Why is no one interested in any of my OCs?

I'm gonna disengage from this for obvious reasons, but like, dude, turn off the computer, step outside, and calm down. People telling you the problems with your manga is NOT that deep.
I'm gonna take my own advice and skedaddle, because clearly you are about to explode and overreact again because we're being as honest as we can with you... I'll just leave you with this to think about.
Nobody hates you just because your manga has it's issues, it'd be ridiculous to hold a grudge for that, but i think people are under the impression (including myself) that you won't take any nitpicks lightly, especially after... that thread. Which is not what a successful writer does.

The reaction to someone saying anything even slightly negative about your manga was blown way out of proportion back there. Nobody has anything against you personally. They just dislike how you're seemingly unable to handle any criticism at all and how you went after a mod for something as small as that too. You only take that as 'insulting' because people are being honest with you about how all this powerscaling stuff is kinda sorta really bad for it. They are telling you how to improve it, but you wound up escalating it way too much with that thread from a couple days ago.

I was told that people would be interested in my weaker OCs so I posted them and it's been days with no interaction. For reference, when I posted about my manga, I got replies within a day, even if they weren't positive. But people don't even have anything negative to say about the OCs I posted. I wasn't going to post them before but people assured me that I'd get people interested in them if I posted them and I believed it. I'm starting to assume that was a lie and that no one actually cares about them. At this point, I'd rather be insulted than ignored.
I posted a bunch of stories I wrote on the FC/OC Discord. A few people said they would read it, but after a few weeks, the only interaction it'd gotten was one person reacting to the start of one of them.

A lot of this sort of stuff just doesn't get interaction, and idk why. In other communities, the comments I've gotten on my writings have generally been quite positive. Maybe people in these communities just have too many works of fiction on their plate to put serious effort into engaging with others people bring up.

Alright fine. What is a wiki that scales characters similarly to VSBW but isn't full of assholes?
This is also mutually exclusive to being in this neck of the woods, trust me. VSBW is considered by some of the old school guys to be tame, and as someone who was on Google+ I'm prone to agree.

Another website you can go to, if you want to make profiles of characters, is the Character Stats and Profiles Wiki.

But idrk whether or not there are other similar websites with less toxic communities. I don't really spend much time on them, since I already have this one for profile-making purposes. I'd expect the same holds true for others here.

It's a lot of text to put them all in one thread though. That's the main reason I didn't do it. People wouldn't want to read that much text.
VSBW users are like, the LAST people that wouldn't want to read or write walls of text lol. Most of them take time to process and think about what's presented. Although we do still have our limits at times and there's a text cap on the forum so if I were you, I'd make wiki blogs, profile sandboxes, and/or maybe split it into multiple parts as users do that to make it easier to follow. That way you're very less likely to break the rules, still be able to edit your own posts, and share those with people.

I'm sorry but you are all getting on my nerves. You deny you are making attacks, nitpick everything I say, and refuse to help me leave.
And you’re getting on everyone else’s nerves.

You also still refuse to comprehend that you can just put this down and leave entirely on your own, as I am doing now.

I want to leave but I also don't want to end up in constant arguments again and I will if I find out that every single profile is illogical.

I can't leave on my own because I have nowhere to go. I don't want to sort through every single powerscaling wiki ever created.

But what drama.

Like, what's the difficulty here? Whether you want to do it about your OCs, as mentioned, just create a discussion for it, the size doesn't matter if it's interesting enough.

Didn't get any views even after that? So participate more in the community, in the topics in this section of FC/OC or vsbattle like "fun and games". A lot of people do VS, tournament or discussion of OCs or just writing in general.

Despite being a powerscaling wiki, not many people like it when something is explicitly exaggerated, or when it seems to be just about that.

If you can't integrate very well because of the hostility, then try to start over, go to ongoing discussions and participate, if you see it, share your most palatable OCs and not the ones with exaggerated power since you already know that this community doesn't like it very much, try to avoid it for now.

You said you're from the Undertale and AUs fandom (I was too)? Go to the general Undertale discussion, ask people which AUs they liked best, why, ask if they had their own AUs and continue the discussion.

I'm not overreacting. Everyone has been trying to cause me emotional pain since I posted my first OC here. But at this point, I don't even know if it's because of the OCs or arguments. It's likely that y'all saw my profile pic and immediately considered me less than human. You already know I am emotionally unstable. I mentioned that very early on.
People genuinely don't care about that or think that way about you, chill, and breathe for a second.

To keep this short theres two reasons why what your posting even before I locked everything wasn't getting any replies.

1. The FC/OC Section of the forum has no where near the same level of activity as VSB. It's a rather small subsection.

2. Your posts in other parts of the forum have not been the most well put, the spam doesn't help that.

Is that enough to hate anyone over though? No. **** no.

The lack of activity isn't a reason when I posted about my manga in the same section and got replies immediately.

It got replies for other reasons. It wasn't being released concurrently with a dozen or so other thread topics. More importantly however is what was being described and talked about in that threads comments. FC/OC has a very stressful history with characters being made or buffed simply to fit into a tier or what the author considers the strongest. That mindset is and has proven to rather destructive to both the wiki and the author if left unfeathered. This is not helped by the post being the sites introduction to the story at hand.

The character wasn't buffed though. I built the character around the power level because I thought it would be a good starting point for my protagonist. I am best at designing characters around stuff. Whether that be a power level, a specific ability, a theme, a trait, or anything else. I can't just pull decent characters out of thin air and I doubt many writers can.

Thats inherently a problem though, it makes sense to you why they're there, to you it's a cool tier, but to an audience without any context the character runs a very high risk of not being relatable or alien to most readers. You made a comment earlier about not caring about appealing to a mass audience in any capacity. While it's true not all writing is going to respond well with each reader it's important to focus on the readers perspective and getting them to see what you see in your work, or at the very least set them on the right path in that regard. We all come from different backgrounds after all.

Conquest words the main point here pretty well. All of this unnecessary power-scaley stuff like being ‘beyond omnipotent’ and ‘being the strongest anime/manga character’ just isn’t a great recipe for any story. It’s confusing for everybody except for, well, extremely well-rounded powerscalers.

And if readers don’t understand most of the stuff in it, then said manga simply flops if they struggle to follow along. If you chilled out and approached this one thing with an open mind rather than ‘Everyone here hates me because they see problems with my work’ it will make way more sense to you

I've seen people long enough to know what's happening. People technically attack you cuz they attack your ego and hope on making powerful characters.

I'm just here to chill and socially challenge myself to this dude. I know how it feels to be attacked, whether thing they're saying is true or not. Besides, there are countless instances in history where the norm is challenged. Like pangea or germ theory.

Do you want to send me your socials? like do you have discord?

You already know I am emotionally unstable.
You probably shouldn’t be loitering around Internet forums in this case then. Might be best for you to put the computer/ipad/whatever down and seek some help. Or at the very least spend time online in support groups, not vsbw. But if you know you’re extremely volatile and vsbw is only making you worse, the wise thing would be to step away. Then once you’ve calmed down and stabilized a bit, come back, and you’ll have a far better time.

Exactly this. As I said on the first thread we interacted in, these are ideas I do not respect, both as a reader and writer. It's not even about these ideas being a bad recipe, it's that they are genuinely disengaging and, as John points out, triggering of memories of fcoc's past when we were filled to the brim with stuff just like it.

And don't tell me once again that you don't care to put this stuff on the wiki, that's not the point. You shared it here on our forum, so this is all fair game. You also say that "The character wasn't buffed though. I built the character around the power level because I thought it would be a good starting point for my protagonist" and this doesn't work either. It's never a good idea to shoot for power for powers sake.

The overall point is that it resembles what was once purged, and that's a good part of why we don't like it.

Besides that, please, for the love of all things step off the forum for a while. I know you wanna leave anyway but still refuse to for whatever reason so you'll probably ignore me here, but you've expended basically all of your good will with us by this point
