Also, it's a shame Nicholas wasn't in NWH. From what I've heard he was disappointed he wasn't contacted.
Bro, he is by far the worst live action Spider-Man, we're lucky he didn't come back (I can't even ironically praise the show, its that bad)

I mean that doesn't really matter, the film and directors could have given him a much better script, and much better effects than what was available in the 70's. There's always a second chance you know.

Counterpoint: 70s Hulk was a based as hell show. CBS Spider-Man had no excuses
He was that bad?
Imagine Peter Parker if he had zero Peter Parker problems, zero quips, no good villains (or really any villains, he just fights crooks with forgettable plotlines), no love interests, no interesting dynamics with characters, no hints at even the slightest motivation to fight (even MCU Spider-Man has a reason to fight without directly showing us Ben), and no good fight scenes

People who say "He would've been a great older Spidey to return" clearly haven't actually watched the show and just assume it was "good enough" to work

I never watched the show, but damn, that's a very deep cut

Fair point. But still, just because of missteps by the previous company that made the films doesn't mean that the actor shouldn't be bashed with what he had to work with. This is basically what happened with Andrew's Spider-Man.

I legit think Watts would have nothing to work with for CBS Spider-Man. I mean, I guess you could be like "Oh haha I fought myself once" (Crisis already did that with Donnerverse Superman), but he would literally have nothing to add substance wise. Can I talk about losing loved ones in his battle against crime? No. Can he share his experience from the past to aid in the final battle? No. Can he even do science shit? No he can't because the writers just thought that if you put any white guy in a Spider-Man suit, its good enough. Its no wonder Stan Lee publicly stated he disliked the CBS Spider-Man show because its garbage that doesn't understand why people actually like Spider-Man.

As odd as it sounds, the Spider-Man Tokusatsu (Supaidaman) gets the Spider-Man stuff you need to get right despite being a very different series. Takuya Yamashiro loses loved ones in his journey. We know exactly why he fights. He has some interesting monsters to fight. He has a girlfriend and family to protect. He literally fights people who have gone across the galaxy destroying civilizations. Takuya even has cool powers and equipment thats explained to the audience and used frequently. Wow, its almost like Toei actually knew the core elements of Spider-Man and used them despite taking a different direction regarding the mythos. Stan Lee said he liked this version of Spider-Man quite a lot.

**** yeah, they gotta get Todo back. Really hope they do since they didn't get Paul Soles back to play 60s Spider-Man in that little end credits gag
