Superman's speed

I think the MFTL+ Superman (Post-Flashpoint) shoud be removed since he had 2 months to build up that speed. He's consistently shown to have lightning speed, him going to Pluto to Earth in a minute would be a huge outlier considering his other speed feats.

Here are the scans:

Superman1
Superman2
Superman3

It's well known he can't travel MFTL within the Earth's atmosphere, as can't most DC characters save for a few exceptions. I don't see a point to this thread.

Yeah I know that, but I'm saying that even in space that feat isn't quanitfiable for a battle since the speed he was going at takes weeks to months to build up.

One question off-topic over here: shouldn't be the speed travel/flight very similar to combat/reflexes, ONLY if that speed isn't part of some skill or author statement? Should be needed some reflexes to avoid some space bodies or something

No travel speed and combat speed don't even have to be remotely close. For example, in the CW Flash show, in season 1, Barry has to push himself really hard to go at mach 1, but can easily react and catch bullets.

welp, I was refering to characters that lacks of feats, forgot to specifies. Example: if someone travel from London to Paris in about one second, without flying, we should assume that both combat and travel speed are the same (assuming that travel on straight line)

From what I've seen on the site so far, if there is only travel speed to go off of, we assume the combat is the same as travel.

I see no reason to remove the MFTL+ rating but I do concede that his combat speed has not been shown to be equal to his travel speed.

Perhaps we should adjust his speed to MFTL+ travel speed, MHS combat speed then.

We do not know his combat/regular movement speed as far as I know, but as is written on the speed page, this is frequently not remotely treated as the same thing as flight speed/travel speed within fiction. We have only written MFTL+ flight speed in his page however.

Well the scans linked above are examples of his combat speed which is comparable to lightning (repelled attacks while moving at that speed, supposedly attacked a monster at that speed) so MHS+ combat speed would be fair, at least until we get more feats.

Alternatively we can always note his combat speed as unknown.

"Unknown. At least MHS+" seems appropriate.

Okay. Thanks. It seems appropriate to close this thread then.
