Sonic should have the AP advantage, and since you directly stated he incinirated Tails, Sonic would use his haxes much faster than he normally would regularly.

Naugus has complete control over fire, water, ice, and earth (and can shapeshift into said elements to stimulate intangibility), can transmute inanimate objects into crystal (potentially negating any equipment-based ability), has empathic manipulation, and has Reality Warping on a universal scale.

Sonic resists all of those iirc, has much higher AP and can use transmutation wit Ring Time (which isn't equipment based)

Also elemental manip doesn't negate durability usually.
