zangetsu or white?

if ichigo were to became a hollow (like, naturally. he would live a normal human life, die one day outta whatever, then maybe get stuck in the real wolrd. after while, a soul starts to become a hollow cuz of the chain fate's slow fading and eating of itself) would that hollow be hichigo (aka real zangetsu, his zanpakuto's spirit) or white (the hollow that aizen created which bit ichigo's mom and was later transfered onto him)? ps, I DID ASK THIS ON THE BLEACH WIKI, BUT NOBODY ANSWERED, SO NOW IM JUST CURIOUS TO SEE UR OPINIONS.

if they were one and the same, then ishin woudve been fighting zangetsu, who wasnt even a thing at the time, meaning that they are related in a few ways, but by no means are they the same.

There are 2 Zangetsu's.

• White, fused with Ichigo's Shinigami powers on birth.

• Quincy Zangetsu comes from Yhwach's soul on birth.

The real Zangetsu is the Merged form of both Zangetsu.

But if Ichigo was to hollowfied before his powers were fused, White Zangetsu would take over his body, and his Quincy powers too.

No. One was yawabha's blood that used ichigo's hollow powers as his own. Thats why he was limited like that (example: he gave ichigo full control and power over his hollow/shinigami powers (they are stated to be about the same) which turned out to be his dangai form. Then he learned fullbring (which came from white mixing in with his mom and was passed down to him) which amped his hollow powers even further (that could also explain why he didnt use any masks until the last arc), and later on he received an actual sword from the blacksmith guy (he gave ichigo an actual asauchi, and not a sword made from his, his hollows, and rukias energies combined) which led to his quincy blood being separated and unable to interfere with his hollow anymore (so much so that he had to reawaken zangetsu by using his quincy powers as a means of stirring up his hollow powers so that they could come out again). If hichigo and white were the same, then hichigo wouldnt look like ichigo at all. He would look like white, who was a whole different being from ichigo, so there would no reason for them to look alike at all.

White is Zangetsu. White fused with Ichigo's soul on birth, and his shinigami powers. Zanpakuto's are once soul. That's why he looks like Ichigo.
