Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

?

I am not being aggressive, I am just pointing out you're complaining about people that don't exist. The same people that glaze Infinite don't downplay Kirby. It's the Goomba Fallacy:
images
With all due respect...
"Nobody does this. If anything Kirby is glazed to hell and back while Infinite is downplayed as being fodder."
And I never implied it's the exact same people even once. If you were referring to the meme template, I should've made it clearer that I was, as pointed out in my message, referring to a level of hypocrisy, where the same standards towards blanket statements for some characters seem to be ignored and pushed under the rug for others. As such, if we're playing with fallacies...

Straw Man fallacy
People of the sort do exist. Clearly, this doesn't apply to everybody, but the absolute dismissal of my example just needs to be pointed out.

False dichotomy

Where did I contradict myself? We can indeed have people supporting one and not the other without evidence, as I just stated.

Composition
This isn't black and white. People can glaze one or both. They can glaze neither, or not care either way.

Please don't talk down to me. Fallacies are a funny thing. We all walk into them all the time, a basic product of human error which requires relative writing expertise in order to avoid completely. If you want a debate, go for the concept, not the wording.

Word of God is true, but Infinite has nothing to back up being stronger than all of Sonic's previous foes. He's powerful, but are we really gonna say he has infinite power?
Eggman has been shown to overestimate his plans while underestimating Sonic's strength. He learns (somewhat) from his mistakes, but he's certainly cocky at times. I wouldn't wholeheartedly trust what he says at face value.
But we also still take Eggman's word of "it would take a miracle even with the Chaos Emeralds to stop metal". So it gets tricky. Which statements do we take and which ones don't well. Especially with Base characters making quick work of Adventure Era final bosses, it starts to add credence to something...

Eggman is a... mixed bag. Context is a huge factor when it comes to his statements.
A rule of thumb I like to use? If he gives a reason or evidence. He's usually gloating and puffing up his chest when he doesn't give, but he's still a scientist. And scientists love to back up statements they're serious about with evidence.
I guess It's a matter of what Eggman wants to portray --- Cocky villain? Genius? Both?

Prolly both, but still fair enough. Though WoG statement is still valid imo since it's from an official source. One thing I don't like is when there's ever a "toughest enemy yet" statement, people like to debunk that statement with the existence of Solaris, which I find rather annoying. Tired of Solaris getting glazed.

I gave multiple examples, so I'm good, right? 😅

Liam has always worn his biases for DC/against Sonic on his sleeve. He must be having an aneurysm over the crossover.

Fraudtra Sonic btfo.
Honestly my biggest problem with Ultra Sonic, as random as it is, is his design. It's....just Base Sonic, but with a yellow glowing ring surrounding with black sparkles of light flashing around him.

If the comics were trying to make that look like an upgrade to Super Sonic then, design wise, I think they didn't succeed.

I agree. If the form actually LOOKED good, made a bit more sense, appeared more, wasn't glazed, and had real lore, maybe I'd actually think it's KIND of cool. People always wanna bring up "erhm but hyper sonic is glazed and only has one appearance ☝️🤓" and sure, but Hyper Sonic actually looks cool, is rooted in actual lore (as simple as it may be), has had a long-lasting impact on the community, makes sense, and is an interesting concept. Ultra Sonic is none of these thing and its very few appearances paired with how often it's wanked it just dreadful. People have to SPECULATE how powerful it is and still nobody really knows. Many people who try and argue for Archie have never even READ/RESEARCHED the comics or gave it that much thought.

Yes, I was referring to the meme template. Also, you're wayyy to defensive right now. J agree hypocrisy exists, but if anything, I only see it from the Kirby side against Sonic. You need to chill out, you talked about me seeing everyone as an enemy, but it seeks you're seeing me as one simply because I didn't like your meme.

I was curious did Swan glaze other verses, and surprisingly he did glaze Sonic at one time...

...by agreeing that Spider-Man's villains would lose to him...

I wouldn't take someone's tweets that For Fun as serious evidence held against them in the court of VS

"Don't cry, little Sonic fan. Ol' Liam's got enough downplay to feed you your entire life. JERRY! Bring in the anti-feats, the boy's hungry!"

(I've been waiting to make that joke for when it was most relevant.)

If DC X Sonic ends up being canon, I'm really curious to see that cosmology map. They've established their multiverses are different, but there's still so much there to consider.
