Because most of Pikachu's attacks he's gonna open with are electirical and thus ineffective. This lets Sonic get free hits in, and fights generally snowball from something like that.

Too many people are sad about SSBU's "deaths." They didn't die. They were taken out, but we see other characters on the overworld. Either that, or they were ressurected or something like that.

If speed amps are a thing, I think Pikachu wins in speed. Agility can multiply his speed by up to 6 times.

I'm going with Pikachu. He knows feint to get rid of the shields, growl to severely weaken sonic as well as tail whip to weaken defences. Thunder wave paralizes when those shields go down, then he spams thunderbolts, iron tail and volt tackle when sonic can't move

I don't know why, but I was half-tempted to argue that Sonic has Resistance to Status Effect Inducement. Then I remembered it was for Adventure/Modern Sonic only. 10-3 now.
