The Everlasting Quest for Proper Evaluation of Instant Death (verse)

Soooo, here we are again...

So in the Instant Death series, we have a magic type called instant Death magic.

Now why do I bring it up?

First of the scan talks about, how it doesn't work against stronger opponents, and requires an enormous amount of energy, to the point all other magics are considered more efficient. Hell, there are even "numerous ways to resist it". Hell, the end of it speaks about how there is no way to guarantee a 100% chance it will even work.

Now why do I bring this up?
All Instant Death characters have this resistance.

Now what is the problem?

As mentioned above, the scan says anyone stronger than it, won't work it, There are numerous ways to resist it, and lastly, It is never a 100% success rate... Only to then proceed to say any other way to deal with the weaker party would be far more effective.

This basically makes the ability useless against anyone stronger than the caster. This does not grant them a "resistance" since they are not technically resisting an ability but rather are just naturally not affected by it, it would be no different than us humans being unaffected by a virus that only affects dogs.

So all beings who have resistance to Death manipulation for this reason should have it removed.

Disagreed “numerous methods of resisting have been developed” meaning failing again higher level opponents isn’t inherently how instant death magic work people need to learn how to counter its.

I think you are misunderstanding something, "numerous ways of resisting it has been developed" not for people stronger than the user, but weaker users. You are also ignoring the fact it was stated to never have a 100% success rate, hell we don't even know how that magic works.

Idk jack about Yogiri, so I'm going here blind.

First off, why would it not working on a stronger opponent disqualify those opponents from getting resistance? There are numerous series' where being stronger allows you to resist some Haxes, and iirc, we also index those as resistance.

Also I have no clue how you managed to come to the conclusion that this scenario is similar to a virus affecting dogs but not humans. They feel entirely different to me.

Leaning towards disagree.

I need more context on why said resistance works. Sure, it could just be the magic works only on weaker targets, but it could be that getting stronger just makes you naturally more immune to said hax. Which would be resistance.

This is literally all the context we get about instant death magic, we have close to 0 users and almost no other mention of it... Nor do we have an explanation of how it works... This is also the explanation and scans for how the entire verse has "resistance towards instant death magic" Either way, the hax itself we have no idea how it works, but we do know it never has a 100% success rate, and it is so inefficient that all other ways are better to deal with weaker opponents. So it is not mentioned how stronger people "resist death manipulation" of any kind, but instead, the death manipulation is simply not effective. Hell, as mentioned earlier we don't even have nay idea how "instant death magic" works.

See the problem?

Because they don't have any "inherent abilities to resist Instant Death". If we follow this logic, we might as well give everyone resistance to all the hax of the verse, since "being stronger will make you resist to some degree the hax".

Even UEG, a High-level God, don't have innate resistance to instant death, she has to forcefully keep her body alive to actively counter it. UEG is leagues above the character in front of her, btw.

This also heavily applies that Death magic resistance has not nothing to do with "being naturally resistant"

This scan even explain the ways to "resist it" is just ways around it, and again the only thing repeated is that it doesn't have a 100% success rate

Agreed, especiaIIy the fact that there are Iess-natuuraI means of resisting Instant Death as described in the post above, me, giving everyone resistance to this abiIity is way too far fetched
