Verses you hate and why?

We should probably close this thread. It risks to cause too much negativity.

Well, I am a paranoid sort. I just don't want a free-for-all hostile argument to happen.

I know the feeling, but right there's no indication of a hostile/aggresive arguments atm, heck i even made a threas about the verses you hate to debate most and so far it was pretty chill and dead

But if this thread getting out of the hand, we can contacting you to close the thread

Okay. I will unfollow this thread then. You can send me a message later if it needs to be closed.

Nasuverse:I don't care the lore of it but many fans are annoying
1.Fate series in its entirety (Due to its very disturbing fandoms particularly NTR bs)
As part of Nasuverse fanbase, this is technically true, but this applied to the sweaty power levels and lores fans/wankers, otherwise it's pretty decent to say

Odd. I haven’t come across the toxicity of the Nasuverse fanbase, and I consider myself a fan of the series. Then again, I recently started getting into Fate so maybe I’ll see the worse side of the fanbase as time goes on.

I fully, fully agree with this. That's why it is usually a bad thing to say that one "hates" a genre; said genre is always unfathomably larger than they think it really is.

As one writer has once remarked, 90% of everything is, well, bad, at least from a critic's standpoint. There's no real exception to this - most manga, anime, books, and all of that are pretty bad, and the ones we hear about and that have survived are those that endured, which makes for some survivorship bias - believe it when I say that there's way more fiction out there than most people take account for. It doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable per se (In fact, many very well-loved games and pieces of fiction are very bad in some or most things in any reasonable frame, but heck it, it is fun to watch/play/see/hear), but it is something to think about.

The thing about isekai is that most popular isekai - or at least the well-known ones - that are talked about in the VS community or get popular are the ones that tell stories about power fantasies. I've read a few isekai before that are decent, but I nowadays avoid isekai because most I've ever seen, and had ever been reccommended to me, were power fantasies that didn't really attract me.

I don't judge people who like them, I can understand the sentiment, but it ain't my cup of tea.

Disliking a Verse because of the culture around its presence on VsBattleWiki is a bad reason to hate a Verse

Yes I am referring to SCP
I'm pretty sure becoming a fanfic fest is the reason why SCP is shit now rather than debatting stuff

I am so tired of the concept of demon kings or lords. They are an annoying concept that just ruins villains. I mean look at shounen, look at the amazing designs they have for most villains. Look at jojo, every villain is absolutley unique.
You can have a memorable villain yet you go for the damn cliche.
To be fair, everything is a cliche, but I get ya.

The thing is that I really like the concept of Demon/Dark Lord, but the only manga I've seen that pulled it off very well was A Fairytale for the Demon Lord. To be fair, I've only seen isekai try to pull the concept (I think NNT does so too but I've not read it yet, and Bastard!!'s dark lords are... different) but, in other pieces of media, I've seen Demon/Dark Lord-type characters done very well.

Not really,in my place many Nasuverse fans believe that their favorite lores are god tier and superior to most fictional works in term of developing plot, kinda cringe tbh

Honestly from my experience the best part of the nasu fandom is here. So far

I'm going to be honest, there is really one "verse" that I absolutely despise, and it's Killing Stalking. Don't get me wrong—the story is interesting, and the art is incredible, but I just hate Oh Sangwoo as a person, and I hate the fact that he managed to get away with his crimes at the end of Season 2. I'm not trying to bash the story or anything—him getting off scot-free is not an issue with the storytelling, I just hate that he managed to do it. I wanted to see him rot because of what he did. He's a horrible person, and to see him slip through the police killed me.

and then there's corpse party musume
don't be like corpse party musume

Tbh one of the only good isekai light novel I read so far are Konosuba and JK Haru is a Sex Worker in Another World. Heard Re:Zero was good but never got interested.

I like Konosuba as well, and Re:Zero is indeed, good, at least to me, and other of my favorite isekai is Mushoku Tensei and TenSura

Overlord is fun, but I think there was that one Otome game isekai genre where the entire cast was replaced with souls of reincarnated people and I really like the premise and how it played out. Even that idea's done to death but Otome isekai os admittedly my guilty pleasure.

I unironically enjoy Instant Death the same way I enjoy Kimetsu no Yaiba. The writing usually being subpar but the concepts behind them are very interesting.

For actual stuff I find good, Shin Sekai Yori, Log Horizon, and Youjo Senki, the latter two basically being SAO but with the characters playing like actual gamers and an interesting MC for the latter.

Also let me go out and say that Re: Monster (Unrelated to Re: Zero) has no business being anywhere near Overlord. I read the manga when I was in high school because it was almost as popular as Overlord on the manga site and it was blegh. The MC was a Goblin but quickly became handsome ogre with tentacle abilities and saved seven pretty women who he did the classic Japan tentacle naughty with.

I'm not sure how it's doing now but that sex scene kinda set the tone for the rest of the manga and I set it down for the better.

Surprisingly, FGO GameFAQ Board are pretty chill, FGO Wikia is kinda decent too if you ignored the trolls/hate posts, dunno about Beast's Lair since i was the member of the forum for like a months and i went hiatus there lel

Which place?

Tbf there are just some cringe people in general concentrated by country. Any players of Honkai Impact know how notoriously entitled the vocal part of the Chinese fanbase was that they not only got mad that they got excluded from some region based rewards but that the other players were getting compensation too. Obviously not to generalize a country but some just happen to have a larger concentration of pricks

I have a love-hate relationship with Homestuck, because 1) the og series is a blessing on this earth and I am very much a fan of it but 2)The epilogues and ^2 are like an acid trip, it can be decent, it can be meh and it can be god please end me right now yiffany is an act against god and 3)the fanbase is the largest mixed bag I have, ever seen, I think I've heard about controversies too which I will not be touching with an R-long pole

Kinda feel the same.

Anything Post-Canon can go from "blessed af, protect" to "eeeeeeh..."
Although one could say this for og HS on some level

I suppose I'll chime in here and talk about just one verse that comes to mind that I just... dislike, not necessarily hate.

Redo of Healer.

I'll preface this by saying I've been liking and reading revenge stories so far the past year. From fantasy stuff like Reincarnated Lich, to Korean high school stuff like Weak Hero, and even other western media with related contents. I've read Dark Massacre of the Vengeful Hero and while it's nothing special and I eventually got bored by it, I liked it for what it is, it's basically a self-aware black comedy.
Yet I still disliked Redo of Healer.
Because it sucked. Simple as that.
If I'm going to elaborate, there's just something that didn't really click with me with RoH, or even put me off as the chapter goes by. Despite it very similar to other revenge stories I've read.
It might be the art style that sometimes contrasts itself from its tone. Or it could be the abuse Keyaru went through that seemed forced, or how comical the series seem to me. Or how Keyaru would appear to be no different than his oppressors, hence it's difficult to sympathize with him. Maybe it's all of that combined. But I just find the writing really, really weak for me to enjoy.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying anyone has trash taste for liking the series (I do know a lot of its fans have trash taste purely by observation). It is what it is.
