[Spunch Bop] Why 2 Ratings?

Spongebob and other characters from the same verse have 2 ratings (from 4-A to 3-C) for no apparent reason.
They don't have a Varies rating or anything that I can see. If their feats are inconsistent then just pick a tier that is consistent.
To quote our Attack Potency page:

These are characters, weapons, etcetera, whose power levels are subject to change, as well as profiles of races/species whose power levels vary depending on the member. “Varies” ratings should only be given to characters who have a canon explanation for why their statistics fluctuate. This does not include characters who are simply inconsistent or have unexplainable variations in their displayed power level. The fluctuations in power must have a clear and logical basis within the character's respective canon.

So either they should get a Varies rating based on an actual logical reason for their power levels to be different at different times, or they should just be given a single solid rating. Simple.

Yah there's no reason for the pages to be like that, especially when sections like speed and LS have a single rating

Pretty sure the reason why is because there was a point in time in which the cast couldnt pull off said 3-C feats and now they can but, who knows

I agree that there is not explanation for a varies ratings. And that a solid rating just seems more consistent for the cast, but where they land seems to be a different story. As many would see their extreme high end feats as outliers.

I'm fine making them solidly 3-C. Looking back at the reasoning for why I had 2 ratings on him, it seems pointless since the 4-A feats are only meant to be support for his 3-C rating and thus including a low end would be redundant.

Nah downgrade SpongeBob to below-human again, it's funny

Imo, just remove his Tier 3 rating, the arguments and feats used are really weak. The First Feat was done with unknown amounts of preparation time and with unknown means, and the context of the scene is "these are literally painted on / prop decorations" with no reason to trust these as actual galaxies.

But the the Second Feat is straight up bad, where "Spongebob created a galaxy sized space by reuniting with spatula," when none of that happened, the episode literally jokes that SpongeBob was still in the Krusty Krab, with nothing actually happening. It's just the generic "Insert Cosmos for special moment!!!"(I guess we need to upgrade Gumball to 4-A now too)

Absolute best you can do is a possibly rating for the first feat (while discarding the second)

personally i have no real opinion on what they get knocked to, it makes no difference to me
i'll probably put your proposal in the OP so that anyone who looks at the thread can see what the replacement would be and keep it updated if anything changes

Dreams in SpongeBob are considered to be real via Subjective Reality, and SpongeBob has had some instances in the show where he disrupts dreams that should be comparable in size to the realm with the galaxies in the background.
