I think that stuff about Ryan's heat vision being more powerful than Homelander's is invalid now. Soldier Boy confirmed that Homelander could have killed him at Fort Harmony, referring to when Homelander was preparing to blast him with his heat vision in the previous episode.

SO, there's a lot to unpack with this new episode.
- Soldier Boy's C/R speed should scale to a speed-supe who was replaced by A-train. This speed-supe should be Top 3 fastest in the verse, which would mean that Soldier Boy's C/R speed should roughly scale to Transonic (And thus anybody who can react to Soldier Boy)
- Firecracker is metal Eagle statue level, which in all seriousness: Say goodbye to that 9-A, possibly 8-C tiering. She may've called herself strong but she arguably has the durability of a normal person.
- Terror pitches tents to Homelander
- Butcher actually has remnants of a human soul

Disappointing episode, to say the least. There was very minimal plot development in this one. The only POV that really did much at all for the story was Soldier Boys.
I don't care about the firecracker shit. She's literally a rapist? Why are we trying to do some weird sympathetic plotline with her? I mean, I understand she's supposed to be representing Christians/those type of religious folks who are conflicted with politics, but she really isn't the one to be doing something like that... At least she's gone now, I guess.
Sister Sage master plan is just waiting for the world of end...wow, how intelligent and creative of her. So she'll just be doing nothing the whole rest of the show or what? Literally, she's done nothing in this season. And then they put a whole section of this episode into telling us that "yeah, she is gonna do nothing." Omg.
Terror scenes just annoyed me. The Boys are such a terrible team bro they are getting nowhere. And then we get more scenes dedicated to making Butcher seem more human..whatever I guess. Btw why do we need so many sex jokes, like even to the point of bringing a dog into it. Don't we got enough ???
Why the hell is the deep still alive and how is he alive??? Bro might have the most plot armor out of anyone in the show.

The Deep will probably die in Episode 7 given the tention between New Noir and The Deep right now. It's been stated by Karl Urban on Aussie news that all hell breaks loose in Episode 7, so if Deep were to die there then by all means I'd cheer, he IS a sex offender after all. But I will admit I did forget about Firecracker being a pedophile and ngl I feel lime the crew did too. But generally it's meant to be in the context of the eyes of Vought, so of it were seen from The Boys' perspective audiences would be less sympathetic, regardless: she had it coming. And about The Boys not really working together, it's definitely leading up to some comic-inspired fall out amongst the group.

The scaling for Firecracker does not come from her own statement but her holding her own against kimiko so I'll hard disagree on that one. I think it's just a pierce vs blunt thing and a showing of homelander's strength.

Better than the last one. Butcher at least has some humanity. The cameos were fine but a lot of the episode was just passing time. So with Firecracker dead, Homelander will just declare himself God outright.
Sister Sage is just pointless. She is the worst written "smart" character I have ever seen. Well not her fault, the writers can only write smart character with whatever intelligence they have.

Maybe he wasn't knocked out and was merely testing soldier boy. Soldier boy for sure wouldn't have let this chance off if Homie was really knocked out.

There's also a statement that says Homelander can stop bullets.
We know nothing about how dangerous this breath is. It's probably just comparable to Soldier Boy who can be knocked out by Novichok.
Soldier Boy had no way of knowing if Homelander was truly knocked out or not. He genuinely helped Homelander.

I'm tired of all the pointless, out-of-pocket, crudeness, especially The Worm. At least it was almost always paired with something interesting in the comics and the earlier seasons.
The writers seem to have erased so much of all the characters' characterisation from season 4.
Does Sage even make detailed plans on-screen in this season? And I don't mean just stating her ideas or a motivations, or claiming that something is an obstacle to her plans.
And merciless killer who demonstrably does not care about using religion to manipulate the public. I don't see the point of this plotline, either.

I'm a huge The Boys fan, but it's one of the few things that annoys me about the show.

I don't care. They did nothing to set up how strong it is, so I'm taking it at face value.
And, even if it was some ridiculously strong breath, Homelander is supposed to be THAT guy. A super that could even kill Soldier Boy.
The fact that someone can just breath in his face and incapacitate him takes away from the narrative that the story has been building around Homelander.

To be honest, I thought she was a well-written example of a character who's lauded as intelligent by the system and for academic purposes despite being dumb in a lot of more important areas.
She kind of reminds me of a younger me. I was a 'gifted child', top of my class, constantly called a genius by everyone around me.
Yet looking back, all I can think is that I was a complete idiot in every way that actually mattered.

It's not gonna end well, is it? I've seen some leaks, based on that its not that bad. But this episode looked better there too. Also don't be so mad about Homelander being knocked out that breath gas is probably the most powerful gas we've seen in a show yet simply because its Malchemical. Also Homelanders weaknesses are wwaaay too overexaggerated in communities online now. They're acting like Starlight's blinding killed him, or that this gas killed him. It didn't even damage him. Even with the gas, he was up after what, 10 mins?

The main issue with Homelander is that he's a pure statements and assumptions merchant. He's talked up, but is consistently shown to be far less than the hype implies.
If Homelander had even a mid-tier MCU strength showing on screen, I think people would be more lenient with him. But he's a visual bum who's best showings occurs in an animated spin off that's orders of magnitude more impressive than what he's done on screen.

I wonder how effective Homelander's healing ability is. He seems to be completely recovered from terrible radiation damage after a week or so, but he needed to cover up a bruise until it healed after his fight with Soldier Boy in season 3.

That's one of the few problems I have with this show too. Homelander is supposed to be the equivalent of Superman, but we don't even see him lift a car once.

I think fighting Soldier Boy, Butcher and Hughie [we don't know where exactly to put two of these btw] and getting a single bruise is impressive but everyone is treating that as if he terribly lost too

Its not then fighting as much as the fighting being bad. Like Maeve stabbing Homelander with a metal needle isn't entirely an anti-feat, but it's also not impressive either.
Like Homelander is less visually impressive than Titans Superboy or CW Supergirl. There's no "Oh Dang" momente where he does something that wouldn't imply he lives up to the hype.

I do kinda miss Season 1 Homelander when he felt way more scary & imposing. Nowadays he really doesn't seem like the powerhouse he was hyped up to be. He's pretty much only being carried by his numerous statements but has never shown anything above Tier 8 in the show. I get that the show doesn't have the highest budget for big action scenes, but you're a freaking superhero show, I'd appreciate an occasional big explosion or destruction feat or even just a decent action scene showing off his power.
It kind of also drags down the story a lot. We have all these claims that Homelander is super dangerous, that The Boys have no idea how to take him down, that if he were to go full rampage mode there would be nothing anyone could do to stop him, yet he has 0 feats that actually convince me of that, which really bogs him down as a villain. If he's this dangerous, actually show us, don't just tell us. At the very least make him seem like a competent threat that any decent military couldn't take down in an afternoon.
"No weapon worked on him" my ass throw some poisonous gas at him & lock him up like you did Soldier Boy
