So what exactly happened when Ichigo beat Yhwach, I get that this is normally seen as PIS usually, but I really just want to discuss what you think really happened and why Yhwach couldn't beak all of Zangetsu, and it look like The Almighty didn't work, not because of Uryu's Arrow in that moment, but Ichigo himself, I have a few theories

1. Ichigo just straight up overpowered the almighty, and because he was greatly stronger for that one moment, he Power Nulled the Almighty and killed Yhwach

2. The Quincy version of Zangetsu, somehow protected Ichigo and prevented his real version from hurting in that moment, almost like a super Blut Vene, that could stop even the Almighty

3. Yhwach screwed up in his head, and just couldn't properly see the furture after being killed and coming back, so he randomly activated the Almighty and simply got Unlucky

4. I'm overthinking this and it was just the Arrow

I really want to hear what others think, and I would prefer it if we didn't use the PIS Argument, at least for This discussion

Arrow hitting to Yhwach(who can see every possible future and alter them the way he pleases.) is the most bullshit thing that ever happened in anime history.

Don't bring "But he wasn't gazing at Uryu" thing. That is also nonsense.

It was a mixture of Uryu's Innate Powers, Uryu's Anti-Thesis and Still Silver nullifying The Almighty.

1) Recall from earlier in the arc, per Yhwach's own words, Uryu has an innate power that is superior to Yhwach's power: http://imgur.com/a/xsC8v Leading us to realize Uryu somehow transcends Yhwach in a way.

2) The Anti-Thesis was directly stated by a The Almighty user to be a viable counter to The Almighty: https://imgur.com/a/6LAOtJ6 Revealing that The Almighty most likely had no way to counter Uryu's ability in that moment. A key note to this point is that the arrow appeared to have entered Yhwach from his back...but Uryu was in front of Yhwach...meaning that Uryu had to have used Anti-Thesis to get the arrow to Yhwach's back, he didn't fire it at Yhwach in the first place: https://i.imgur.com/CPmiFHy.png He had to have used his Anti-Thesis, a counter to The Almighty, to hit Yhwach. Coupled with Uryu being immune to Yhwach's power, it adds up.

3) Still Silver straight up nullifies The Almighty: https://i.imgur.com/MrMJnPT.png No need to explain that.

So all in all, the scene seems bad, but when you add the pieces and tidbits we were given, it makes some sense that someone who was immune to Yhwach's powers, has an ability that counters Yhwach's powers and an attack that nullifies Yhwach's powers was able to get by Yhwach's powers and cause Yhwach to lose.

I know this is an Old thread, but now that Brave Souls has True Bankai Ichigo, and Jump force will have him as well I am even more confused, the games make it seem like Ichigo breaking his blade and using the True Zangetsu is something Ichigo intentionally does, so why didn't Ywach's Almighty work

@Demon

For BBS, they need a different model from the base when he uses his boost. Plus the panel when we see OG Zangetsu is awesome. For Jump Force I have no clue.

That makes since, but why'd Yhwach keep the only person who could kill him alive? Was he naive enough to think that Uryu wouldn't betray him? Kubo was trying to do something more with the story there, but he kinda got swepted out of the office while he was drawing those pages. Poor execution sadly.
