I think I figured out something we can use that'd be more reliable than using an average size for Hollows. Which is average fog formation heights. They are on average 200-500 meters thick (This also makes calculating their KE super easy since you'll have the depth right off the bat).
hmm, interesting. i assume you're suggesting that you'd just use the fog depth shown here as a reference for the size of the hollow instead?

would you just measure the cloud of fog diagonally then and use that to determine it's thickness? so something like this?

No, thickness is top to bottom. Not front to back. Honestly you can see the thickness better when it disperses as a frame of reference.

But what I'd do is edit a circle around the Hollow so you can see how deep into the clouds it goes, and then use the clouds on the right side of it and measure it top to bottom (since you can see the cloud wrapping around the Hollow on the right side because there's a little space there).

Close. But notice that the shot is pictured at a diagonal angle. The depth/line should match up with the angle (i.e. the bottom should be pointing to the left and lining up with the Hollow).

I would also say try to make the circle as perfect as you can in terms of matching up with the Hollow's shape.

That's closer yes. I don't know if the Hollow is touching the floor or not, or if it's a complete sphere a little off of the ground. If it's not, the green line works. If the Hollow is touching the floor, then the green line has to end where the bottom of the sphere ends because otherwise it implies the fog is going beneath solid ground.

it's hard to tell because we don't really get any clear shots of the hollow. considering both sunbringer and the giant ethereal seem to be fighting on the ground prior to the hollow's collapse though (and considering basically 95% of the hollows we see in the game are in the ground and not airborne) i think the safer assumption would be that it's probably touching the floor

but then it wouldn't be a full sphere if that was the case. it'd more than likely just be a half-dome like all the other hollows we see in game which i feel might throw off the fog's depth a bit. not really sure though

You can just make two ends for the calculation using two different measurements. Just explain the reason behind each and let the CGM decide what they think works best.

Funny enough there's also a Shiyu pillar there which might not be to scale but worth checking

And that's only if the Fog method is seen as favorable by various approval.

But that also brings up the dichotomous situation of which end? (Regarding a Grounded Hollow or an Airborne Hollow, I mean.)

Such is the life of covering for all bases. 🚬

i was gonna do a KE calc for the fog but i don't think i'm confident enough in my calcing ability to get an accurate result for that ngl. also having to recalc the stupid crater multiple times was making me lose my mind 💀

Just gonna make up a random number for the yellow line bc I don’t feel like pixel scaling it, gonna say it’s half of the crater’s radius (300m).
Volume= pie(R^2-r^2)H
R being the outer radius (yellow line up to the center of the crater)
r being the radius of the hollow.
volume= pie(757^2-457^2)325=371,853,620.4m^3.
Density of fog is 1.2 kg/m^3

371,853,620.4x1.2=446,224,344.48kg.
Distance dispersed is the yellow line (300m) with time frame being 4 frames (0.16 sec)
Speed is 1,800m/s.
KE=12*446,224,344.48*1,800^2=1.735e16 joules
Small city. Obv the number can go up or down with proper measurements.
You already got most of the work done, just got a little more work to do so if you down for it that’s how I’d personally calc it.
