The Urban Jungle, Match 5: The Meta vs Morbius

4,976
1,741
TOURNAMENT MATCH CONDITIONS:
  • The match takes place in a city specified by the organizer
  • Characters will start outside the city and are given two days to prepare with limited information on the other's capabilities (appearance, dangerous abilities, immortalities, etc.) They will also be given full access to information about anything they can use within the city. After 48 hours, they must enter the city and confront each other at a landmark of OP's choice.
  • Characters will be given their optional equipment along with their preparation
  • The characters have a week to achieve victory
  • Victory is achieved under what is defined by SBA
    • Additionally, any characters outside the chosen city will be considered removed from the battlefield and will be given one week to return before they're declared the loser of the match.
  • Any further accommodations for unique abilities will be decided as the tournament gathers more participants
  • In tandem with the above, rules will be adjusted accordingly as well
  • Last but most importantly, anything within the city can be used to the character's advantage (e.g. a character can run to a nearby zoo to use its animals, a character can run to the nearby power plant for energy, etc.), so research is highly encouraged if you want to know what's available to your submission!

The Meta - 0.94 tons (Post-Sigma)

Saw the movie for the first time now, it deserves all the jokes

Anyways, knowing how dangerous Meta is Morbius would probably keep in stealth, summoning bats to keep his adversary busy/wasting ammo and then using stealth to delivery one of those air/energies attacks he use in the end of the movie

The problem with that is that The Meta has a motion tracker that can find Morbius for as long as he's moving, even if it's by a couple inches at a time so Stealth is practically useless here, especially when Maine has fought people with and has experience actually using Stealth, Invisibility and Camouflage to actually fight and kill groups of people before. This is also not even taking into consideration that The Meta can just find him by using North's Thermal Vision being backed up by his A.I.'s Analytical Prediction to track him down easier. Once they actually start fighting, The Meta is gonna have a huge skill advantage since he actually knows Martial Arts and has fought a bunch of other people that know them too, along with being experienced with a wide variety of abilities wielded by people somewhat within his own ballpark in terms of strength and skill. This is also ignoring his actual abilities like Time Stop, Time Slow which increases his durability for some reason, Healing Unit for Regen, the fact his main projectile weapon uses explosives as its ammo, a bubbleshield that can be focused into specific places so as to not waste too much power or he can shoot through openings in the shield that Theta can make that allows him to shoot out while preventing others from shooting in and the fact that he can scan Morbius' Biology to see how best to injure him. That isn't how it was used in the series since Wash only used to check for injuries but there's nothing stopping him from doing it either.

Okay, here are some comments:
  • How exactly the motion tracker works? If it is like cheeking your phone for a location it wouldn't work, since Morbius plan would be to use the bats to keep Meta distracted (And remember, the bats can inflict a AP comparable to Morbius itself)
  • Also, how exactly the time manipulation works? It is like restricted for 1 or 2 seconds?
  • Assuming this explosive ammo ignite on impact Morbius most likely would manage to avoid them (If there is one thing he show to be good in the movie it to dodge bullets)
Also (This one is for Naitodesu) Does the fighter get to knew before the fight about the LS of the adversary?

The motion tracker is in the bottom corner of his helmet so he can see it at all times.

The Time Stop and Time Slow have been shown to work for a maximum of 12 to 15 seconds.

It hasn't lit people on fire before but it is Explosive so it has AOE going for it, plus the gun itself has a big ass blade in the back of it as well so it also functions as a melee weapon.

Okay, shit, i could try to elaborate that Morbius could still bypass the movement sensor, but the +10 seconds time stop is just a stomp IMO
