Are you asking why boiling her brain would work on her? Because it's pretty simple, she needs it for cognitive functions.
Not that it matters, because he is not gonna do that in character. He might, however, expand his heat vision making it hard for her to block with only her bracers or focus it on parts of her to gain an edge in the fight, which he is prone to do.

Superman 6/10 via slight stats edge, versatility, hax, stamina and not being a completely idiotic brawling fighter that everyone in vs seems to think he is for whatever reason.
