Super Mario General Discussion Thread.

Should standees from wonder be considered reliant immortality or another form of self resurrection? Both limited either way

Another mobile vsbw moment

Also, does multiple king bob ombs exist? Or can he regen after self destructing. Noticed this and wanna know if he can possibly have a regeneration of some kind. I know he has type 4 immortality but is that the most he can get? I know in one m&l game along with 64 he can explode with no trace of him left. And then return or regenerate eventually.

Started work compiling new stuff for the crt. It's not a lot, so I should finish before the end of the week if I focus on working on it.
Update took way longer then it should have cause I didn't lock in (and tomodachi life started consuming my life) but I believe I got everything I want to add. I'm prob gonna drop the crt later today or tomorrow.

Would the Zero Damage Badge be Damage Negation or Invunerability?

They saw the reactions to miyamotos statement and immediately put this together to show they're not making Peach and Rosalinas relationship in the movie canon lol.

Very nice addition to the storybook, really liked Rosalina speaking with her younger self at the end.

"Varies based on power of bonds, High 6-A normally, up to 2-B"

I know this is minor at best, but the grammar is bugging me slightly. I would change it to this:

"Varies based on Bond Power. High 6-A normally, up to 2-B"

I don't know if the people of the thread agreed upon what to call it, but Bond Power is a bit more concise for the Tier section than Power of Bonds would be. And it wouldn't stop us from using the term "Power of Bonds" elsewhere in the pages, like in AP or the Notable Attacks/Techniques section.

I mean, we could just shorten it down to "Bonds" if we want to keep it concise
...I havent really took the time to truly read the thread. (Never gave input) Do believe the cast should have a tier 2 key. But unfamiliar with bonds as a whole. So neutral specifically on bonds I suppose
The gist is basically that friendship/love isn't just an abstract concept in the Super Mario verse, but a real, tangible force that empowers people and binds them and the multiverse together. This force, called Bonds, is why the Bros. are able to pull off all the bullshit they do, why they can defeat enemies far stronger than themselves, and it's what gives Mario the will and power necessary to rescue Peach.

We are pretty much just using it to explain why the Bros. can do shit like fight Dreamy Bowser in base despite all the antifeats, that's all

Did they miss adding bonds to Mario’s power star key? Or did I miss something in that crt
I think it was just done to remove clutter

Also, we should REALLY get to making a P&A page for Bonds since literally every character in the verse has access to it (save for like, Culex ig)
I think the basic abilities iirc are Empowerment, Energy Manipulation/Projection, Stat Amp, Accelerated Development, Extrasensory Perception/Clairvoyance/Cosmic Awareness, Supernatural Willpower, Fate Manipulation, Magic, Light Manipulation, Negation of Gohlm/Void abilities, and self-Life/Soul Manipulation (I think)

Looking into some stuff for King Boo, I think Tennis Aces makes his (And potentially Boo's in general?) resurrection combat applicable. There's the whole thing from SM64DS where King Boo says ghosts will always rise from the dead after he's been defeated and his body dissipates, and in Tennis Aces you can beat him and make him poof in the standard way Boo's do when you hit them, then he shows back up 2 minutes later completely fine.

Initially thought he was teleporting away when beaten but the animation for him just warping away is a bit different from his defeat animation, but not sure if we could apply to this all Boo's or if King Boo's greater powers lets him come back quicker than the other members of his species can.

So possible mid godly? Given boos are described as souls?

Yeah maybe, was kinda iffy about it since in some cases you can see visible parts of a Boo still remain (Like with King Boo in 64DS) and float away after they're beaten, but most of the time they just vanish as a puff of ghostly vapour or whatever.

Sort of related:

Also:
WHAT.

This looks cool and all but man I could not care for the story being the second remake of 64 (Third if we wanna count Star Fox 64 3D), which itself was a remake of the snes game.

So if I am not mistaken it would be at least mid high. That said they should probably have immortality type 4 and resurrection instead of type 3 and regeneration given it only seems to happen when they would otherwise die.

The planet was once ruined ages ago by the moon crashing into the surface but the creatures within the book guy were saved from the destruction because a professor predicted this would happen and made that book to save the creatures by storing them inside him, and the final boss is a crazy dayzee that mutated into another moon(?) that tries to crash itself into the surface again. Why do the Yoshi games have lore like this?

I might pick this game up.

So apparently the implication for when this game happens is that it takes place before all of Kameks appearances in the present day because he got stuck in the book when Bowser was a baby and he had no idea that any noticeable time had passed in the real world until he escapes with Jr and Yoshi and sees a grown up Bowser at the castle because he spends the whole game thinking Jr was Bowser.

I guess that WOULD explain a few things...

It's true, at the very end of the game the book erases Yoshi and all of reality on a type 2 information level and Yoshi regens just 3 seconds later before defeating him and restoring all the infinite layered dimensions the book erased.
