of spamming it in tens of meters range.

Graf Thorsdottir said:
So he's like a Green Lantern then? Does he create energy forcefields with it? And does he spam teleport?
Since there will be a bunch of ice projectiles coming at him, he would. As mindless, fodder Prometheans even do so.

And yes, he can create forcefields out of hardlight

Yeah. Okay. Didact has my vote then.

With that distance, Esdeath spams range. Didact either creates force-field and feels the punch her ranged attacks pack and decides to teleport in close to devolve her, or teleports around and do it from the start.
