Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Can someone ban Coomander? He has been consistently toxic and aggressive, telling people to shut up for no reason and other insults, but this time he went quite far and insulted me and my family for pretty much no reason. I jokingly said that he's biased towards a character because that character is his profile picture and he replies with this...

I agree with the 6 month+ ban (although I'd prefer permaban since he never gets better). Other users in the One Punch Man discussion board seem to want him banned as well. The guy gets extremely agitated and starts hurling insults whenever anyone says anything bad about his favourite character (Tatsumaki).
 
The name is familiar and I recall many others remember him being problematic. And it doesn't look like he made many improvements since the times he was banned in 2023. 6 months to a year sounds good, but want more staff input first.
 
Previous discussion on the subject showed that his posts were largely in response to friends and were in-jokes. As a result, I'd want to know if he and the people he's speaking with are on good terms. None of them read like jokes but, I've been wrong before.

No, not at all. I am not friends with Coomander. In fact, I don't think I've ever talked to the guy before besides this one interaction where he insulted me and my family for pretty much no reason. I find his comment regarding my mother offensive and not a lighthearted joke. He does get genuinely very angry whenever someone disagrees with him in powerscaling discussions, especially if it involves Tatsumaki. And other members have found him problematic and he has been banned multiple times before. Please take all of this into consideration.

Well, I think that much is obvious by the fact you're reporting them, we're asking about the other messages you linked to directed at other people.

Personally, I think some kind of ban is appropriate just for the rude comments towards you given their history, but if it's a pattern with even more people that naturally intensifies the severity.

I'm aware he was banned before. I referenced this, although you may not have read those bans: when I say "previous discussion on the subject", I mean to say that having read those past talks that resulted in his bans, they were found to largely be jokes but nevertheless jokes that were not appropriate on Fandom- Agnaa straight up said that were it not for technicalities in our rules that he would not have supported a ban at all. As such, I take that into account, too.

Still. It isn't evident who all of those comments are towards or how their relationship is with the guy, but I s'pose some action for offenses towards you is warranted, although I wouldn't sign off on six months for that alone.

I do agree with this. I only support six months if the behavior is generally targeting strangers. That would indicate they not only didn't learn but actually got worse.

Otherwise, I think a shorter ban, like one month, is probably more appropriate.

From what I can find, there are multiple reports regarding Coomander and it does involve toxic behavior including a report from Clover.

The most recent being the aforementioned report in 2024 from Clover.

Apologies for making a post, but I do distinctly recall reports of toxic behavior and stuff regarding the user named Coomander.

What are you talking about? I am a stranger to Coomander and he said very offensive things to me for damn near no reason. What makes you think he wouldn't act this to other strangers? You're assuming this is a one-time thing while having nothing to support that assumption. Like I said, he does not discriminate when it comes to hurling random insults just because he cannot emotionally control himself, especially when the discussion involves his favorite characters.

And like I said, I am not the only one who have had problems with him in the past. The reply above proves that.

Friend, I understand you are upset- but there is a reason I phrased my statements conditionally. I am explicitly not assuming anything.

And everyone except Bambu so far has outright stated they'd be fine with a 6+ month ban, so I am not sure what you mean by us being reluctant to ban them.

Reporting both @DbzDB2 & @Coomandar. Both have displayed absolutely unacceptable and unwelcome amounts of behavior displayed in this website and especially thread.

Dbz, the best thing you could have did was to not engage back at Coomandar in the first place. You should have waited until a staff could properly roll in to properly defend yourself. Instead, you've just fell directly into his trap. Now you've gotten your self in trouble when in reality, all you could have did was NOT ENGAGED.
Coomander, what you have said was absolutely unacceptable here to say the absolute least.

Now the both of you are getting in trouble, especially after going on each others throats like this. This is not the place to fight yet you guys chose to fight here anyway.

The both of you are in some serious trouble.
This is no longer an invitation to talk in this thread. I advise we all stop until a staff member sorts this out.

Once again, I was not serious when I said that. I simply said it to scare him off and stop harrassing me, although I should have gone about it a different way and I won't say stuff like that anymore. But it really was just my attempt to get him to never talk to me again.

This was very easily preventable, now you're in some deep trouble.
I will let the staff of this website decide your fate.
 
Dbz's comments are decidedly very far against the rules. He was banned once in the past (November 2024) for similar behavior. However, in this case, we must all admit that it was under some duress- a lack of self control on this level cannot be ignored but it was not unprovoked behavior. In light of that, I'd suggest a two month ban, rather than something equal to Coomandar's.

@LephyrTheRevanchist @Abstractions If you have other thoughts on the subject, I'm glad to hear them.

Once again, I apologize for causing such a mess in this thread and if a ban must be placed, I guess I will have to accept that... But I really didnt mean to say such things with pure malicious intent. It was like you said, just under duress. Again, I apologize.
 
Your apology is an element of why I am approaching this with what would historically be called lenience in this regard. In the past we might have permanently banned someone for a comment like that.
