Some Kingdom Hearts Maleficent Profile Rework

Okay so, I've been playing the 1.5 and 2.5 games recently and I noticed some stuff about Maleficent's profile. Namely, I think her profile is missing some abilities seen in the games and needs some rework. I don't think this is that controversial or big of an edit but I still think making a CRT is better. So here's what I planned for her.

Abilities

- Unholy Manipulation: This one is taken from the movie but also Birth by Sleep. In Aqua's story, Maleficent is fought as a dragon. Right before she transforms, she says to Aqua "See for yourself all the powers of Hell!". In the movie, Maleficent famously says a similar line to Philip in the same circumstances (Now shall you deal with me, o prince, and all the powers of Hell!) and it's stated to be official in Disney's canon that she's telling the truth, her powers literally come from Hell itself. Considering what she says in BBS, this should be the same for KH.

- Telekinesis: Two elements to support this. In the first game, Maleficent stands atop a floating platform during her boss fight in her base game. The cutscenes preceding the fight has her raising her arms and the platform starting to float and throughout the fight, she repeatedly makes it float again after Sora has damaged it enough to make it drop. The platform also follows wherever Maleficent goes, indicating she's moving it with her powers. We find another proof she has this ability in Kingdom Hearts re:coded. When she meets Data-Sora for the first time, she notices the Keyblade falling and makes it levitate with her spells before destroying it.

- Forcefield Creation: In Birth by Sleep, you can visit the Enchanted Dominion, Maleficent's homeworld. Naturally, this includes Maleficent's lair, the Forbidden Mountains. However, the FM's access is blocked by a large wall of fire in Terra and Ventus's stories and is only unlocked in Ventus's part. The wall is made of Maleficent's signature green and purple flames, indicating she created it from her magic. Also, during the boss fight against her base form in the first game, she stands on a floating platform. Said platform is protected by a forcefield that grants it its own healthbar. Sora has to deplete said healthbar to drop the platform but the shield returns regulary and is directly cast by Maleficent, thus confirming she has this power.

- Clairvoyance: In the first game, we see several scenes of Maleficent's council of villains watching Sora and his friend's progress from the chapel in Hollow Bastion. The spying is done by conjuring magical images of the group and like the wall above has the signature green color of Maleficent's magic. Another clue that the images are Maleficent's doing is a later scene where Riku is shown an image of Kairi's body (the only other villain present at the moment is Hades and his powers have either a blue or fiery orange color scheme). The image appears with the same green and purple color.

- Portal Creation: This one should be obvious. Maleficent repeatedly uses the Corridors of Darkness to instantly travel from one location to another, yet she doesn't have that on her profile.

- BFR: In Birth by Sleep, Maleficent meets with Aqua and offers her to follow her in her quest for power but Aqua refuses. Both of them are in her throne room, with Maleficent standing over her. Maleficent's reaction is to slam the ground, generating green light, and suddenly the ground below Aqua turns into shadows, breaks down and she's sent to the dungeon. The staff glowing and generating green light shows this isn't some kind of physical mechanism but a spell.

- Transformation & Intangibility: In the first game, one of Maleficent's abilities in battle is to turn into a floating orb of green fire/energy to move in the arena. In this form, Maleficent is impervious to all attacks. And in BBS, she can turn into a swirling disc of energy during the boss fight against her with Ventus. The intangibility would likely only apply to the orb form, as in BBS, her disc form can harm Ventus (though I guess this is a matter of opinion).

- Limited Weapon Mastery: Limited as in very limited, as Maleficent is clearly not a physical fighter in her base form. However, in both boss fights against her base form in KH1 and BBS, she uses her staff as a blunt weapon to hurt Sora and Ventus. In KH Union X, she's shown in a cutscene to block an attack from Lauriam and we know she defeats him in single combat. So while she clearly isn't an expert weapon user, she at least knows how to use her staff to defend herself.

- Invisibility, Light Manipulation, Creation, Precognition & Illusion Creation, Animal Manipulation: This is a bit tricky. These abilities are all powers she shows in the original movie but not the KH games since they appear in scenes not depicted in the various games. That is, until KH Union X Cross. This is quite complicated but to sum it up: Maleficent is revealed to be trapped in a data recreation of her homeworld and is trying to alter the events of her first defeat yet is unable to do so. This is, like in re:coded, the real Maleficent, who used her defeat in the first game after Ansem-Riku unlocked her heart and Sora and co beat her dragon form and the destruction of her body to travel to the past. The game recreates several scenes from the movie depicting these powers; namely, her turning invisible and using the light from the green orb of her staff to hypnotize Aurora and make her following her, conjuring the spinning wheel she uses for her curse, showing to a captured Prince Philipp visions of a sleeping Aurora and a potential future where he's old and decrepit and commanding her raven Diablo. The scene also mentions that Aurora will still be young and beautiful in the future and that Philipp will still be alive 100 years in the future, which like in the movie shows her curse stopped Aurora's aging and keeps Philipp alive even if he's more than 100 years old. So Life Manipulation and Age Manipulation.

- Shockwave Inducement (Both forms): This is a big question mark in her profile. Maleficent's most frequent attack in the boss fights against her dragon form is her slamming the ground repeatedly, particulary in the first game, to create powerful shockwaves that range from covering most to the entire arena. Even in re:coded, she does this. She should definitely have this. Also, in re:coded, when she first appears behind Sora, she knocks him down with a shockwave of green fire.

- Homing Attack (Dragon Form): Once again an ability for Dragon Maleficent. One of her attacks is to spew several fireballs that float around her head before homing on Sora and his friends to damage them.

- Bodily Weaponry (Dragon Form): Again, something she should have as a basis in this form. This would include fangs, claws and her tail, all of which she uses in the fight.

- Large Size (Dragon Form) (Type 1): Same as the above, she should have this.


Justifications for abilities

- Weather Manipulation: Maleficent's profile justifies this ability by stating that her D-Link, her power summoned by the player character (in her case, Terra) has the Thunderchaser technique which can summon a small thunderstorm cloud that fires powerful bolts of lightning at enemies below. While this is true, her having this power should not simply be based on this. Weather control is one of her most notable abilities even in KH. In the first game, one of her only attacks during the boss fight against her has her summoning a large storm cloud above her platform before firing purple lightning bolts against the party. And in Birth by Sleep, which introduces D-Links, she's shown controlling the weather like in the movie, most notably by casting her famous forest of thorns spell. I think her profile should add the justification that she can conjure storm clouds and thunderstorms.

- Summoning: Maleficent's profile states she can summon and control the Heartless. But there's another instance that could fit this power. In the first game, her sole offensive move during her boss fight aside conjuring storm and lightning is Meteors of Heaven, a technique that summons large meteors of dark energy. Since this wiki doesn't have a power specifically associated with meteors, Summoning would be the one most fitting. That or Darkness Manipulation since they seem to be made of dark energy/Shadows.

- Mind Manipulation: This one is present on the profile but it doesn't have a justification. So let's add one. In Birth by Sleep, Maleficent uses her power over sleep to awaken Terra's darkness and taking control of him. The scene has Terra trying to struggle against her with a painful expression, only to fail, fall down and then standing tall with a blank expression on his face before taking Aurora's heart on her command. He only snaps out of this state after she's gotten what she wants and is satisfied.

Reworking the profile itself

Maleficent's profile is a bit...clumsy and too heavy to say the least, at least to me. In addition of missing several abilities, her dragon form is mixed with her base form in the middle of the profile and some abilities are clumsily put next to each other. Therefore, I intend to add the abilities, a third tabber for her dragon form and the related abilities (though put before the Resistances tab) and rewrite the list of abilities's order to make it less clumsy.

Since the Maleficent we encounter in Union X Cross is the real one who time traveled, I think we can also add her Union X looks to her profile.

I think that Unholy Manip as a whole is an useless attribute for an ability in general (given it's really just bound to political / social qualifications over actually shown capabilities, let alone as a properly confirmed element than merely having a specific source), but that's more of an issue I have with the P&A as a whole than this qualifying here, it's probably fine as long what exactly falls as such is clarified when indexing to avoid mixing this up with KH Darkness Manip.

Portal Creation is an innate capability of KH Darkness users, so that should be merely indexed with KH Darkness Manip then listing that as something she has shown with it if anything.

Weapon Mastery by merely "holding" a weapon and barely using it like that would be inappropiate, that'd fit better in the intelligence section at that point IMO.

The Age Manip stuff seems inappropiate considering the context added in BbS of that being by having her heart stolen, which for someone with no darkness in their heart results on an empty vessel with the inability to age (cough Ventus), so this wouldn't really be an attribute Maleficent can directly use for it to be listed as a proper P&A, as this is more of a case of verse semantics leading to that kind of result without that being something she actually induces. Additionally Union X doesn't last that long in the timeline for the 100 years to even have passed, this seems more of a theoretical capability than what actually happened, so overall I'd disagree on listing this.

Everything else is fine by me.

Kinda forgot about KH Darkness already having PC and its own list of abilities (regular Darkness should also be removed from the profile then I believe). I also won't add Life with Age to considering it's part of the curse to. Same for mind manip (she should still get sleep as a specific ability since it's part of her personal curse, a spell she specifically uses in her boss fight with Ventus and a specific ability that is part of her D-Link so it's notable enough to deserve its separate mention).

For the Hell stuff, it's interesting to note that Hell is only referenced with her (and maybe Frollo in DDD) in the whole setting, indicating it's a different thing from the Darkness. Which of course also means it's never really explained what it is and I don't think it's going to be explained anytime soon (I mean, KH isn't really that afraid to tackle some serious and dark subjects but considering how much less vile Frollo has been made in the games, I doubt they'll go for religious matter). So yeah, while it would find its place in her Sleeping Beauty profile, here I think we can put it aside.

So if that's all, do you think I can apply the changes proposed here?

this justification feels really weak to me and I think we should need more then this line. The rest I agree with.
 
Okay, so unholy manip, life & age manip get out and mind manip is already included in KH Darkness. Is Summoning ok if I add the Meteors of Heaven justification?
