Character A has immense resistance to mind manipulation.

Character B has low level of mind manipulation.

Character B to defeat A must change nature of his attack - he changed nature of mind manipulation to...hug. Since A doesn't resist hug, he gets affect by mind manipulation, because B changed nature of his attack.

A is able to sense killing istinct, but he doesn't react to mind manip, because nature of this attack is friendly hug.

That is some very limited but potent mind manipulation resistance. We would have to write it down as:

"Resistance to Mind Manipulation (Insert X feat here. However, it is only specifically resistant to X method of Mind Manipulation and can be overcome by other ones)".

I guess you could call it Hostile Mindhax.

Maybe is just not resistance to Mind Manipulation, rather is resistent tagainst the mechanic behind that MM. Context would be needed.
