Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Spoiler Discussion Thread

Tbf stuff like the 'is SotE Logos?' question hasn't technically aged well for any of us. I'll have to recollect my thoughts at some point before I give you a solid answer to that question.

There will probably be a dash of 'death of the author' among other things, I can guarantee you that much.

Like I said to Tdude just a little bit ago, the circumstances of people meming XCXDE into existence means that the announcement didn't even register with me at first. It was literally in my feed for about 5 mins and I'm like 'wait, this is actually real?'

Though this is in-line with how Monolith has been releasing Xeno games as of recent. Typically its "number game's life span" -> port -> "number game's life span" -> port
In this scenario it has been Xenoblade 2 with it ending with Torna (2018) then we get Xenoblade 1 DE (2020), we then get Xenoblade 3 (2022) with its lifespan ending with Future Redeemed (2023) and now we are getting Xenoblade X DE (2025). From this pattern we're likely to get Xenoblade 4 at around 2027 or something.

With its DLC expansion in 2028?

They basically got completely turned into swords; the swords Rex duel wields.
This is not true. These are just replicas based on their swords. What happens is that for an unknown reason, Pyra and Mythra return to their Core Crystals (as Pneuma, so just one Core Crystal), which ends up in Matthew's gauntlets and is the source of the power of Ouroboros

Did Miyamoto confirm this?
I was in a discussion a while back when XB3 was new. My friend thought "They died" but I mentioned the swords Rex carries, then he responded with "They're sword corpses."

But Clover actually clarified something else and yeah, Pneuma being the core Aegis crystal part is true. But the ending of XB2 pretty much split Pyra and Mythra as their own people being able to exist at the same time.

So they’re still connected? I would have thought becoming separate people would mean they had separate independent cores. So if one reverts they both do?

That, I am unsure. For all we know, the Pyra and Mythra bodies might not have even had Aegis Crystals anymore. The Pneuma personality did just become one and eventually ended up what empowers Fists of the End. We also do know Pyra and Mythra did have a kid each, but unknown who Mythra's kid is specifically. Pyra has Glimmer, Nia has Mio, but unknown about Mythra.

I always just headcanoned that after Xenoblade 2 they're able to fuse into Pneuma at will
This would be the logical conclusion. I wouldn't be sure otherwise how you throw away The World Tree's administrative privileges and still come out with Origin on the other end otherwise.

Do yall think the whole "you'll lose yours powers once The Conduit vanishes" thing that Klaus said to Pneuma was retconned given all the reality warping crap we see characters like Ontos and Pneuma's core after their supposing nerf.

I've seen people theorize discrepancies in Alvis behaviour as being explained by the Bionis/Mechonis being 'equivalencies' to the other two Aegis core crystals (which is inherently contradictory for the simple fact that Alvis would not act the way he does in FR if Pneuma and Logos's CCs were in fact End weapons (yes, I know you'll bring up the Mar/Apr translations - I invoke death of the author immediately)), but I wouldn't personally mind that too much if Alvis was either A) a backup for Pneuma's powers (Origin, after all, being a reconciliation of XC1 and 2's worlds), or B) the Conduit just simply ended up somewhere in the Bionis's remains, and either becomes a partial explanation for fog beasts/annihilation events, or exists just outside either world, so something akin to Pneuma's powers (and all Aegis powers, for that matter) are just allowed to be a thing after the fact.

In fact - let me reword that slightly:

What if a sentient Alvis (the XC1... one) was the way he was, simply because he wanted to distance himself from the Conduit? What is it about the Conduit that could drive him to be a despondent Zanza 2.0?

We know it can't be the loss of memories after returning to a CC, because all blades have some kind of base personality absent from the influence of their drivers. And it can't be Na'el awakening either revision of Ontos, because while she is cynical at the world, she's not nearly despondent enough to warrant Alvis going scorched earth like he ends up attempting for the sake of the city folk.

Alvis acted to oppose Z and Origin, and condemns Klaus... but nothing in-lore is really saying "Klaus is when Z and Origin" (if anything, the two worlds wanting to become one again is also a rejection of his philosophy because Klaus is the one who split the universes to begin with). What does that leave us with?

What reality warping stuff has Pneuma's core done in XB3? And maybe they only lose some of their powers?
