So

Sonic has experience dealing with robots, Furnace doesn't really have anything that makes him stand out compared to say, Metal sonic.

Meanwhile, Furnace killed a much cockier version of sonic compared to Hungry Sonic's more "feral" urges that and Hungry Sonic has acesses to moves from sonic frontier which grants him a lot more variety than the Sonic Furnace killed.

Might give it to Sonic cause he fought against opponents similar to Furnace and defeated them, while Hungry Sonic is a far more varied and less cocky version of the sonic Furnace killed
