I'm just going to start off by saying I am a long time Kirby fan and while that meens I have some positive bias, I try not to let that cloud my judgement. however as a long time fan who's often pondered the real life requirements of fictional settings I have formed an idea of Kirby's home planet Popstar that I wish to know if it's sensibal and would actually change how we view Kirby splitting the planet in half/destroying it completely. what the hell is it actually made of?
given what we know, popstar is a planet of simular size to earth and somewhat simular biomes to earth, however unlike Earth and really most other planets in general popstar is shaped like well, a star. It's also clear that this is the planet's actual shape as every single image and depiction of it is pretty much the same. Now I'm nowhere near the most knowledgeable on how planets work, but I definently know that they shouldn't normally be able to look like this; and while we have no idea how Popstar got it's shape it most likely means that whatever the planet's made of is durable enough to have pretty much mountains the sizes of continents, and this is the planet kirby can break in half, with one punch. also pretty sure it isn't a gravity manipulation thing as popstar's often present rings orbit only the center of the planet and seem pretty uneffected by the mountains.
