Well SK characters are now a measly 4 tons, but their lifting strength is a metric shitton higher! All that means that this needs to be redone.

A Scythe Wielder with Elemental Intangibility
Shiki EV
==Summary==

Shiki is a playable character from the Senran Kagura video game series. She makes her debut in Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus.

A first-year student at Gessen Girls' Academy. She uses high-spirited gyaru language (adapted as "valley girl" speak in the English version) and makes friends everywhere she goes, often texting them at inappropriate times.

Despite her shinobi training and discipline, she hasn't forgotten her younger days as a freewheeling rich girl, and still misses her parents deeply. To soothe her grief, both for her parents and her adopted grandfather Kurokage, she often recites the Heart Sutra to herself.

Powers and Stats
Tier: High 8-C, higher with Frantic Mode

Name: Shiki

Origin: Senran Kagura

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Classification: Shinobi

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Ninjutsu, Aura, Extrasensory Perception, fights with a scythe, Mist Manipulation, Elemental Intangibility, Darkness Manipulation, Shinobi Transformation, Breath Attack (Which inflicts a poison effect), Summoning (can summon bats of varying sizes which can damage her opponent(s) or grant her Flight), Limited Size Manipulation (can control the size of her hat), Limited Telekinesis (Can telekinetically control her scythe and hat), creation of Shinobi Barriers (a fighting space/dimension to hide shinobi from regular civilians and minimize collateral damage), Statistics Amplification (Frantic Mode boosts attack speed and power even further but reduces defense)

Attack Potency: Large Building level (Should be comparable to Yumi and has fought other strong shinobi like Mirai and Yagyu), higher with Frantic Mode

Speed: Supersonic (Can keep up with Yagyu and other shinobi, should be comparable to Murasaki)

Lifting Strength: Unknown, likely Class 50 (Should be comparable to Yagyu)

Striking Strength: Large Building Class

Durability: Large Building level
(Should be comparable to Yumi, took hits from Yagyu and Ryobi), lower with Frantic Mode

Stamina: Above average (Mostly due to her training as a shinobi in Gessen Girls' Academy)

Range: Extended melee range with scythe and several meters with her strongest Ninja Arts and weapons.

Standard Equipment: Double Bladed Scythe, her bat summons

Intelligence: A pretty skilled and experienced fighter as a Gessen shinobi. Multilingual and very knowledgeable on Buddhism. She's also quite tech savvy.

Weaknesses: Can be a bit too carefree. Highly vulnerable when her clothes are completely ripped in battle.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Shin Soku ZX: Shiki summons a group of bats with her blood-red mist and sits on top of them as they carry her and her scythe forward right at her enemies. She bombards them with a rush of bats, blood-red mist and her scythe which hangs to the side. The attack finishes as Shiki pushes her enemies into a corner, dismounts her bats and takes hold of her scythe.
  • Kü Soku ZIX: Shiki takes off her hat and tosses it up into the air, where it expands. Her hat turns upwards and releases a ripple-like wave of darkness that carries many of her bats towards her opponent(s).
  • Sho Gyom ZEX: Shiki creates a puff of smoke, and when it clears, she is completely naked, with her bats acting as censors. She throws her hands up into the air, generating a giant tornado of darkness.
  • Shinobi Transformation: A physical technique that uses the Atrribute of Yang, in where the fundamental essence of the shinobi is used as a battle tool by releasing the body's internal spiritual energy in all six chakras simultaneously.
  • Frantic Mode: A technique that uses the Attribute of Yin, performed by stripping off one's clothing, resulting in a considerable enhancement in speed and attack power by absorbing blood spilled within the shinobi barrier. However, it is a double-edged sword, as it also incurs a significant penalty to defense.

A Scythe Wielder with Elemental Intangibility

Ruby-0
As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!
~ Ruby Rose
RWBY4-ruby-3

You're wrong. We've done things that most people would call impossible, and I know the only reason we were able to do it is because we didn't do it alone! We had people to teach us, people to help us, we had each other. Work with us. At least I know we'll have a better chance if we try together. Please.
~ Ruby, to Rave
Summary
Ruby Rose is the 15-year old leader of Team RWBY attending Beacon Academy two years early, due to her abilities impressing the headmaster. Trained by her Uncle Qrow, Ruby wields a unique weapon named Crescent Rose, a cross between a scythe and a high-caliber sniper rifle that is able to fold up into itself. Her semblance is speed, enabling her to run at rates that are too fast for the eye to catch. As she is the youngest of the group, she can be a bit childish, naive, and weapon-obsessed, but displays leadership qualities and an understanding of people that ultimately led her to be chosen as Team RWBY's leader. She was inspired to become a Huntress by the fairy tales her half-sister Yang read her, wanting to become just like the heroes in the stories. She is determined to make the world a better place for others and try to stop the forces that conspire against it.

Powers and Stats
Tier: 8-C | High 8-C

Name:
Ruby Rose

Origin: RWBY

Gender: Female

Age: 15 (Volumes 1―3), 16 (Volume 4)

Classification: Human, Beacon Academy student, Huntress-in-training, Leader of Team RWBY

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Expert Scythe wielder and marksma, Aura (Able to use her Aura for numerous purposes), Forcefield Creation (Aura can be used as a full-body forcefield), Statistics Amplification (Can use Aura to enhance her striking power), Enhanced Senses (Can use her Aura to sharpen her senses), Regenerationn (Mid-Low), Potential Realizatio (Can unlock the Aura of another person), Super Speed (Able to increase her speed with her Semblance), Pseudo-Flight (Can propel herself using Crescent Rose), Elemental Manipulation (Can load various Dust-charged clips that enhance her shots with elemental properties - these include Fire, Ice, Electricity, and Gravity), Immobilizatio (Able to freeze objects/living things in place with Silver Eyes) | All previous abilities plus Flight, Elemental Intangibility, and Pseudo-Duplication via her Semblance

Attack Potency: Building level+ (Displaced several tonnes of rock while dragging a Nevermore up a cliff) | Large Building level (Ca one-shot Nevermores, which previously took the combined efforts of her entire team to accomplish. Blocked strikes from a Beringel, which collapsed the roof of a large church on a whim)

Speed: Hypersonic (Comparable to Yang Xiao Long, who can run this fast while crossing a bridge, and Weiss Schnee, who could travel this fast while fighting Flynt. Consistently reacts to bullets and consistently keeps up other bullet timers like Mercury Black), higher with her Semblance (Dashed and blitzed Team JPNR, trapping them on a vortex with her speed) | Hypersonic+ (Equal to Blake Belladonna and comparable to Sun Wukong. Deflected Tyrian's shots and Emerald's bullets), higher with her Semblance

Lifting Strength: Class K (Could easily pin down and carry a Nevermore up vertical cliff)

Striking Strength: Building Class+ | Large Building Class

Durability:
Building level+ (Can tank a kick from Mercury Black, whose fight against Yatsuhashi generated a shockwave with this much energy. Tanked a hit from Nora Valkyrie, who consistently has feats on this level) | Large Building level (Took a direct hit from the Nuckelavee, which required the combined efforts of Team RNJR to defeat. Withstood a direct punch from a Beringel)

Stamina: High (Ruby can mutilate hordes of monsters by herself and shows no signs of fatigue in battle at all)

Range: Extended melee range with Crescent Rose, at least hundreds of meters with sniper rifle

Standard Equipment: Crescent Rose, Dust ammunition

Intelligence: High, especially regarding combat and weapons (Ruby is extremely knowledgeable regarding weapons, having designed and built Crescent Rose from scratch during her time at Signal Academy, and being able to name every individual part of her weapon. She is capable of analyzing a weapon she's never seen before down to the function and the material it's made of just by looking at it once, even when suffering from severe stage fright. She also possesses superb combat prowess, having received training from her uncle Qrow. She is capable of taking on entire hordes of Grimm on her own and walking away without a scratch and utilizing the different functionalities of the Crescent Rose, such as the massive recoil from the rifle aspect of the weapon and the weapon's transformtive capabilities, in tandem with each other and her Semblance in order to maintain an edge over her opponent. Ozpi himself has stated that it would take someone with skill comparable to that of Qrow in order to wield Crescent Rose to its fullest efficiency)

Weaknesses: Ruby is somewhat reckless, Continual damage to her Aura will cause it to decay to the point where she can be left open to more significant damage, Inept at hand-to-hand combat | Unable to use Silver Eyes willingly and to their fullest extent (She has only demonstrated the ability to utilize the Silver Eyes involuntarily in situations where people she cares about have been or are in danger of being killed, such as after witnessing Pyrrha being murdered in front of her or Cinder almost killing Jaune. The initial result of using the Silver Eyes left her unconscious for several days with no recollection of what happened prior, though this may have been due to the magnitude to which the ability was used, as when she saved Jaune the ability was far less powerful)

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Crescent Rose: Ruby's weapon, a large Scythe/High-Caliber Sniper Rifle hybrid that she wields with expert proficiency. The Crescent Rose possesses a converting frame, allowing Ruby to transform from a compact storage mode, a rifle mode, and an expanded scythe mode. The weapon's rifle mode takes the form of a medium-length, bolt-action rifle. In this form, the absence of the scythe makes for more effective use of the rifle component. In its fully expanded scythe mode, Crescent Rose makes for a deadly mid-to-close-range bladed melee weapon. This form also doubles as a long-barrel sniper rifle for long-range shots without giving up the melee capabilities of the scythe. The Crescent Rose's rifle has a massive recoil, but instead of compensating for it, Ruby harnesses it to enhance her mobility in combat, firing shots to propel herself short distances, simultaneously attacking and evading opponents, and using it to launch herself through the air. In melee combat, Ruby can fire a shot immediately before a swing, using the recoil to increase the force and speed of her attack. She can also embed the scythe's blade into the ground to prevent the weapon's recoil from throwing off her aim with the sniper rifle component, allowing for rapid, accurate shots. If needed, the bottom of the shaft can unfold to add more cutting power in a close-range fight while also rotating the barrel of the rifle, enabling the recoil to rotate Ruby instead of launching her forward, increasing the slicing power drastically.
    • Dust Ammunition: Crescent Rose is able to use different kinds of Dust ammunition, as as first seen in the "Red" Trailer when she used Gravity Dust after reloading it with the said magazine, and later demonstrated again in RWBY: Grimm Eclipse and Volume 4.
      • Fire Dust: Shoots fire from the muzzle of Crescent Rose.
      • Ice Dust: Allows Ruby to fire ice projectiles from Crescent Rose capable of encasing foes in ice.
      • Gravity Dust: Increases the recoil effect when firing the Crescent Rose, propelling Ruby at increased speeds.
      • Electric Dust: Fires an electric projectile that briefly paralyzes the target. The discharge from this type of round can also create chain lightning which spreads to surrounding targets.
    • Crescendo: Ruby spins her scythe in a circle and damages enemies, pulling enemies closer with each hit and smashing enemies back with the final strike.
    • Reap: Ruby jumps into the air and spins downwards with her scythe, damaging the ground and using the debris as projectiles to damage enemies.
  • Semblance: Speed: Ruby's Semblance is Speed, an ability which allows her to move at a much greater speed than what she is normally capable of, appearing as nothing but a red blur leaving rose petals in its wake. She is capable of using this ability in midair as a means of flight, using it to repeatedly change directions in mid-air and attack at high speeds, and to create powerful whirlwinds that can suck in and knock away objects and foes caught by it and envelop her enemy in a tornado-like rush of air. She also exhibited the ability to seemingly transform into three separate clusters of rose petals, allowing her to flow around an opponent before reforming.
  • Silver Eyes: A mysterious and powerful ability Ruby inherited from her mother, Summer, the Silver Eyes manifests as blindingly bright light emitted from Ruby's eyes. Ruby has only demonstrated this ability twice. Once after witnessing Pyrrha's death at the hands of Cinder, and once when fighting Cinder and her faction. Although, she currently has no control over or even any idea how to utilize this power, it has shown to be capable of incapacitating the Grimm Dragon and inflicting debilitating wounds on Cinder.

Well seems like people aren't digging the Kat vs Merc one very much so maybe I'll give this old one a bump

Shinobi fight each other on a daily basis, right? IIRC Ruby was struggling against a Beringel, so I think Shiki should have the edge with both AP and experience.

They fight each other pretty much daily, yes, but after Shinovi Versus they no longer try to kill each other during their fights. Shiki has fought yoma as well which are, in a loose analogy, essentially the Grimm of the SK-verse. Overall I'd say, though, that Ruby has a slight edge in experience fighting people who are actually trying to kill her

Well, if I recall, almost everyone who were trying to kill Ruby were stomping her all around, so I don't think it's relevant.

She wasn't struggling with it, it just took more effort than the group of fodder she shredded beforehand including the nevermore she fodder iced which were on the beringel's level

Shiki also has a barelt 2x advantage that ruby can close with her semblance and shiki's durability gets lowered if ahe amps her ap

Idk why would you repost that, since my argument wasn't relevant to that.

Since when does Ruby's semblance amp her strength? And why would Shiki amp herself when she has an advantage?

@Arrogant Question, what exactly does shiki turn into for her elemental intangibility?

@Reb Pre timeskip ruby was able to take down pyrrha who is a full tier higher than her using her semblance and took down down a beringel easily with it post rimes kipper when the beringel was fighting her on even grounds

I'll get back you on that when I'm home from work and at my computer. In the meantime, Shiki should also have Breath Attack on her profile which I'll be adding as well

I really doubt that Pyrrha would have been serious about a god-damn food fight.

From my memory, both characters start in range for each other via SBA, so Ruby will likely go for CQC.

Not being serious doesn't decrease her durability nor does it lower the amount of collateral damage ruby did including taking out all four members of jnpr, putting a massive crater in the wall behind her when she cane to an abrupt stop after using it, and creating a slipstream large enough to fill the massive dining hall they were fighting in with a tornado.

By sba they start at the max range of rhe highest ranged character, so ruby would have the advantage at the start of the fight on top of leading with range just as many times as she leada with cqc post timeskip

"The characters start as far away from each other as the highest range of the fighters is..."

Fighters, not a fighter.

Btw, I apologize, but I'm having a hard time taking a food fight as an argument, no matter how serious you think it was.

And even if we take it at face value, Ruby's Semblance was never stated to amplify her strength, and considering how consistently inconsistent RWBY is, it's safe to assume it's an outlier.

@Reb

"The characters start as far away from each other as the highest range of the fighters is, but a maximum of 4 kilometers. For example, if one character has a range of 10 meter and the other has a range of 20 meter they start 20 meter apart."

Weekly is right

Yes, the highest range between the two fighters is several hundred meters via ruby's range

Take it seriously or dont, its a legitimate feat.

None of the characters Semblance's were actually STATED to do anything, Even Yang's semblance didn't have an in show description until season 4 despite it being used multiple times since the yellow trailer. Ruby has literally only used her semblance as an attack twice, the first time took out someone stronger than herself and three people comparable, the second time she took out someone comparable, its consistent.

I know, R I G H T?

I'm pretty sure Ruby blatanly described Yang's semblance in Volume 2, but whatever. And again, Ruby harming Pyrrha via Semblance is the only case I have on my mind, while on the other hand she got casually kicked out of it by Mercury in Vol. 3

@Reb Because she wasnt using a slipstream, also mercury is confirmed to be stronger than pyrrha by wog

How exactly does she make it though? And could you provide a quote?

It's not explicitly stated, she just did, she did the same thing when rescuing penny and again against the beringel. I'll try to post clips when im home but right now I'm no mobile and cant

Because pre timeskip ruby can't use it on on a whim as she had yet to master her semblance, as seen when she used used a slipstream on accident while helping penny escape her guards. Post timeskip ruby mastered her semblance and can now do it on on a whim and has demonstrated the ability to do so against both the beringel and the petra gigas.

Bump

Oddly enough SK characters could win almost any battle they encounter via Shinobi Barriers. They can create one at a moment's notice and the only way to exit one is if the creator lets you. It's a ludicrously easy and 100% legitimate means of BFR, but this has literally not once been done canonically, for whatever reason.

Honestly I think Ruby, Hibari, and Minori would get along really well and have more in common.

Now for the match up in question, I think Shiki takes this with High difficulty.

Ruby is once again more mobile but her opponent can also fly and has EI, while I still believe Ruby is better (Flying) it doesn't change the fact that it limits her advantages.

Her Dust ammo will help a lot but I Shiki's posion is the more useful ability. Especially since it's something you breath in instead of going through the skin.

I'm not getting into skill.

Also because of her own EI, Ruby sniping isn't a option either. In the end this will come out to going up close and since Shiki has the AP advantage with posion breath.

It's only a matter of time till Ruby falls.(I'm voting Shiki)

Also I want to put Adam against someone from Senran Kagura now that he's been downgraded. Who would you think would be a good opponent for him?

I think Shiki has more of a chance than Ruby. Aura doesn't cover poison so she's kinda screwed in that regard. But if Shiki uses Sho Gyom ZEX, will she be very vulnerable?
