TF2 lore is full of hyperbole in general, and I think this blurb *probably* isn't a valid representation of the Scout's speed. Are there any other examples?

I don't think so.

First off, the item is a promotional item that's essentially DLC (unless you want to scale L4D zombies to them for being hit with the same frying pan).

Secondly, this kinda contrasts the rest of Scout's feats.
