Shovel Knight vs Kratos

I read that it was canon, how the Shovel Knight can fight on par with the God of war.

Who would really win though?

The duel shall take place at a deserted battleground

VS Battles Wiki is a long series of educated guesses to help determine the likeliness of someone's fanfiction being accurate.

Canon > Fanon

Therefore, the little guy wins.

Probably Kratos due to his ridiculously varied arsenal.
An arsenal that doesn't do anything because his foe is moving at speeds far faster than 186,000 miles per second.

What are you even talking about? This is Shovel Knight, who is only MHS+ due to scaling from Kratos.

...Wait a minute... this isn't Pit versus Kratos...

Ah, I see. I thought this was another thread I was in.

I'm voting Shovel Knight because that's more canon than this entire site.

Shovel Knight literally already won.

This is pretty much my entire standpoint on the matter.

They're wondering if, according to this site, Shovel Knight could beat Kratos using only the power the two have shown up to this point.

My response is that the two characters met in one of their home 'verses and not in some non-canon crossover title, so "Power Creep, Power Seep" does not apply.

Between this site and an in-universe statement, I'll take the in-universe statement any day. I use this place as a rough estimate and a collection of trivia, not gospel.

Like I said, the only reason to think that Shovel Knight beats Kratos is that he did. He has absolutely no feats that would put him on Kratos' level besides that. Heck, Plague Knight's Ultimate Potion, which was supposed to grant him power considered "unstoppable" in the Shovel Knight universe, only produced a large building level explosion. Unless the fight is canon, Kratos wins. If it is, Shovel Knight won.

Adding this to Shovel Knight's Notable Victories would be like adding Aerith to Sephiroth's, though.

I will argue that the fight is canon.

Shovel Knight wouldn't be allowed this victory by our site's research and theories on how powerful each character is, but our site has all of the authority on how powerful, skilled, or capable a character is as a dog has on what its master will cook for dinner and all the legitimacy of a fanfic.

At least the game acknowledges that Kratos is a lot tougher than most everything in the game, having 2.5 health bars, highly damaging attacks, and a fight that smashed an old ruin to pieces with his great strength. It was definitely not quick and painless.

We have tons of feats from people beating people out of their league, but you know what those are called outliers. Lets bring up black panther restraining silver surfer do we accept that feat god no, but it is cannon and did happen. So we toss it in the pile of outliers because does panther usually fight herald class enemies and win nope. Has he shown being able to fight someone who creates black holes or at least gotten a power up or upgrade. Than the feat is label an outlier due to inconstancy issues with the feat. So that goes no different for video game cross overs shovel knight has never shown any feats that constantly put him near island level or even moutain. So him beating kratos is an outlier

Eh, fine then. We'll scrap it.

This is the one thing I don't like about these kinds of debates. The authors often don't stay consistent enough to work with them.
