Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

The audio delay that everyone was experiencing during the event was pretty amateurish IMO, especially when the video basically paused but the audio kept going.

I don't expect absolute perfection, everyone makes mistakes, but I think it's pretty reasonable to expect no technical hiccups when unveiling your brand new console

It was weak in the first half, but found its footing in the second half.

Of all the Switch 2 Version/Edition games, I can't think of any that seem worth playing AtM other than Kirby & the Forgotten Land.
Unless Jamboree comes with an option NOT to use facecam, then maybe, but that's still probably with finnicky new control types like voice.
 
nintendo has a big "pirate my products" note on their back, rockstar doing backflips realizing they can get mf's to get loans just to purchase gta 6.

nintendo has a very effective system going. They make their games available and playable on their platform, they make a lot of them, and they don't bother with anti-piracy as much as others (they fight emulators but tbf the two big emulators kinda screwed themselves over by sharing pirated content, they set themselves up). In the end, you end up with games you can casually play with ease. Hopefull the emulator for switch 2 ends up being made fast, I mean, it is just a better switch.

I'm personally interested in that Bloodborne looking one with the vampire dude that was shown at the end. The new Donkey Kong also looks pretty fun, and pretty neat they actually went in a different direction and didn't just make a new DK Country. As much as I love those games, it's important to try new things now and then.

Considering in the fact that in Russia the prices vary wildly it's probably gonna end up lower, especially if we consider the current dollar value...
Not that I'll have anything to do with that, I'm waiting for yuzu 2

Nintendo is easily the most evil console company right now, which is funny considering their golden child reputation half a decade back or so in comparison to Snoy and Penisoft.

Not that that the latter two aren't trying to be evil, mind you, it's simply that somewhere along the way they suffered brain damage I think, and instead of exploiting fans they just keep shooting themselves in both feet.

Well let's not get ahead of ourselves here, I said most evil console company, there's plenty of publishers that have worse anti-consumer practices, make inferior products and cause a lot more suffering via mass firings to maintain profit margins than No-friend-o.

melee is like my favorite game of all time, ive been on the nintendo hate train for years for its previous active attempt to prevent competitive melee. The panda global , smash world tour stuff has made me a life long hater.
 
Smash Competitve raking in so many new players yet having such small prize pools has to be my least favorite thing about Nintendo.

Yakuza fans when they visit a dark alleyway in Japan and instead of meeting handsome, misunderstood outlaws with a heart of gold they get murdered in the most horrific way possible.

Nah tbh the only thing they'll find in a dark alleyway is usually at worst a random drunk. Japan has sus areas but generally it's pretty peaceful. It's inside the buildings that the bad stuff goes down.
 
I think monster effects and spell/trap cards should be more closely considered for Yugioh and Yugioh GX. Especially when you consider that spell cards are based on actual spells used by the priests. Spell binding circle, fusion, magic cylinder, etc.

In Bakura's shadow game we get some kind of idea on that via the manifestation of a graveyard and Atem rushes to save Honda and Joey by using monster reborn and other effects to revive them.

Obviously what spells and traps to consider would be case by case depending on what's consistent with the verse and what we know is possible. GX has a lot of feats in that regard, for example we know Judai can straight up manifest his duel spirits, in the Saio/LoD vs Judai fight, when he activates light barriers, it weakens the neo-spacians and make it impossible for Neos to protect the solas keys when he was able to before which is consistent with Light Barrier's effect: It negates monster effects. Saio even says as such in the same sentence.

I've been assuming you mean they're using powerscaling lingo for non-powerscaling topics.

Well they were talking about a versus matchup but to me it's unusual when bigger accounts feed into the discussion like that because usually they aren't familiar with power scaling and just make random comments. It's the smaller accs that engage mostly in those arguments.
