Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

As i guess apologies are enough for no action to be taken by staff members, i'll leave this situation by stating how f*ing much i despise false accusations

Personally it is traumatic to me (though i won't open myself up here), leaves me rageful to do and say way worse than the colleague who came here to say whatever he wanted. This type of s* is unnaceptable and if it depended on me i would keep protesting until his name actually appeared in the Warning Tracker, since the purpose of warnings as i see it is for the exact reason of trying the best to make sure nobody else will be doing this behaviour.

If anyone cares, anyone who does this have my most absolute hate and i do not wish contact from.

Hope our staff members' time wasn't that much deeply spent on that.
 
The reports made here were made in highly inappropriate manners, the actual legitimacy of their contents aside. This is not a place to bicker back and forth, nor to clutch one's pearls about how wronged one is. The rules of the RVRT are such that spamming it, even if done in the creation of a legitimate report, is itself a violation. Using it in the way it has been used makes it much more difficult for staff members to get a grip on the situation.

I am not going to hand out warnings to anyone involved, but please try to use the thread responsibly in the future. You only make it worse if you spam.
 
I also want to mention what happened after I reported Jinx, because I genuinely think it reflects poorly on her behavior as a user. Last Saturday, Jinx made several edits to profiles without permission, including adding a “Possibly” tag to Monster Squad Frankenstein’s stamina:

This changes how the statistic works and should have required a CRT, so I reported the edit in the Vandalism Report Thread:

This was also not the first time she made unsupported changes to profiles without proper approval, as similar situations already happened recently with pages like Pinocchio and several others.

On the very same day I reported her, Jinx suddenly requested the deletion of one of the pages I created:

The deletion request was later rejected by staff because the reasoning behind it was weak. During the discussion, Jinx said things like:

''Unlucky coincidence for me but now ig you know how it feels 🤷‍♂️'' and “Same with the Youtube Shorts stuff. Its all being discussed, but the wiki has lost the plot on what it allows for pages."

Because of the timing and the way she responded, it honestly came across as a petty and retaliatory reaction to being reported rather than a genuine deletion request.

I replied by saying:



“Just in case, it honestly comes across as if Jinx is asking for a page I created to be deleted after I reported them in the Vandalism Report Thread, even though the justification for the deletion is weak.”

I also think it is worth noting that Lephyr later deleted some of Jinx’s replies in the deletion thread, which admins should still be able to view. I believe those replies are relevant context for understanding the tone and behavior displayed during the situation.

Overall, I think this situation is relevant because, together with the repeated unsupported edits and profile changes, it shows a pattern of emotionally-driven and disruptive behavior whenever her edits are criticized or reported.

This just reminded me that there was a similar incident with Jinx a little while ago with Pokémon (which I don't think got properly reported because everyone, including me (sorry about that), forgot about it).

They updated this page with a calculation that hadn't been accepted in a content revision thread yet, and, while the stat change is ultimately minor, it's still a stat change (also, the speed this calculation gives is twice as fast as the previous one).

They were that changing it without a CRT wasn't allowed, but then they did it anyway. Then, there was a fairly lengthy-ish, on-and-off back and forth with Jinx about this over the next page or two. KLOL tried to get mods involved, but I think they were busy and forgot.

The edit is still on the page, too, which is probably something that should've been taken care of a while ago, but I forgot about it. Sorry about that.

(There was a recent thread that would put Pokémon speed around the same level as this calculation, but it was made  after this edit was done, and it doesn't use the calculation anyway I was told that it does actually use that calculation, not that the thread would change the fact that this was a rule violation anyway).

Nothing was retaliatory. I have no idea what my 'words' are implying other than the irony that someone can feel targeted over that.

It was an unlucky coincidence i stumbled across the Old Evil Wizard page with the Random Page button i was using (I have been doing this for days), which i had NO idea was made by this person. I've been very vocal prior on how i feel about pages for Youtube Short skits and Tiktok greenscreen skits, and I never check whose actually made a poor quality page when i suggest it for deletion.

I still think the wiki shouldnt be allowing low-effort pages for characters/verses like this, just because the Youtube Short/TikTok algorithms can give you millions of views for free. The standards for what is allowed when theres an entire Joke Battles Wiki made for this stuff is far too stretched.

Either way theres nothing to actually prove who is right in this scenario, so kindly dont try and make facts out of how you perceive my 'emotions'. I could very much say the same for you constantly feeling the need to tattle and report me over complete nothings, which I perceive as petty.

While there were some reasonable reports in the past, I really do not think the most recent on was justified. It's case by case if the change was "Not to the stats but to the summary/descriptions" of said stat. We shouldn't add URLs to unevaluated/unaccepted calculations though.

I have seen people trying to report her for "Adding an Unknown stat to intelligence," when there was no actual "rating." Which isn't even report worthy given that's actually a slight improvement. Same with removing stamina ratings no longer part of the system and changing it to Unknown. Those were actually agreed to be acceptable practices is updated outdated pages to either have stats that are part of our accepted ratings system and/or just change it to Unknown in cases where one doesn't know the character or verse's scaling but knows an outdated or absent stat rating when one sees one.

I also agree with things Antvasima and SomebodyData said. Even if the edits themselves aren't as bad as certain reports suggested, it's mainly her verbal responses to some of those comments that were considered harsh.

I personally think behavior like this is unacceptable, no matter how it even got to this. Regardless of whether or not the edits are sound, a CRT is still needed until the "Self-Evident Revisions" thread is inevitably made to resolve this.

She went in active defiance of said rule against two staff who told her to cut the shit and she couldn't even be bothered to wait. I believe a punishment of some kind is absolutely warranted here at this point.

The problem is not just the coincidence claim, it’s the timing and the way you responded afterward.

Saying things like “now you know how it feels” naturally makes it come across as personal and retaliatory, even if you say it wasn’t. That’s why SomebodyData also got that impression.

If it was really just a normal deletion request, there was no reason to make comments like that in the first place.
 
I want to add @StrymULTRA to my ignore/block list, or whatever it's called. I believe both these comments are grounds enough for that. Nothing against the guy on a personal level, but I don't want him to go after me complaining about a verse he likes in another general discussion thread and then get mocked for "still debating the verse".

I just don't wish to interact with the guy, and it seems like he can't leave me alone on a request-basis. If possible.

You quite literally tried to push a 3 year ban on me over minor stuff, which you got completely wrong, and i wouldnt exactly call your own behaviour and way you speak to people acceptable either. I've found you are frequently rude and aggressive while holding a staff position. I don't trust your input here isnt 100% impartial in itself if this ban is being factored for how much pushback i give.

Yeah, i dont respond kindly to people getting on my ass and trying to relight the fire in regards to all this. Lets not forget how absolutely minor these edits are, and most of them i either have a basis for or simply misunderstood. As much as its technically against the rules, theres 0 reason that the edits to the pages would create such a personal vendetta like this.
You can't expect me to be civil when you repetedly keep trying to report me over minor stuff, even bringing this up days later when it was over. You clearly only want one result from this yourself.

That does not mean i purposefully planned and did this, and then rehearsed some incriminating line to say. It was genuinely a coincidence, and I still don't believe its a suitable character for the wiki nonetheless

Well yeah, cause i hope you do know how it feels. You've been consistently reporting and trying to stir tension over minor things. Most of which, i just didnt know the proper standard for (like how adding 'Possibly' counts as a stat change). And now its come down to this. I don't spare you any sympathy in that regard because you've been making me feel that way for ages, and are now stalking my every edit.

You ALSO claimed that it was retaliation when i actually MADE a CRT (like im supposed to) to an issue i wanted to edit and fix in the wiki, making some comment like 'you're only doing this cause u got reported for it'. And btw i didnt even change the Infinite part of the stat on that frankenstein page even though i blatantly disagree and am making a CRT to change. So clearly you aren't comprehending that I actually think these are active issues with the wiki over just trying to piss you off. I can't win.

. I frequently report the many many outdated pages, or the ones that slip through the cracks which I believe (and still believe tbh) this page i came across was. Its a character from a youtube shorts skit and no real established verse. I didn't know it was yours, and either way you cant prove conclusively if i did so what exactly is the push still about?

I think you’re mixing things up a bit.

This isn’t about “getting on your ass” or restarting anything. The only reason your edits were brought up is because they didn’t really seem to match the rules of the site.

Whether they feel minor or not doesn’t really change much; if something affects how pages or stats are handled, it’s still worth talking about. Even some staff members agreed that certain changes would normally need a CRT, which is why it got brought up in the first place.

I’m not targeting you. The issue is the edits, not you.

The Sofia the First stuff and the other examples you mentioned don’t really reflect what actually happened, and they don’t change what we’re talking about here.

And I don’t agree with the retaliation idea. Bringing something to staff for clarification isn’t the same as trying to provoke you or get back at you.

Well you are doing that, intentionally or not. This is three reports over complete nothings and huge presumptions, days apart and after the fact mind you. Now you're trying to play something, that you cant prove, against me to restart the entire conversation again.

I mean it isnt objectively. Theres a mix of edits here but theyre either miniscule, glossed over, or just misunderstandings. The Additional Limbs one for example, is me holding a CRT that i made and passed and continuing to apply the results of it to VERY evident cases. Making a CRT just to add that to a character who quite clearly has a set of extra limbs in their main image, and was made before the power was a thing, is trying to make progress as difficult as possible on here.

I made a CRT like you've all been begging about the Infinite Stamina issue on this wiki. I know what CRTS are. This Frankenstein edit i did was not even a stat change (despite how it should be) which isnt what the CRT is even about. And instead i get not only a response completely disregarding what im saying in the OP, but accusing me of just making it because of a 'report'. You clearly dont respect my own thoughts and feelings about ordeals on this wiki, and are continually trying to act as if im now editing this wiki spite you.

I think you’re framing this as something more personal than it actually is.

I only raise issues when edits don’t seem to follow the rules; that's the only reason anything gets brought up. If your edits were mentioned multiple times in a short period, it’s simply because multiple separate edits raised concerns, not because anyone is targeting you or trying to go after you.

I’ve reported other users before for similar issues and none of them took it as something personal, so this is the first time someone has framed it as retaliation or revenge.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about intent, spite, or personal conflict on either side. It’s just about whether edits follow the guidelines, and that’s exactly what staff evaluates.

From you, and over super minor stuff. The need to tattle about it in itself and continually fuel the fire is what got it to this point. I dont help, but i'm not backing down when people try and pin/accuse me of something im genuinely not doing or meaning

You ar every much also to blame for the frequency and willingness to continue on with this, especially when this was over days ago and you felt the need to make a report over some assumption. Unluckily for me, it is a huge coincidence and now i gotta deal with it.

Ppl reporting me also dont seem to notice that among the few edits that are accidentally not allowed (without a strenuous CRT process), my hundreds of other ones are actually fixing things up. If you're gonna ban users for honest mistakes in edits out of a whole bunch of useful ones, or defending themselves after riling up/false accusations, then i continue to question the productivity of the wiki. And im obviously not making these edits spitefully or for any sort of agenda cause theyre all on characters i dont know anything about. Please look at the bigger picture.

I dont thimk a ban is necessary for now, but the user needs to understand that significsnt edits, or edits to a page's statistics, however minor, require a CRT to be made. I hope this issue doesnt continue in the future. If they want to help, it should be don e in a way that doesnt break any rules.
 
Yeah, as DDM has correctly surmised, I likewise don't think any kind of ban is warranted. I do think the rules should be followed, and I urge Jinx to curb their frustrations and follow the processes, as tedious as it may get at times.

IMO, I think it was highly inappropriate to publicly bring up names of controversial political figures out of the blue, though I do emphasize with those criticisms. I also despise pretty much every politician in the US government, but this isn't the place to talk about it. That being said, Slav's provocative comments are obviously much worse.
 
Yes. I am too unfiltered, although in my defence, the final episode of The Boys was extremely politically symbolic in nature and involved Trump and Musk stand-ins, and Musk repeatedly directly commented on it afterwards, but I don't think that I was meanspirited towards other members here. 🙏

Not involved but i feel like someone should say it, I think accusing the current president of the United State(of which many members here maybe have voted for) of crimes(genocide) and other near criminal labels is not really a good idea... I would say you are in the wrong here too Ant, given your position here you should have known better, the other dude's response was also wrong tho
 
I remain diseased, but am going through this. I read the last ten pages or so of that The Boys discussion thread.

Let me begin by saying that I do think Slav posting that he was going to follow you to your other socials and attempt to pester you there, does constitute a threat of harassment.

That said, Ant. You were posting about politics in The Boys thread since Wednesday. We have a specific rule to avoid doing so, and you were doing it for two days. You admitted you didn't really know much about the Boys, having only watched bits of it, and you still kept driving the point home repeatedly. If anything, I would say the discussion went remarkably well, as most people (most, excluding Slav and Homie's comment on Wednesday) were exceptionally polite about it. If you were not the head bureaucrat, I do not think they would have been, because you are breaking the rules of the site. I know you have trouble with this sort of thing, and I am trying to be gentle, but you desperately need to rein yourself in. It is going to cause these problems. It is not a question of if, just when.

Would Slav say something off some other time? Probably, yeah. But in this case, I think you started it, he just escalated it (a lot).

I'm not sure if action should be taken against Slav at this time.

Just a brief clarification that this is not what I said. I intended to refer to Trump's self-stated intentions to bomb Iran back to the stone age for fun, not that he has personally committed genocide already. Although there is also the Gaza issue, which a large majority of experts have classified as a genocide.

That is all. Let's leave the subject now please. 🙏
