The Boys discussion thread

Homelander suffers from the Demon slayer problem. He is not high tier, but people usually make him look far weaker than he actually is.

Good luck convincing anyone that outside of this wiki. Just goes to show how much visual representation matters. Is Muzan keeping up and dishing out most JJK high tiers (genuinely blitzes anyone not called Dabura). Will you ever convince a average JJK fan that Tanjiro isn't a Cursed Finger victim ? Hell nah.

Visual representation and aura matters so much in general consensus.

Solos Resident Evil, lol

Is it bad that I'm more interested in whether or not Homelander will escape fraudwatch tomorrow than anything else?
thats all most people care about at this point, so no you’re not alone. but dont get your hopes up this is the boys, its honestly a miracle he’s even in tier 8 considering this show features nothing but wall level stuff

They do their lines at once since it's voice acting. So it's not impossible.

But it would be very plot convenient for him to be exactly where Deep falls into the ocean.

Plus we just guessing that the one to fall on the beach is Deep. Which is a possibility, but it could also be Ryan, Homelander or a random flying supe.
I mean the fish plotline is strange as I think about it. It would be plot convenient, but tbh the sea life already are plot convenient. Like somehow Samuel L Sharkson knows all about an oil spill that happened in Alaska, and all sea critters have an international communication line.

The Deep was in NYC when the shark started harassing him, bc that’s where 7 Tower is. Ig word travels fast in the deep sea.

No villian can even reach HL before they get melted 😭💔
Wesker is literally dozens of times faster than the wanked Homelander we got rn, and realistically his ass is subsonic-transonic reaction speed wise he’s getting cooked.

DAWG LMFAO, no upscales, no new big feats, just isolated fights on a small scale💀💀 you genuinely can't make this shit up. Yeah subsonic ******* homelander is real, this shit is hilarious like I genuinely can't believe how much the marketing for this season was a ******* lie when it comes to the scale of shit

Can someone tell me why MCU Super Soldier fights somehow look visually more impressive in choreography and scale than someone like Homelander's fights who is hyped up to be the equivalent of a weapon of mass destruction? Every single fight in The Boys with the top tiers look like drunken bar brawls. Also, incredibly underwhelming of a finale for me, can't lie. The promotional material hinting at something borderline apocalyptic is criminal./SPOILER]

Straight bullocks im not gonna like guys.

Like, it wasn't Stranger Things or GoT bad but... underwhelming ig. Could've been worse.

Some of yall genuinely hate the verse I alr know those spoilers are packed with “LOL FRAUDLANDER, NO FEATS” 💔 but I am gonna wait till I see it

so my ending suits my AU, big massive ahh fight where Homelander goes off the rails fighting, destroying parts of DC leaving behind a path of destruction, half the pentagon being destroyed with the fight happening in front of the McDonald's in the pentagon that somehow remained intact, then the fight moving to NYC where Homelander heat visions NYC, and even blasts down Vought Tower and destroys it and then Superman punching Homelander to the Yukon and in the end Homelander has his powers removed and is beaten by someone with immense power yet choses to be human and loses to a human as Homelander remains a human with one arm vaporized off and put on trial alongside every other corrupt elites and politicians with Ashley as President and Victoria Neuman (Who's still alive in my AU) being her VP as the actual component one to clean up the mess Homelander made to America like post WW2 Germany

But sure, this ending is fine too for cannon[/Spoilers]

I thought it was as good as an average episode in an earlier season. The problem for me was that A) there wasn't really any tension because everything is followed by something cartoony or a quip, B) it was the most obvious, straight-forward way to end things from the current plot trajectory, so there's nothing particularly impressive conceptually, and C) there was still a lot of crude humour, though nothing like the Dogknott and Sheline stuff from the previous episode.

So, basically, decent episode (I'd say the best in s5 by some margin), but lame finale.

Onto feats, it seems that Ryan and Butcher are physically comparable and they could make HL struggle a bit when working together. Homelander also took scratches rather than being burned by a similar blast from Ryan to ep4, so it does seem he's like slightly more powerful.

Also, Oh Father was presented as a genuine threat/obstacle to Butcher
.
Yeah subsonic ******* homelander is real
HL did maybe fly to space or fly up and throw a guy into space. I hope someone has access to the scripts for the episode or something so that we can confirm this.

Edit: I forgot that this was combat speed and not flight speed.

Just as a heads up The Boys is going into subsonic combat speed hell, and the finale really sealed the deal.

It’s never been more over…

Now I'm pretty sure Homelander didn't get stronger fromV1.
He got weakened somehow
it literally took fewer supes to hold him down than at Herogasm, his "country level" lasers did nothing but leave a few scorch marks on the room, all evidence points towards V1 making him weaker in exchange for not aging.

Where you all have watched? Can anyone please explain to me the plot in short? (With spoiler tags of course)

Personally, I don't really care about shows in terms of feats, but it did bug me here.

When Oh Father's sonic scream was reflected back at him, it didn't even damage the titanium ball and yet it splattered his own, bullet-proof, head. Anyone remember in season 1 and 2 when a military contract with Vought was actually a serious consideration because the Super terrorists could tear through their infantry and fighting vehicles?

However, something I liked about the finale is that they remember Hughie is smart and resourceful.

Although I agree Country level is bs, at worst, HL's as strong as before. Absolutely no substantive evidence points towards this conclusion.

Homelander traveled to space and back in about 2.5 seconds. Assuming he went 62 miles up and down, then that’s about Mach 200, or massively hypersonic. Honestly, feats on this level are really adding up

A-Train’s slow motion scene, Homelander flying to space and back, Ryan flying from Russia

Still don’t think it’s enough to pass all the supersonic statements. But it’s still worth taking note of

Upon actually watching it and not just reading the reviews from the theatre, I don't exactly hate it.. there have definitely been worse finales before and it's not even comparable to GOT. The only thing really missing is the Homelander rampage, I feel like.

A-Train’s slow motion scene
Scales to him alone and is a massive outlier
Homelander flying to space and back
That one actually is real
Ryan flying from Russia
Fake feat, it was already debunked like a month ago
