The Gacha Life community has good writing and talent. Change my mind

I'm getting the impression that nearly everyone in this forum hates the Gacha Life due to it's bad side being mostly shown in-front of their faces. The same thing happens with haters of this site and forum. I guess we should give this forum the same treatment if we're not going to give the good side of the gacha life community a chance...

I stayed in the gacha life community due to the talented animators and writing they can have. I dare all of you repliers to change my mind.

Or have a discussion on gacha life cringe. Whatever suits your conversation.

Wait what the heck? I have not seen anyone hate on Gacha Life for the entire time I've been here... (then again I may not have been around enough)
Also this thread would not be out of place on Reddit welp.
In any case, I did not comment to disagree, I just came to state my view, and also in fact to say that I agree that the Gacha Life/Club community (especially Youtubers who animate and upload their GLMMs/GCMMs, and honestly I prefer the Gacha Life style over the Gacha Club style) makes good stories, though they often use the same themes and story concepts but with their own unique twists on them, which, to be fair, is what entertainment kinda does most of the time.
(Same goes for the stick figure animation community like Hyun's Dojo, and sketch animators like Domics, Sultan Sketches, Emirichu, Illymation, etc)
Ironically enough I guess that means I'm disproving the absolute statement about everyone hating Gacha Life. 😐😂😅

Surprised you'd be interested in a topic like this.

If you look up the term "gacha life" in the search function of the forum. Lots of people are either uninterested or just straight up roast the entire community when you should only make fun of the bad parts.

If you want to have a good idea on how most people on-forum treat Gacha life, look up the matches and opponents of this verse. And the wiki vandalism report on why Gacha life is on FC/OC. There's definitely bias behind the vandalism report despite the arguments being logical and foundations for Gacha life verses being on FC/OC.

I just searched up those keywords, welp yeah I saw a rant about Gacha Life as well:

I mean, animation in general (Gacha, stick figure, manhua/donghua/manga/anime/manhwa/aeni/comics, Youtuber slice of life animations, comic dub animations, etc etc) has appeared in the forum as a discussion topic quite often and I view such media quite a lot as well so I'm pretty sure quite a few people here are interested and this would explain why I joined the thread and why I'm interested in this topic in general.

But yeah I can see why people would roast Gacha Life since it's a bit more... rough in aesthetics and animation (oftentimes using screenshots to make a video which makes the animation seem more clunky) similar to stop-motion or claymation as compared to other types of animation like with Flash, Unity, Pivot, etc which are often seen as smoother, more fluid and more aesthetically pleasing (though then again tracing exists for those which is another matter of contention in the animating community overall), but I enjoy the storytelling regardless of the animation type and admire the effort put in by the creators to make such content pleasing for their audiences since I can find the videos either funny/interesting and entertaining or deeply relatable (or both), which I hope other people can also learn to do instead of simply bashing or sucking up (as in either overly hating and ignoring the positives or overly loving and ignoring the negatives) since it helps with understanding the concept of nuance.

Much of the community is also comprised or kids and teens that have access to mature content, leading to more cringe.
Though there are animators that negate the roughness of the visuals.

If you're interested in chatting about gacha life stuff, I have a Cutespud tournament, discussion thread, CRT, etc. Your choice.

I could use the Discussion Thread. Could you send over a link perhaps? Please and thanks. (I might have seen the thread when searching but need to know which thread I should go to specifically.)
Edit: I think I found it?

Beyond most of gacha life content being crappy series’ made by 13 year olds, it’s also because gacha life has a pretty bad history on both their community and ours. Long story short, kids can easily use it to make… NSFW or otherwise not-so-nice things, which is also a pretty big part of it.

But gacha life at its core is meant to be a kids’ game. That’s why it’s also often defined as a “Dress-up game”. There’s been a few good stories out of it definitely, but 99% of it’s target audience, that being kids, won’t bother to make something good, which is why you see so much of the same stuff churned out, like emotionless guys or being the only boy/girl in a school. There’s also the extremely common reaction videos, and in general almost all of it’s users recycle the same type of content.

Unless they’re a full animatic, they also tend to be pretty boring to watch. Oftentimes going frame by frame just isn’ a good way to watch something. It kind of takes away the impact of fight scenes in particular, especially since the characters are more “Chibi” in nature, which would also rule out some intimidation they’d have too. The nature of gacha life just makes it seem more “colorless” if you know I what I mean, especially if they’re trying to make a serious story.

Finally, I think this is the most important one, but because of the target audience of gacha being young kids, and also considering what is common to be made on there, A lot of characters made by gacha users are just wanked, poorly made profiles, even when they aren’t tier 1. I’ve seen plenty of profiles that just spam a wide variety of hax for power purposes, rather than focusing on a story, which is what fc/oc needs in a good profile.

The reason people consider gacha “cringe” here is because almost everyone who comes from the gacha community makes something exactly like this. ^ The reason why the purge of tier 1 characters happened is because people were making too many wanked tier 1 pages without a good story or cosmology. That’s why we have the standards we have today. There are obviously exceptions to this, You’ve made profiles for verses that aren’t necessarily powerwank at all, but in general gacha kids themselves who come here don’t provide anything valuable to this community.

I've indexed well written verses and classics like Cutespud's verses and Unbounded. If you want good writing and talent, you'll have to ask me or dig deep into the community.

As far as Matches go, i more so did mine for fun

Ashley vs Coco was genuinely cause Ashley isn't all that skilled a fighter and so is Coco so the fight was fair.

Domestic Sheep vs Coco was a joke cause Ashley lost to the sheep, and i justed wanted to see if the Sheep could claim another victim.

The duo fight kinda just made sense to make especially sense Vincent ans Elliot are very protective of Arabelle and Coco respectively so the fight was interesting dynamic wise too.

I'm open to having "cringe" verses in FC/OC. New Light is literally a verse i made when i was 13 years old and it very much shows with how some things are described (like a demon literally named Alpha 💀) and yet i put it here cause it felt important for me to add it.

It's a part of their history and it being...well a little cringe isn't bad, gives it a unique charm that i can appreciate

Dude, nobody hates Gacha life. They just don't care if it exists or not. Hating would be an overstatement.

play wonderend 0 and then try to repeat that sentence, there's some horrifying stuff in there

Most of these were made by ragebait channels trying to drag down the reputation of lunime's fanbase.
Gacha life's target audience is generally middle schoolers, who are experiencing puberty for the first time and already know what h#ntai and allat is, i don't think it's rage-baiters. But either way, Gacha life isn't inherently bad, they just have a pretty bad reputation when it comes to that, and the fact that most of the people who use it are 12-14 year old means that their storytelling and grammar isn't exactly the best at the moment, so it winds up being dubbed boring or cringy by some people, i've seen a couple gacha characters that look pretty cool, but the vast majority of them are made by kids who don't know how to write, so they aren't taken seriously 99% of the time
