Yeah I kinda figured it was a general agreement that point blank wasn't a reasonable scenario.... The statement isn't about "Let's let a nation try everything they have point blank range" it's about them taking the nation down in a general sense where they defeat the military force. So idk why you assumed that. I should've clarified the statement more if anything.
And no, when people say escape, it is almost never assumed point blank. When we talk about escaping a hurricane or a tornado, do you seriously believe we're talking about point blank? When we talk about escaping a house invasion, do you think that means the intruders are pointing the gun right at you? Do you think people who escape school shootings is about them being point blank to the shooter? Or maybe a tsunami, do you think people who escape a tsunami means they outran it at point blank range?
And it does make grammatical sense lmao, when we say outrun we can mean faster or
further, not "they started moving from the same starting point"
. Obviously, we are talking about further since that was my entire point as I brought up the distance the missiles explode at (kms in the sky) or them outrunning the blast radius.
Yeah true the nuke has to land after it's traveled hundreds of km from a remote area. Just traveling Japan from North to South, 2000km+, in seconds would require mach 100+ to do so in a minute. Imagine now in America, which is double 2000+km, how long a nuke might take. Like sure if we assume a sgs decided to fight right at a silo then you'd have a point, but that isn't a realistic scenario.
