If those AP values are to be believed, Yamcha is almost seven times stronger and more durable than Dan. But even if he wasn't, Yamcha is an actual competent fighter with legitimate martial arts training and useful powers at his disposal. Dan is a joke fighter who fights using a martial art he made up himself and can't even throw a fireball properly.
