[TYPE-MOON] True Magic High 1-A+, Akashic Records and Root thread

I can see Soul thing being High 1-A+, but other scalings like Gods i'm skeptical on. Cause if i'm not wrong, Gods abilities are limited within Earth.
I mean. It is just not the case that the abilities of Gods are limited to 'Earth'; they're applicable in every part of the multiverse where the 'phenomena' they govern exist.
Skadi: A god....is eternal. A god is absolute. If a god is everywhere, in all things, then so am I.
Fate/Grand Order - Lostbelt 2
That's why Skadi says Gods are Eternal, Absolute and exist everywhere and in all things. The idea that gods are local farmers of the Age of Gods, that exist solely in avatars, is community propaganda that everyone just settled without taking the effort to dig deeper into things.
Her perception expanded as she stabilized as a Divine Spirit. Now, connected to the Root, time no longer mattered. She was now able to search for a point in the past while remaining in the present; not because she could see the past, but because she could see everything in the instant that her divine Saint Graph was compressed back into the form of a Ghost Liner.
El Melloi Case Files - Volume 10
Even in volume 10 of case files, there's an exact demonstration of what it feels like for them to be directly connected to the Root.

They say time ceases to matter, and they can not only move around in, but also see every point in time while remaining in the present; and see everything. Even as we speak, Gods still exist and retain their true bodies; they're only separated from humanity by a different order of reality they exist in: the Reverse Side. We're even told that, much like Magicians, gods are a threat to the natural laws of the world. In fact, if anything, it is worse in the case of Gods because their very existence (true bodies) is said by Demeter to be too powerful to exist in the universe—and so must be sealed in higher worlds.

Because Nature, or what you call the 'Earth' can either mean the physical planet (projection) we see, of which there's an infinite amount of them in every timeline. Or 'Earth' as in Nature, something like the Celestial Egg — as the grand source of all manifestation; since we're told the true Celestial Body exists beneath and outside of every texture—including the Inner Sea and the Reverse Side. The powers of Gods are not tied to the former; they're tied to the latter. Because the Planet as Nature and the Celestial Egg are already connected to the Root, the difference between humanity and gods is that humans in the modern world are disconnected from Nature. The emergence of the laws of physics in the universe of humanity is what symbolises this departure from Nature.

I've already sent the statement that talks about how mystery in the Age of Gods is universal law, and the laws of physics in the universe of man are what come to be universal law there.

True Ancestors are literally the strongest species in the Celestial Body. Period. Precisely because they're the closest beings to Nature, humans are the lowest bar here, completely distant from Nature. Gods, on the other hand, consistently represent mental concepts of Nature; the reason why the Ultimate One to begin with is the strongest creature in the entire verse, period too:
Without knowing, I lost my breath. Our enemies were species that ruled over the aliens of other planets, where our common sense doesn't apply. The strongest life form on a planet; in other words, the planet itself. The human species who survived on this planet, simply put, were fighting eight planets.
-Angel Notes
The strongest lifeform on the Celestial Body is the Celestial Body itself; when embodied, it is the "Ultimate One".

It is this strong because it is the avatar of the Celestial Body itself; humans have to go to the Root because the only things that naturally connect them there are what they have discontinuous participation with. Gods can connect to the Root because they're already an immediate extension of Nature, and remain integrated in it as manifestations of its mental concepts.

Do note, Angel notes is most likely outdated given how it came out around 1996-1998. Though the lore about Ultimate Ones being the strongest lifeforce on a planet still stands, as they make a mention about this in Character Material IV, in a joke character section stating Ultimate Ones are 星の最強種, which translates to "Strongest Species of the Planets" with the furigana of アルティメットワン which literally just spells out as "Ultimate One" in romaji.

But anyways, it's an entire plot point at the end of the Arcueid route that True Ancestors are transcendental because, unlike those who have become detached from Nature, they remain integrated in it.
The True Ancestors are not individuals that have become independent from the natural world, as humans have; rather, they are an ancient species that still remains integrated with nature. They are often mistakenly thought of as immortal because they serve as the "antennae" of the stars. Their biological time scale is vastly different from that of humans. It is natural for them to have a long lifespan, and their activity limits are essentially the limits of the natural world itself.*
That's precisely why they have vaster life scales, precisely because they are integrated in Nature.
No longer as selfless as the spirit beings without physical form, the True Ancestors began to lose sight of their role as protectors. Some even became individuals who detached themselves from nature, similar to humans. As beings known as True Ancestors, they have no limitations. With the backing of the planet, they can improve their abilities as needed, whenever necessary.*
And even more so with a quality unmistakably unique to themselves, their power that knows no limits, the backup of the Planet that improves their abilities as much as they want to whenever necessary. Some of the buffs they get, I even outlined in the earlier explanations when I talk about how Arcueid has no lines of death and cannot be killed by the Mystic Eyes themselves, because Nature/the Planet perpetually perfects them and nullifies their causes of death.

We even have more explicit statements for True Magic=Authority
Event Storage EX
The ability to conceptually and physically store things that have grown on the planet's surface. Confiscate all creations that have occurred on the planet's surface - textures. In terms of divine spirits, this is a supernatural ability at the level of "authority," but since it is a function possessed by the planet, it is more of a system than a skill. The gravitational sphere that appears under Arcueid's feet in light body form is large enough to store the textures of the entire Earth.
The event storage (retroflow-in-essence) is a supernatural ability on the level of the authorities of the gods, but because it is possessed by Arcueid, who's the avatar of the Celestial Body itself, it is called 'a system'.

Magical Girl Phantasmoon

White Princess of the Moon. Her true identity shan't be disclosed.

Magical Girl...? Well, she might be one, but she barely qualifies for the role.

She may be a Magical Girl, but she specialises in environmental interference such as weather manipulation, stratum movement and, at last, Order collapsing-type True Magic through the retroflow of the Planet's rotation. Ah, she can't master the last bit just yet.

Furthermore, although as a magical girl, she possesses jumping power just one step short of actual flight and combat ability that can fell a bear in a single blow, she acts cute, saying, "How rude! These are magical powers too!"
No matter how you look at it, though, it's just her raw physical brute force, and she really has nothing to do with magical powers.
Elsewhere in character material, this ability is subtly referenced as True Magic-type that collapses order through retroflow. The only reason why authorities aren't called True Magic, even when they're made synonymous sometimes, is because they are possessed by beings of different modalities like Gods. In the same way, the ability of the same class, like event storage for Arcueid, is called a 'system' because it is possessed by the Planet, not an individual of the Planet. Authorities are called 'authorities' because they are possessed by Gods; for Fairies, these are called Fairy Law, likewise with Principles.

You can think of the Celestial Body/Celestial Egg as a huge Magician basically; authorities are the domains of mysteries that are True Magic, that it naturally has, as naturally connected to the Root. The only reason why so many even exist to begin with is that the Celestial Body is ******* huge compared to divine spirits and humans. Also, the reason why humans have fickle reality marbles, compared to the Planet which maintains the multiverse of human order, the reverse side of the world, the inner sea of the cosmos and so forth; heck even multiverses of entire other different species.

Including a multiverse of neco-arcs, a multiverse of Earth having different primate species, the servantverse is part of our Celestial Egg too, which has its own multiverse. There are multiverse-orders with fish people, robots, etc. The entire point and meaning of True Magic is for humanity to become on par with and like gods.

Most True Magics are entirely new mysteries, but not even mysteries of different orders, because Third Magic, on the other hand, has existed since the Age of Gods and was possessed by many gods. All humans like Zelretch exist to do is just prove that True Magic is not layered linearly, since it is already the limit of power inverse. Because it is precisely what allowed Zelretch to beat (technically stalemate) an Ultimate One, Crimson Moon, it is what allowed for the Six Sisters to have a mutual kill with an Ultimate One.

Since gods are existentially superior to humans, you'd expect them to have superior mysteries, but that's not the case. At the same time, it is said numerous times in FGO that if gods existed, the concept of the Greater Grail and Holy Grail would be useless because of how powerful gods already are.

In relation to the Nature Spirits, you have—
Phantasmal species.
Within our works, this is a general term for those creatures that appear within legends and myths.
They are those existences that deviate from their original form by the impact of factors alien to their ecology; those existences borne of human ideation; and those existences that ascend to a higher order as a consequence of longevity.
Incidentally, it is typically only those creatures that hold standing as Demonic Beasts or below that are used as Familiars. The Ranks go in the order of Animal → Demonic Beast → Phantasmal Beast → Divine Beast .
Phantasmal and Divine Beasts of the Millennium Class fundamentally outmatch the strength of Mysteries on the order of Magecraft; the Mysteries inherent to said creatures are of a magnitude equivalent to that represented within True Magic.
And
Phantasmal Species
(Millennium-class Phantasmal Beasts / Divine Beasts)

Creatures recounted in myths and legends from around the world. Representative examples include dragons, fairies, and oni. The Pegasus ridden by Rider is also a Phantasmal Species.

Their very existence is Mystery; merely by being present, they surpass ordinary magecraft. Among them, those that have endured a thousand years since being born into this world are considered to be equal to Magic, and even witnessing one can be called a miracle.
It should be noted that this scale applies strictly to Millennium-Class Phantasmal Species, Divine Beasts, and similar entities with the closest relation to Nature itself. Likewise, being Millennium Class doesn't entail you're on that magnitude of Mystery unless you're related/connected to Nature as its Counter Force or Sense of Touch, et cetera. Conversely, being a pure Phantasmal/Divine Beast doesn't insinuate you're on this level unless you're a Millennium Class either. And furthermore, this standard does not apply to Demonic Beasts approaching the Millennium rank that subsequently ascend to the status of a Phantasmal.
Unless you want to scales Earth and a lot of people to High 1-A+
I mean, on the contrary, I would much rather have Type Moon at Low 2-C, including the Root, so people can stop hyper-fixating on either getting the verse as high as possible or getting the verse as low as possible. In fact, I would much rather not even power scale nor be present in this community, nor even see this verse scaled, and would rather have it disappear into obscurity from the power scaling community. But it's already here, and I'm here because I'm unfortunately one of the only people who can do this.

That said, I also unfortunately don't make the rules of the verse. I'm all about whatever is most thematically, symbolically and narratively consistent with the verse; so at the same time, unfortunately, I can't pretend gods and magicians are 'beyond one another'. The best I can do is just give a narrative explanation as to why gods would have to be there if what I already mentioned wasn't enough.

Also, I should mention this already in that even if a god were to be High 1-A+ with those smurf haxes too, they wouldn't be omnipotent or necessarily trample every character below that tier, for the same reason Magicians don't.

A god of time governing time at the most primordial level possible has supervenience over everything that time touches. But a being that is constitutively outside time entirely is not below the god of time in a relevant sense but rather that it simply doesn't intersect with the domain over which that god has authority.

In the same way, Second Magic cannot intersect with nor affect a being outside of the very principle of Parallel Worlds and possibilities. Which is why Avalon can remain unaffected by it, because it is outside of parallel worlds and time to begin with. So the Second Magic, regardless of how absolute it is within its own domain, simply is that the Second Magic reaches for something that isn't there from its own perspective against Avalon to begin with. So it's always relational. That's all.

True Magic really doesn't need a tier. I'll admit I didn't read the whole thing (can you blame me?), but the very idea sounds shaky to me. Nothing good will come from scaling things off one highly-specific form of hax they have or are linked to.
Genuinely whatever this means bro man... Genuinely.

Uhm, yeah setting that aside do ask to comment in the staff thread, as my best pal Mbpoops pointed out, and second of all if you're not gonna ask atleast make the response insightful.. Not whatever you're talking about honestly speaking, I genuinely don't know whatever that means.

This is the second response I've gotten from a person from spacebattles; I swear they hated this site.

But this is also the second non-informative comment from somebody from spacebattles, like, hey, if you're gonna waltz in like that, then I'm here.

There's no need to be flustered; you can tell me whatever problems you have, even when they don't have any rationale... Well, clearly; and I'll just correct you. With the appropriate permissions from staff and assuming you read things out in the first place to make your case in any given future Type Moon CRT.
Mind you, True Magic is not even a 'hax'; that's quite an unironically stupid narrative designation of what True Magic is. I'm sorry if I sound rude, but that is genuinely a laughably reductive definition of what True Magic is. Highly specific in what it does because it does one thing, which can do many effects or 'things'; sure, I can grant that. But much like the first reason, this reason is just so silly. Like you do know the Swirl of the Root does absolutely nothing, but is tiered... It doesn't even create anything. Everything just has a dependence relation to it, and its entire shtick is that it remains in itself and in its non-duality, and creation is like a dream-like and transient phenomenon dependent on it.

It is even more highly specific because all-it-is is just non-duality, and duality is just a finite expression of it. Shit, I guess Root doesn't need a tier because it does one hyper-specific thing, that does one hyper-specific thing, that is be itself. What does this even mean? Deadass whatever that means: "don't tier the Mystic Eyes because all they do is kill people", "don't tier the Root, all it does is be itself", whatever this means.

Shit, I guess Tier 0 shouldn't be tiered because they wouldn't be throwing punches or fighting each other. I swear you just gotta let the visual flashiness powerscaling mentality go, bro.

My problem with this boils down to "giving a tier to True Magic sounds like trying to give a tier to something like gravity manipulation and I can't come up with reasoning that isn't misguided at best". I did try to read the whole thing, but it's written like a messy high-level philosophy paper and it's really going over my head. Won't be replying here from now on, for obvious reasons
I don't know if I should unironically chuckle or be mad; the arrogance it takes to say it's really going "over your head" and say simultaneously the reasoning is "misguided at best" is one that you can only have as a sophist, really. And then proceeding to ignore everything I said in the aforementioned comment you replied to.

Which, well, it makes sense why you were supporting Marshadow now for sure... Dang, so surprising; colour me surprised. Because it's one thing to unironically disagree with tier designations, because it doesn't depict the world building faithfully and another entirely to support a person who did his best to deconstruct all views of world building, whilst simultaneously being top incompetent to reconstruct his own consistent view on the world building. And I say he did his best because his attempts were mediocre, precisely because he had nothing to say about world-building other than "x thing is contradictory, y thing is contradictory" (they weren't, but that's besides the point).

All it did was just reveal how much you cared more about tier designation over and beyond seeking out a consistent reconstruction of the world-building. Which, well... suit yourself, but don't bring that here to waste my time, because I'm here to respond to effectively everything, and you either do provide a meaningful critique or not, and I can move on.

Like, holy, you and Marshadow were handed the verse and sat the nasuverse discussion all day rambling, instead of taking steps to fix the verse.

And of course, when somebody does, you come out, somehow you read and don't understand what you read, yet still say "the reasoning is misguided"; I swear the jokes write themselves wtf lol.

But yeah, with all respect, don't bother commenting or clogging the thread further; unless you actually take your time and effort to engage with the verse properly, along with the CRTs, and take your time understanding the VSBW Tiering System and Type-Moon both properly, I ask of you. I'll leave it at this.

Maybe if you tried answering questions instead of going "you're stupid, your question is stupid, and here's two paragraphs of slander"
Ah, yes yes. Apparently, pointing out the flaws with your methodology on the verse in relation to your comment or how Marshadow handled this verse, quite flawed might I add, is slander... mind you, nowhere did I insult you personally or anything of the sort.

But apparently asking "questions" according to you, is going into a thread proclaiming

I think at some point you simply need to comprehend a meaningful difference between scepticism and dismissal, and what was posted was unambiguously the latter.

Walking into a CRT and stating, "I didn't read the whole thing, but the very idea sounds shaky to me" you aren't questioning in any manner for the record. Nor are you engaging with the CRT. Nor are you providing any meaningful critique, which is of the utmost importance here.

You just dropped the Mbappe special of a helluva negative verdict on CRT(s) you have explicitly admitted to not being capable of comprehending, and no amount of flair words on your part would change that, unfortunately.

No, seriously, the notion of saying "it's written like a messy high-level philosophy paper and it's really going over my head", and then just leaving your conclusion at that, refusing to elaborate or engage any further...

Man, you just decided in advance that the conclusion was wrong, had some difficulties, and treated those difficulties as your confirmation of the "whateverwhatchamallist-Shin-is-talking-about" being misguided and wrong, rather than finding yourself the obvious incentive to ask me for clarification. Mind you, what you stated was wrong even by VSBW standards, and I have no reason to expound all that in a CRT relating to H1A+ True Magic. That's all on you to learn it by yourself and then come make an argument.

If you'd simply said, "I'm struggling to follow this, can you break it down further" or "I need help to understand X", I would have genuinely taken the time to walk you through it, in Discord or DMs or anywhere else. But nah, you just went f it we ball, made two separate statements dismissing the CRT as shaky and that "all reasons for True Magic would be misguided at best according to me", on the basis of a partial, non-comprehensive read on the CRT you literally admitted to....

If the CRT is wrong, discuss and show the how-and-why with scans and arguments. If the CRT is unclear to you, simply ask. But asserting that something is misguided before engaging and presenting your arguments... if you think there's absolutely nothing wrong in that, more power to you, I guess.
you wouldn't still be talking about the Root 1.5 years into the rework while acting as if you're any better than Mar.
I dunno what you're talking about, honestly. The Root Tier 0 was passed like a whole year ago by this point lol. This CRT is mostly a re-hash and expansion on things as it stands, but if you're gonna weaponise that to prove a completely obsolete, irrelevant point... which is whatever, this is a waste of my time and irrelevant to the thread as it stands.

I guess I can't talk about the Root 1.5 years into the rework, when it is so prevalent in the Type-Moon franchise, it has become a plot device at this point.

Silly me, man, this is totally relevant. To what? I don't know, but definitely something. Anyways, can you stop clogging the thread already, well unless you're here to provide a substantial critique, of which then? I can humour you.
You now know that this topic is for employees only, so stop commenting on this topic without permission.
+1

Azrety is correct. Can we have the staff members delete the previous comments which were made without permission? I'm fine with them engaging with the thread with proper permissions and arguments in place, assuming they've gone through the thread to be arguing against it in the first place, but damn. I guess that's too hard.

What are the staff conclusions here so far? Meaning, which staff members think what here? 🙏

Yeah, we're waiting on Vietthai for his thoughts on the stuff I posted in relation to Authorities, Fairy laws, etc. He's otherwise said yes to everything, save for what we're discussing in relation to him being neutral.

The thread has otherwise passed. I'm mostly doing this process in this CRT because the next topic would likely be textures. So I'm just ending it here.
