question: is the Player's higher dimension like... explicitly a new mathematical axis that they exist on? if it's just "higher dimensional" in terms of power, then existing in that dimension won't give HDE.

It's definitely not higher dimensional in terms if power since he's still bound by 6D "Quantum mechanics" to reassemble his data in the cosmicbackground radiation. I don't know if it semantically counts as a Type 10 in size if your big as said dimension.
