A few weeks after the attack on Canterlot, Thorax was wandering through the Everfree forest looking for love to absorb when he came across a space ship that crashed in the area. As he drew closer, a large monster burst from within the ship and ran off into the forest. Scared but curious, Thorax entered the ship and found a strange device that he had never seen before. He pokes it in a random spot and out of nowhere, he is enveloped in a blue light. Suddenly information about the monster he previously saw began flowing through his mind, suddenly he knew everything there is to know about that creature. How hard it hits, how it thinks, it's tactics, everything. This also came with the realization that it's significantly stronger than him.
