If he's aggressive that's just more chances for Sam to cut his swords to pieces, bit harder to change the sword's direction when you've put plenty of momentum into it going one way.

There isn't really any indication on whether he does or not imo, beyond the fact that he's forced to use it for some boss QTEs.

Yeah and Sam spams the hell out of that. Not to mention that HF Blades have a deceptive amount of range to their swings.
