Are you implying he trained so hard he grew astronomically faster with a lesser support system or that he just got astromically faster just cuz?
A-Train's speed has been off since S1, but I don't really see a point in trying to justify the difference.

That was my thinking back when it happened, but then I realized it's still an inferior heart to his original in his prime. A-Train was the fastest natural supe amd was still way stronger than Blue Hawk despite his failing health. He's older, has an inferior heart, and is on the run (heh heh) without the quantity or quality of Vought's nutritional resources.

A bit nitpicky but this is technically wrong. I believe his all time record (without Comp Vs) was beaten by Shockwave off screen.

But we're talking about a significant increase in speed for A RUNNER. This isn't like Marie, the only person whose growth has been focused on like this and as far as well know had no real help with training at Red River, as Reggie has had to train hard just to get on the team. Starlight also doesn't seem to fully grasp the scope of her powers. Reggie just runs fast, which is seemingly common among the supe community.
We don't really know when A-Train started dosing and how it correlated to his record. For all we know, it could've started as a fear and allowed him to start slipping before actually faltering. He implied he was significantly slower (for a pro) than he had been before, and if V I'd as crazy as it sounds throughout the series, we don't even really know how fast he is officially (in universe) before quitting V and getting a fresh (who knows how healthy Bluehawk was) heart.
Again, it's kind of a bit much to explain it away when it's just a case of creator perspective vs science perspective.

I guess this could be true, but if he's able to run at 371 m/s with V while being past his prime; It doesn't make no sense that his pr in his prime without V is 339 m/s.
Though, I agree that his speed with Bluehawk's heart shouldn't be 339 m/s. His profile states that he's back at his peak health after the surgery, which I don't remember ever being stated by anyone except for maybe Ashley, who isn't really a reliable source.

What I meant was speedsters in particular have to be at their peak to be famous, just like real-life runners and other athletes. Supes jumping in power is incredibly rare in universe, with Marie (pushed by Cipher, having had no assistancebeforehand), Starlight (allowed access to an imperative amount of energy; her powers are based around an exterior source of power), and maybe Maeve (went from shattered her arm catching a bus to breaking blood vessels in Homelanders nose, as funny as that is to say). It would make little to no sense for Reggie to jump in speed while out of his prime and cut off from Vought's or any other sponsor's resources. His power is straight forward, so unless we're told and or shown him getting amped or otherwise getting faster for a reason, he shouldn't be any faster than when he was Ved up in S1 (which is plausible given the dire stakes).

It's obviously an outlier. Of course just because it is one doesn't mean it has to be ignored considering there are quite a few, like in season 1 vs Starlight.
A-Train on paper is just meant to be a tad above the speed of sound. But since the showrunner/writers are not power-scalers, or simply don't care, they give him a lot of Flash-like scenes (again cause he is based on him).
This naturally ends up with some of the speed feats he is capable of not matching up with his stated speed.
And honestly this isn't just for him, anime/manga and even comics are filled with characters doing feats calculated as being very fast (like dodging lightning, light, etc) only for the authors to come out and give a ridiculously low number for the actual character's speed. So it is what it is.

Why doesn't A-Train scale to hauling an actual whole train? I've seen real people haul 40k lbs planes, but thats with a lot of setup and a rope, A-Train can do it just with his legs. One that I don't think had fully healed. Is it because of the compound V? because we know via the show displaying it that although there IS a boost, A-Train can still downscale the lifting

Rope doesn't change the weight you have to pull though. It just makes it so that you have to pull the weight not push it. Pretty sure A Train uses a rope in the scene as well.
Pulling or pushing something off the ground doesn't scale your LS to the full weight of the thing you're pushing or pulling.

Tbh, I don't think it would upgrade A-Train much. This is A-Train pulling the train [sorry for the goofy music btw lol]. A few things, as was mentioned already pulling heavy does not require the same LS as actually lifting it. Also, he has a setup and is doing this on the track which lowers any potential value even more. The track is assisting him, because it's made to help the train move along, and has less resistance. He only needs to move a small fraction of its full mass to move it here. And he's not doing it very fast either. It would be impressive for a normal human, but not for someone with super strength.

Actually, since I just remembered that I had this webpage about friction saved I did something quick, pulling a train on the track is like 10x easier than pulling a vehicle with wheels too assuming the size is the same. At the speed A-Train was going this could be done by IRL Olympian depending on the train size. Pulling a small train (6000 US tons) is around Peak Human [2433.2872 N or ~~ 248.13 kg], but that's like 100 kg below the current IRL records. Pulling a large train (18000 US tons) would take around Class 1 [7299.86159 N ~~ 744.38 kg]. Even if he was pulling the largest train in the world, at the speed he was moving its only Class 5+ [44584.238 N ~~ 4546.33 kg]. He would have to be a train larger than the normal range to only slightly boost his tier lol.

I don't think it can be just called an outlier if he consistently has way faster speed feats like this one in season 5, which could happen. Also, I don't consider Starlight in season 1 to be an outlier at all; her beams are not light speed, and A-train is just way faster.
