Lets say the main source material is just a game and a trailer comes out for its release

The trailer is also purely a CGI/animated one, but is not a story but random sequences

Can we still use feats from that?

Depends on the context of that trailer. If it's a trailer that's providing lore to back up the main game, I'd say it should be fine.

I think I remember seeing profiIes of even song characters, and their feats were taken from the Iines of the song, so I suppose yes
