Should we use this image somewhere?

@Ryukama

So, what do you think about the notion of inserting button-style small round image links to the various media types featured in this wiki next to each other in the front page?

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Are you talking about a circle shaped picture where if you click on it, it takes you to a category page?

Yes, similarly to what we have in the mobile version of the page, but preferably more elegantly designed.

Well like Gwynbleiddd said, I personally prefer the more minimalistic design. As I feel it is more professional looking. If you can give a clear outline of what you want though, I can try to help.

Well, I am also leaning towards the more minimalistic design, but it might help to gain new visitors if they can quickly and easily navigate our different media categories.

I am leaning towards round buttons for each of our 10 main media categories, with the image of a single related iconic character representing each of them, and the text "Manga", "Anime", "Comics", "Games", "Books", etcetera, in front. They could be placed in 2 rows of 5 images each.

However, it is just an experimental notion that we could try out, and discard if it turns out to worsen the front page, rather than enrich it.

Anime - Goku

Books - Harry Potter

Cartoons - Maybe Steven Universe, Ben 10, or Korra?

Comics - Superman

Games - Mario

Light Novels - Perhaps some To Aru character?

Manga - Luffy

Movies - Darth Vader

TV Series - The Doctor

Visual Novels - Perhaps an Umineko or Masadaverse character?

Here are my current suggestions. Featherine or Hajun might be best to represent visual novels.

I'll just whip up the pictures real quick. You do whatever you want with them.

Okay. Thank you for the help. As I mentioned, I am not making any promises. It is just an experiment to see if this might be a good idea.

Well like I said I prefer we not use pictures and go with our current page which is perfectly fine and professional. But here are some pictures. If you want different pictures, you can go get them for me and I can crop them.

Thank you for the help.

However, I prefer this image for Luffy, and this image for Superman.

In addition, you forgot a Mario image for games, and we might need a text describing each of the media types.

I can't use a transparent image for Luffy or else you won't really be able to tell it's a circle and it won't fit with the other pictures. Also I think text can be added to each picture the way we do for the DC and Marvel pages.

Okay. No problem. I will check for another image.

Thank you. Those images look fine. Just one for Games with Mario left then.

Thank you.

I have to go through the daily backlog first, so I will not have the time to attempt to insert the image links into the front page yet, but will try later, unless somebody else is willing to do so in the meantime.

Also, take note that this is just an experiment. Nothing is decided yet.

Well I'm busy running some real life errands as well and having to go to bed after. So I don't think I can either.

Okay. No problem.

What background colour do you think that we should use for the text segments? The Marvel and DC pages use black, but that seems far too moody compared to our general layout.

Also, what is the appropriate colour code? I am not well-acquainted with this subject.

I tried out the background thing. It doesn't work at all. I'll try to come up with something else

Okay. Thank you for the help.

It's not an issue with color. You can't have a circle shaped image and a DC style text border.

How about this?

That is excellent. Thank you. Although the blue square should probably be placed a little bit further down.

My program refuses to work with me in regards to that square. I'll try something though.

Okay. No problem.

I'm sorry but this is the best I can do. If this isn't good, I think I'll have to be finished. Our current page is perfectly fine though and still able to be kept though.

Thanks, Matt. Appreciate the kind words.

I also like it.

I'll try making some for the other guys as well.

Thanks.

Sorry but I have to call it quits after this. Do whatever you want with the images.

Thank you very much for the help. Sorry about asking this, but is it possible to handle the 2 last ones as well? For Manga and Visual Novels?

You can do it later if you wish.

I did those. Just forgot to upload. On it now.
