Tensura Light Novel Revision : Ultimate Skill User Resistance

So, basically those who acquire Ultimate Skills will not be affected by lower skills.

Like Rimuru unaffected by Masayuki Honjou's Unique Skill

So, this means that Ultimate Skill Users have resistance to Unique Skill's abilities.

So, I have a proposal to add Resistance to Fate Manipulation, Causality Manipulation, Life and Death Manipulation based on Ultimate Skills unaffected by Unique Skills, such as Unique Skill 'Cook' and 'Tempter'.

Who will get Resistance: Rimuru Tempest, Ruminas Valentine, Granbell Rosso, Yuuki Kagurazaka.

But isnt cook can equel to US users.. or maybe thats the WN
Shion until now had never faced an Ultimate Skill user, how could you say it was equal?

Even in WN, Shion's Unique Skill must evolve to Ultimate Skill 'Tyrant Lord Susanoo' to be able to fight Dagruel.

This needs more careful look and verification.
Raphael considered Shion's abilities as a legitimate thread to Rimuru.
IIRC Raphael also analyzed Mariabell's Unique Skill first and formed a barrier, Rimuru didn't resist it purely because of being an Ultimate Skill user. I will have to recheck this though, also because Sin and Virtue series are possibly at the Ultimate level even as Uniques. Among other examples brought up right now in the thread.

In short while Ultimate Skills cancels out or resists most magic it doesn't necessarily mean all magic. It's better to gather scans to confirm specific instances of those actually happening.

Raphael considered Shion's abilities as a legitimate thread to Rimuru.
Because Raphael felt Shion's Ultimate Skill was dangerous for Rimuru, Raphael therefore 'locked' Shion's skill evolution.

So, while it wasn't an Ultimate Skill, Raphael didn't see it as a danger.

After all, Rimuru could use Shion's Unique Skill and could gain resistance to it just by analyzing it.
also because Sin and Virtue series are possibly at the Ultimate level even as Uniques.
Unique Skill 'Sloth' was said to be able to be resisted by the one who acquired the Ultimate Skill. While Unique Skill 'Sloth' is one of the Unique Skills included in the Deadly Sins Series.
It was a non-lethal, wide range attack of the Unique Skill ‘Sloth.’

All life forms would be lulled into a deep sleep and would not be able to wake up until the caster released them. There was no point in resisting with will power. It was one of the most powerful abilities of the deadly sin series, but it took a long time to activate, just like the name “sloth” implied.

However, only those with Ultimate Skill would be able to resist it. At the unique skill level, it was a fearsome attack that could be said to be the strongest. (volume 16)

You can put resistance there but Ultimate Skill users being completely unaffected by non-Ultimate skills have been proven incorrect multiple times.

Yeah, I'm just saying Ultimate Skill Users are not affected by the abilities of lower skills (Unique Skills). Ultimate Skills can still be affected by other things, such as the holy magic 'Disintegration'.

In Volume 18 we found out how to deal with Ultimate Skill Users when Rimuru conversed with Gazel. Hefty will power and mental strength can match Ultimate Skills.
“There's no point in asking for what you don't have. More importantly, do you think you can compete with an Ultimate Skill if you become a spiritual life form?”

“That's not an absolute either. It's natural that there are differences between individuals depending on the number of years they've lived, but a newborn archdemon still seems to be useless. If one has a strong will and the mental strength (energy) to support it, then they can resist the ultimate power.”

“Meh, your explanation is too vague to understand…”

No, I don't think that’s the case.

But if you're going to go that far, I’ll make it simple.

“In short, it's about spirit!”

I didn't want to say this because it was more of a gut feeling.

It would be a mistake to think that you can cover up anything with fighting spirit, but when it comes to an Ultimate Skill, other explanations were more difficult to explain than this.

For the most part, since we live in a world where a flash of a sword can split the atmosphere in a flash of light, there may not be much difference between swordplay and magic.

If you train your will power, you can distort even the laws of the world.

—It is easier to understand and everything will be all right if we assume that it is.

After listening to my explanation, Gazel became serious and fell silent.

I glanced at Agera, who was also looking thoughtful.

Then, Souei opened his mouth.

“It is exactly as Rimuru-sama says. As a recipient of an Ultimate Gift myself, I cannot speak too much, but I do feel that if I put my spirit on my sword, I can kill any opponent.”

Agera nodded his head in agreement.

“That is true. In my case, it was as if I sublimated all my will into a blade. With the will to kill the enemy itself, my own body becomes the blade, and I believe that nothing cannot be killed by my sword. Therefore, it can kill even formless things.”

That's right, Agera's skill was 'Blade Transformation'.

If we were to simply compare the existential value, Agera's transformed sword would not be better than the mythical-grade. However, Agera was superior in its sharpness. It is said that mythical-grade has a will, but it is still not as strong as human’s will. (Volume 18)

This is fine, i pity the guy who has to make a list of all the resistances this would grant though, cause that's gonna take some real time and effort.

Definitely need a blog with all the unique skills in the series that they would resist...

I don't think so. Because Disintegration is a Holy Magic, not a Skill. While Melt Slash is a sword art fused with Disintegration.
Magic is a skill

Actually, magic was also a kind of Skill.

This is proven by the fact that I was able to learn it by eating.

As you can see, there are many kinds of Skills, but the most important are the Unique Skills.

Death blessing is a part of lust, right? I think they would also get resistance to deconstruction, In the latest chapter Ruminas used death blessing which seems to be deconstruction

In Rimuru LN, his skills need to be upgraded:

Rimuru already got the ultimate skills:
Azatoth
Shub Niggurath
